😂😅 yea... Good for you! My poor husband won't do any of my ideas until I go ahead and start knocking walls down myself. Then he comes in to "save the day" 😂
I am ASTOUNDED at the number of people who complained he left out a lot of steps and didn’t show the final product. They just need to click the link in the description to see the full magazine article with step by step explanation and pictures!
You are leaving out sooooo much info on how this is done. This is much more complicated than you're leading people to believe. I am a 29 year veteran in the high end, custom woodworking business, and have been self-employed in this business for 23 years.
I've been planning shelves with doors under the stairs, but I think the drawer idea works better because you can then access the full depth of the space. This construction is simple, and works well. Thanks. My space is the full height of a 16-stair flight, so I'll probably divide it up into smaller sections.
Anything's possible to DIY don't expect it to be finished in a weekend if you fitting it into family life.. just make sure the significant other understands it'll be messy ... Once I showed the ideas of the space to the Mrs and the potential she was all in ... You'd be surprised what contractor who built your place didn't clean out if that spot ... Mine was a mess but given other things I have run into with our house I wasn't surprised
Wait! you didn't really show how you built the carcass of what the drawers sit in. Like you skipped a whole lesson. I have those same heavy duty slides, but not sure how to frame out the base. How did you do that?
Exactly what I was thinking. You showed the easy stiff that is basically self explanatory. I’m wanting to know how you built the actual drawer and how it is attached to the rails.
Can you describe which push latches you used and where to get them. It's not included in your list of materials needed in the link you have. Thanks, and great video.
I have 2 sets of stairs that I'm considering this kind of storage. Where do you recommend procuring drawer slides? 500lb capacity would give me peace of mind.
Thanks, I looked at the additional information, but you don’t specifically say which sliders is used: “ 34-in. Extra Heavy Duty drawer slides (500 lb.)-3 pr.”
Its funny to see the recommended, because there are many newer videos that copy yours from 3 years ago. Well, they learned from a better builder, hahaha.
I've got the best under stairs storage system... another set of stairs that leads to a basement. 😝 99.9% of all homes up north have basements and builders stack stairs.
It’s not Andy retiring, it’s the Chiefs forcing him out. Patrick’s legacy will grow greater than Andy Reid’s. With that being stated one must go. Patrick doesn’t want the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick conversation. He will do it with a new coach and therefore I won’t look like such a conspiracy theorist with this comment.
Not really sure what the point of this video is. Way too little information for it to be a tutorial. And if its just to show the process, coulda been done as a youtube short.
My wife got very excited about this, now I have to do it
lol

Im starting that project this week. Was somewhat intimidated in the beginning, but this video cleared up a lot of questions I had. Awesome.

I wish I had the guts to tackle that myself! It looks amazing!

Love this idea! I just need to find someone to do this for me
Очень просто и то, что искала, точно такая история с лестницей.! Идея супер! ❤
Wow, it looks great and so useful. You have skills and made it look so easy. Wish you lived close by and would do the work for me.
Very helpful thank you
What did you do with the space under the mid-landing? Looks like a great place for more storage.
Very nice use of dead space, It turned out amazing, thanks
Great idea. Thanks for this video.

Instablaster.
I hope I can get mine to look this nice
I decided to use half inch solid platinum for the sides and backs
Can you describe which push latches you used and where to get them. It's not included in your list of materials needed in the link you have. Thanks, and great video.
how much would you charge to do this work and how long would it take you to complete?
If the slides didn’t come apart how did he get screws into the side of the drawer closest to the wall?
It need to screw for drawer first then extend slide to full length and screw it to wall by crouching behind drawer from previous opening.
Ma pop up up pplo ok
Skipped quite a bit lol ...looked well finished but left our way 2 much information lol
Agree, fitting to runners is a huge part of it and I'm still none the wise lol
What size screws did you use to hold the heavy duty runners?
Don’t the stairs creek without the studs?
looks amazing
Where did you purchase the drawer slides and self openers ?
You did an amazing job

Love it! Great Job! 👌
How would someone be able to build a drawer unit UNDER the stairs without disturbing any walls?
How many 8 x4 sheets did you use for cabinets Cheers.
I at first thought Stev-o had turned DIY!! 😀
Какя фурнитура выдвижных ящиков используется?
Is beautiful when is done by a professional. i doubt I will produce the same results. 😂
great job. Please let me know the specification of the drawer runners you use? I reside in the UK, so will have to source it here. Many thanks
Hi Johan, you can get more information about the project here: www.familyhandyman.com/project/under-stairs-storage/

Awesome work!!
Super project made easy thanks man ,😀👍

Thi's a foking amazing job man
What Color is on the wall
Hey man are you going to show the end result? Cool from the exterior but cmon
Thats bad ass
How you built the doors?
Its funny to see the recommended, because there are many newer videos that copy yours from 3 years ago. Well, they learned from a better builder, hahaha.
AWESOME JOB 👍🏽
Didn't show us the draws working at the end? What they looked like inside disappointed
Nice
You live close to Miami ? Lol
This not so detailed video is not for
Amateur wood workers
Why not use box as drawer front and just put trim on box itself?
Close your eyes and it’s Steve-O giving you carpentry advice.
Here are some doors I made earlier…..
He was alive in 1955 mind blown 🤯
Reminds me of Homer Simpson watching Troy McClure instructional video for drywall. Rushed and missed whole sections of the process.
😄

Ese es el espacios que tiene
So it’s cool to remove the supporting studs for the stairs? Seems like you’re not supposed to do that.
They're there for the plasterboard not the stairs ;)
They are not supporting the stairs! Just like stud walls don't support upstairs.
Think before you speak

So easy when your house is made of cardboard and sticks. Come here and try it on "engineering" bricks (the ones that are harder than stone).
Like a walk in the park 😂😂😂
It’s defo not a diy job for me.
Definitely not a beginner project
I like the idea, but some parts of building are missed in this video, which makes me not 100% like this video
Can you just come do this for me 🤣
why it's so fucked up at the bottom?
You sound exactly like Mike Berner (the other host) LOL
Why didn't you show the finished project with the drawers opened? Under-stair storage is the point of the video. Why didn't that occur to you?

Not really a “how to” video. Lol.
Stodoys Blueprints has some very useful blueprints with all the details you need.
