      I shouldn't have to cut to the chase, he needs to stop bumping his gums and get to the point if he wants to keep the attention of anyone!
      He literally talks more than a 14 year old girl!

    Would love to see a video about how the doors where made. I'm looking at building something like this under my stairs, so I've been watching as many videos I can of cabinet making and the like. Top content mate, keep it up

    Thanks Andy, good to see how the under stairs storage area came together 👍👍👍. I ended up putting my compressor outside the workshop in its own sound proof cubby to give me back some floor room and take the noise out. Long term I want to plum in some permanent air lines with off takes in my two main work areas, got a design and material list but still have to find some time to do it. That could work for you as well I imagine.

    • @GosforthHandyman
      @GosforthHandyman  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately nowhere to put it outside the shop - possibly in the loft but draining it would be a pain. Cheers! 🛠👍

    I got a new compressor recently. I finally went for the same as Keith Brown did a video on because I need low noise and can tell you it’s really very quiet compared to normal ones. I think they do various sizes, 24L enough for me. Brand name is Orazio. Recommended if quiet is what you want.

    Im down the road at teesside. This summer weather is awesome ! Getting sick of people asking me " isnt it too hot to work outside in this heat" No its too bloody cold to work outside in the winter months. Your stair storage looks great. Iv done a few, bit of a ballache but satisfying when finished.

    Another great video Andy, this time I’m watching on Vancouver island as I’m staying with my brother in law. I can’t believe the price of tools out here in Canada, what we pay in pounds 💷 they pay in dollars 💵 if only I could bring some home with me. Anyway can’t wait for the new podcasts with you and Peter.

    The music used in the last 20 seconds (and in the into) of this video really gave me a nostalgic feeling, couldn't shake that it was inspired by some 90s videogame - eventually it struck me that it I was thinking of the bomb-ass soundtrack to the SNES game Plok.
    Everyone who enjoys synthy prog music, go listen to the Plok OST. listening to the "Beach" track rn, Tim Follin was a genius.

    Do you tell clients about the strongly recommended primer/undercoat layer before they opt to paint it themselves? Because that adds even more time and money, and another half full can of expensive something you will most likely not use again before the end of its shelf live.

    Planning my own under-stairs enclosure, found this build and video quite helpful, although unfortunately the link to article about the build does not work :(
    On the doors, you don''t mention the size of the MDF used for the rails and stiles .. I am guessing they are 18mm thick ? would 12 mm work, or is that too thin for the hinges ?
    I am a Yank, so we still use Imperial units, but I am getting used to the metric as easier way to measure and plan . Thanks !

    What slides did you use there? I'm looking to DIY something similar but it's 800mm deep and anything over kitchen size (650?) and the price rockets. Especially for heavy duty.
    Considering making some tracks for fixed casters. Just feels dirty.

    Have you considered making a soundproof box/cabinet for the compressor?
    You could incorporate an over the top storage unit to hand air related tools, bits and bobs. Be a great TH-cam video as well.
    Just a thought.

    • @GosforthHandyman

      Hi Bill - I've thought about it but think it would be a pain to get to the drain valve etc. Do they make self-draining compressors? 😀

    • @SMee67
      @SMee67 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gosforth Handyman , I did see a guy somewhere had added a longer drain tube to his, and extended it through the wall to outside his shop. The on off valve was also outside. So, the answer I guess, is yes. If you make it yourself. 😉
