Awesome job mate, a true enthusiast love the videos 😉👍
Thank you!
🤩🤩🤩
What a lucky girl Daisy is
Thank you
Just realised your around the corner from me! (Ish) 😂 What settings are you using for the cresties? Ive just took the plunge into arcadia and as much as i understand what they need.. im unsure on the timing and %s ect
Hi, I dim mine for an hour in the morning and 2 hours in the evening.
@@norwichreptileshed cheers!!
Jamie I know this is an old vlog but have you tried breeding these yet?
Hi, I have bred these about 5 years ago and have an offspring. I haven't bred them since
Ah right. I only ask as I might be on the look out for one at some point
Man I admire your passion!!! And all the hard work, non stop,... just amazing stuff!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much!
Stupid question? What kind of snake is that green one? Beautiful Snake!
That's a Boiga cyanea or Green Cat Snake
@@norwichreptileshed very beautiful. Thank you for replying.
Daisy might need her beak trimmed soon 😅
Yeah! She has a funky little face but since this video has had a trim
How many crickets per bug.?
1 or 2 a week
Beautiful setup! Hope to see more updates in the future.
Thanks!
Did you fix it to the slabs as well??
No it isn't fixed to any slabs
@@norwichreptileshedprobably a stupid question but what stops it from falling over, say a kid running into it lol
It's solid because it's made from 3x2 timber and once all the sides and roof are attached and it's fixed to the wall it's fine
Nice looking viv Jamie 👍 Do you happen to know the species of the two main plants at the front?
Thanks! The plant front left is callisia repens (I'm wrong in the video calling it mini tradescantia) the front right is mini grape ivy
This is fantastic! I always support cohabbing when done right. These ladies have plenty of room and I hope it continues to go well and you can keep learning about the benefits of them being social together!
Thank you so much! Yeah I'm really happy with it
Very cool. Keep it up ❤
Thanks!
Looks amazing!
Thanks!
can you stack these or will they warp
I stack mine, although if you plan on using a lot of soil substrate and rocks ect it's best to use timber between just be on the safe side
I am very curious to know the long term effects of the stain on the creatures in question. That stain can be a harmful substances if it bleeds out of the wood while animals are in there. Also, it won’t protect against humidity in the long term. The chemicals can seep into the air over time. Curious how this all turned out. It looks good for sure. This is genuine curiosity. I’ve been a wood worker for years. For all you out there who just troll, don’t. It’s not productive or helpful.
Hi, I seal the insides of my vivariums with a water based varnish that is toy and food safe. I've had no issues in the 4 years they have been running for.
I thought coco fiber is bad for centipedes. Most centipede keepers recommend top soil
I've personally never had a problem, this mix also includes moss peat.
Love it! Do you not get worried about dog pee? I live near a wooded area but I know a lot of people take their dogs around there and that always concerns me. That and the fact that I can't identify branches and trees
Hi, if I'm worried I'll just give the wood a rinse down with a hose.
If you have time, I would also love some advice on the heating pad? (I am in Zimbabwe so will order off of ebay to be brought out with a courier). Thank you so much!
Sorry I can't help you there as I don't use heat pads, all my enclosures are heated with halogen lamps.
Thanks for the video, very helpful! I am making a very similar sized Vivarium for 2 adult sized bearded dragons, that I am hoping will breed. This is all for my sons. I am wondering, what sized heating lamps would you need for this size vivarium? And UVb light? Thank you!
Hi, I would be using a 2ft 24w 12% T5 uvb and 75/100w halogen heat lamp, I couldn't say for sure as it depends on other factors like outside temperature and ventilation, you'll have to to do some tests before putting the animals in.
Wat is the name of the plants?
Carex grass
I can dig it
Thanks
Amazing stuff . Honestly love watching your vids . We're norfolk based and have a small collection of reptiles from green iggys to frilled dragons . Your vids have helped witn inspirations and ideas for a few of our builds . Do you have a shop or a workshop we could visit . Im scared of snakes but for some reson obsessed with Northern pines . Lol
Hey, I'm really glad you enjoyed the video and found some inspiration from them! This is a private collection at my home so sadly I cannot help.
wooo, that’s a big hoggie 😍, beautiful tank!
Thanks!
I dont understand that this channel isent bigger. 😮 Really like you builds
Maybe one day!
I keep mourning geckos in an exo and they're forever escaping. Had to start keeping the babies in a converted jar viv to keep them in
They are great for the most part but definitely not inescapable
I’m sure someone said about those halogen bulbs making reptiles dehydrated, so maybe something to watch out for
Which halogens? The reptile system eco halogen? They are great lamps, nothing to worry about there
Not 100% sure which ones mate
Hi! If you dont mind me asking, whats that plant on the bottom right corner?
That's a Pothos and a Boston fern
@@norwichreptileshed Thank you!!
Just found this channel. Really enjoy it 🥰
Thank you!
Great to see Daisy out in the garden !
I love seeing her out there
Long time no see. Regards John Jørstad in the Herp channel
Hi mate!
pretty sure coco soil can cause impaction for centipedes. also way too much water and the ventiliation isnt in the right place
I don't agree with any of that, this video and set up is 3 years old and the 10 year old centipede is still perfectly alive and healthy.
@@norwichreptileshed i'm new to centipede keeping and this is what i have been told so i dont know
@@grimmusreaperthe1st I am not new to keeping inverts and happy to help educate, hence the video. I didn't even show the ventilation so I'm not sure what you think I'm doing wrong there either.
@@norwichreptileshed Okay sorry. I was just told to have ventilation close to the soil
Hi daisy shes soo cute bless her ❤❤❤
Love the ramp great set up ❤
Thank you!
Hiya mate , great video , really helped me. I was wondering though what polyeurthane do you get to protect the wood thats safe for eeptiles , im struggling to find one in the uk
Hi, I use Rustins products now, they sell a few types of toy safe varnish which will be fine for reptiles
I like keep my enclosures between 73-75 have use uvb and small 25 basking light if needed , most of the time my reptile rooms 73" i have running side of water for mines . 20gal long
Nice setup! Question: If you want to take the snake out how do you grab it? I guess it will hide from you :)
Thank you! To be honest it's not really a problem I've ever had, every thing comes apart so you just start taking stuff out as needed.
@@norwichreptileshed Ok I see! I have my first corn snake just for 10 days ago. I do have 16 tarantulas and you don't want to mess with their enclosures that much so this is a little new to me. Thanks for the reply!
How much is that costing in electricity?
Too much 😂
🤣 I’m running out of room in my room and was thinking about doing a shed but the price of the electricity bill was the decider 😂
If you insulate it well then it shouldn't be much more than keeping as many vivariums in the house. Night heating throughout the winter can add up and the problem with big enclosures is that you need more lighting
I’m paying roughly £110 a month at the moment for 9 tanks at the moment
@@norwichreptileshed I’ve decided to build a shed for the reptiles , any tips to help do it properly
Just shot you an email about the cut list for this build- I plan to use your videos as help with building my corn a forever home! I did have a question- for all of your wired things in the enclosure- how do you exit them? I saw in another video you had a plastic vent-looking thing that worked, but it was a pretty odd shape. I don’t have a whole lot of tools available, just a circular drill bit and a dream so I was wondering if there was a way using that?
Hello! I have replied to all your questions in your email, I hope it helps!
Do you have a video on the build for this monster!?
I have a few but I started making videos after the bulk of the vivarium was made. Check out my epic builds playlist and you should see them
Brilliant video 😊
Thank you!
Hello , I am making 1800mm X 1000 mm X 600mm reptile vivarium .... Can you tell me if 4mm glass is enough for Boa snake ?
I think 4mm toughened glass should be fine
Looks amazing what a great setup, i was wondering how you set up the 2 spot bulbs and deep heat projector bulb, did you wire them into one dimmer thermostat or all separately?
Thank you! The spot lamps are wired together to a dimmer plug that I've dialed in to a correct basking temperature. The heat projector is now replaced with a ceramic heat emitter and is just to control night heat (only required during winter) and is connected to a thermostat. The basking lamps are not on a thermostat due to the size of enclosure
Love it 🫶🏻
Thanks!
How old ?
25
This is awesome! Do you have any issues with her digging?
@@kayleighkingsley6932 thanks! I don't find that mine digs at all but the fence is sunk into the ground slightly. For other species of tortoises you would definitely need to consider sinking the fence further into the ground.
@norwichreptileshed Oh brilliant! I've just rescued a Hermanns that wasn't being looked after and was hoping to make an outside enclosure but was worried about her digging. Is the basking lamp always on during the day so she can acces?
@@kayleighkingsley6932 the basking lamp and UVB fitting are on for 10 hours a day except really hot days when I turn them off
I would have been so frustrated trying to work in such a narrow space, and it came out spectacular, amazing work
I definitely didn't make it easy for myself with that design but I'm glad that's all over now! Thank you
She is so cute! Can't wait to see her out in the garden.
She's already been out munching away, I'm sure they'll be a TH-cam short or two out very soon 😍
Shes a beautiful specimen mate all credit to you , can tell how dedicated to her you are, i love your guided tours, , im carlos and im blind, ill send you some ics of what me n dsd have built for my hermans tortoise , its a raised enclosure so i can gandle it better and not stand on him, keep up the great work your awsome buddy, regards carlos n seby
Thank you for the kind words! Your tortoise build sounds awesome too! You can send me anything via my email reptileshednorwich@gmail.com
Mine have been up for a couple of weeks now. I gradually increase their heat/light levels over a few weeks so they don't go straight from brumation to 12 hours of heat and light. They have also been happily going out into their outside runs and stomping about eating all the weeds I can provide.
Yes I do the same, I just leave all the lights on the last time settings from cooling down. She's been up for 2 weeks now but i tend to start brumation late so as the weeds have all started growing by this time so can graze. She actually goes in the fridge on Xmas day normally.
