Very surprised chestnut praline got left out. It's shockingly good coming from Starbucks and unlike a peppermint mocha (simply chocolate sauce + peppermint oil/extract) and a eggnog latte (a good milky eggnog and espresso, simple). Praline chestnut latte? Pralines vary in recipes and turning a nutty molasses-y caramelly mass (with chestnut) into a syrup sounds a bit perplexing. I'm disappointed and shocked (not in Josh, the fans) that PEPPERMINT MOCHA is a fan favorite over Praline Chestnut.
I think you could do it pretty similarly to the creme brulee latte he did here. (Full disclosure: i am not a chef nor have I ever tried the chestnut praline latte from starbucks) Those little crunchies Josh made for the top? That's basically praline, so if you crushed up some chestnuts into chunks, added them after the butter, then salted and let it harden as shown, you'd have crunchy chestnut praline to top the drink. Then either buy a chestnut syrup like Torani Marron, or I think you could make the caramel syrup Josh made, and add super finely crushed chestnuts, like 'powdered' super fine, to make a chestnut flavoured caramel syrup. Add steamed milk and espresso/heated up cold brew/etc and you'd have a chestnut praline drink!!!

I just finished doing a canberra coffee course and I gotta say......... I have mad respect for the way you made these drinks. Thanks for making my quarantine good, *but better* Happy Holidays.
I work for Starbucks as a barista so some insight: 1) the drinks should have whip cream on them and toppings. Not sure what went wrong or how long you waited. I know the whip cream melts after so long but they should’ve checked before they handed those out. Also did you go in the early morning? If so we are ran through drive thru times and you could’ve been in the situation where they were backed up or had to rush drinks out sacrificing beverage quality which isn’t acceptable but happens. 2) the peppermint mocha contains our mocha sauce which is much thicker and contains dairy than the peppermint which is a syrup. That may explain the oil/fat layer. Also if they did add the whip cream and it had melted, that could have caused that layer to form as well! Hope this helps. Sorry you got served subpar beverages though. Drive thru times suck and we just get rammed by the amount of people ordering and the pressure to do our best with our times.

(Full disclosure: i am not a chef nor have I ever tried the chestnut praline latte from starbucks)
Those little crunchies Josh made for the top? That's basically praline, so if you crushed up some chestnuts into chunks, added them after the butter, then salted and let it harden as shown, you'd have crunchy chestnut praline to top the drink. Then either buy a chestnut syrup like Torani Marron, or I think you could make the caramel syrup Josh made, and add super finely crushed chestnuts, like 'powdered' super fine, to make a chestnut flavoured caramel syrup.
Add steamed milk and espresso/heated up cold brew/etc and you'd have a chestnut praline drink!!!
Yeah, the chestnut is my favorite too, but I’m boycotting Starbucks.
The new outro song is called "Cushy - Let It Burn" if there's anyone wondering!
Your videos have been of great help this year Joshua! Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to you and yours :)
Dude thank you. Love his B rolls and outro songs. I just wish he'd make a full playlist of everything one of these days
When he said “if I wasn’t on a diet I would have this every morning” I felt that 😭
As an avid starbucks enjoyer, this is fair, I don't really like the peppermint mocha, but my main drink through the year, is a caramel macchiato, and i love the caramel brulee latte with a burning passion
I just finished doing a canberra coffee course and I gotta say......... I have mad respect for the way you made these drinks. Thanks for making my quarantine good, *but better* Happy Holidays.
7:33 the way he looked into my soul
Why is it that when I close TH-cam and attempt to go to sleep this man uploads like wtf.
I work for Starbucks as a barista so some insight: 1) the drinks should have whip cream
on them and toppings.
Josh is just great! Kudos to his Momma! I got his book a month ago and absolutely love it! Loving his channel and catching up on videos I never saw as I'm a fairly new-ish subscriber! Great work Josh! 😊💪
Really, u gotta luv Josh.
Every recipe i i folliw from his is like heaven on earth, even better than cookbooks provide
being on a diet while making cooking videos must be such a struggle. like major props to josh for that bc my fatass would be ✨grubbing✨
You don look fat at all tf
Your recipes are only for me to watch, not replicate 😂
I thought an ad started playing when he got on the stage lma0
This entire video is just an advert for a proper coffee machine and it's very tempting for me to buy one now, other than that this video is amazing the production quality is off the charts and is easily the best cooking channel on TH-cam... period

The whip cream melts from the hotness.... That's why there is so much space and no whip - Former Barista
Omg yes I was just about to say that and why there is a fat layer
@@angelah1211 exactly what I came here to say. That oily fat layer was the whipped cream.
@@emilyedge3393 I’m really bad at grammar lol but that is what I was trying to say too lol 🤣
When Josh finally knows what episode we are on 😂
Ok, I just tried the eggnogg latte from this recipe and it was amazing. Seriously. You need more of this in your life.
josh talking about the greatness of the caramel brûlé...
the whipped cream from the peppermint latte trying to escape 👀
I got hit in the head with a can of soda yesterday. Luckily for me, it was a soft drink.

Lol i can imagine his roommate (if he has) walking into the kitchen when he opens papa cabinet and talks to the hidden camera hidden in his cookies. Hehe boi
Josh. This is an intervention about the voice.
Everytime I start one of your videos and the music kicks in/your voice comes in, my 7 year old daughter comes in the room and ask "Are you watching Joshua Weissman!!!?!" She truely enjoys watching your videos and making your receipts with us.
P.S. She adores your hair because she too has bouncy curly hair!
I was sad and low before watching this but watching Josh go about being Josh made me happy :')
Is no one going to talk about how the song from 3:00 onward is a lo-fi version of the Dutch national anthem?
Pretty sure that’s Auld Lang Syne and not the Dutch anthem lolol
Just as I was asking in the comments saying "3:05 pleeeease could anyone tell what's the name of that background music?"
But surprisingly I found you!!!
Thanks @Tom Kirsten
@@ForestKim You're quite probably right. I have no idea what the official name of the song would be, I just found myself humming along before realizing I did in fact know the tune.
Can you please do the sugar cookie and the chestnut praline?
Alright Im early enough. Heres an idea for you Josh. Instead of competing with (and beating) fast food restaurants, how about picking on somebody your own size? Hard Rock Cafe.
No matter which Hard Rock Ive been to, their chicken is always perfect. Their BBQ ribs are simply heavenly. And their desserts like the Hot Fudge Brownie are top quality. And their other menu items are amazing too.
So how about it? I really wanna see you compete with higher quality restaurants, and in the Hard Rock's case, you might even be able to compete with their prices.
I made all these and IT WAS SERIOUSLY PHENOMENAL.
Thank You! No one ever believes me when I tell them Starbucks coffee drinks, hot or cold, taste artificial! They taste like oily chemicals to me! Now I have some recipes to make my own, you have made my holiday.😊✌
A very hungry turtle approved this drink

Just come here from Harper's Bazaar, never heard of this guy, but am now binge watching his videos.
Adore everything about him!
cooking youtubers: uses hundreds of different cooking "instruments"
me: cries in minimum wage job living paycheck to paycheck
he literally just used pots in this one what
@@ToffibaerCookie The fine mesh strainer and the espresso machine. Not too bad when those are only a few dollars for a fine mesh strainer, and 40 for a decent moka pot, but still a lot for someone on minimum wage who might only use both of this once or twice, compared to a standard pan. I'm in that in between where I'm broke too, but I just cheap out on ramen for the weekdays to afford having decent ingredients and instruments for weekends
@@ToffibaerCookie Just pots, ey? Not glaring over anything? Anything...? Maybe the $700+tax espresso machine he was using in the video? Sure, sure, Brevillle (the brand he's using) has more price-friendly model, but it still packs a $500-ish price tag.
Unless you expect everyone to have a reliable espresso maker in their household which still slaps at LEAST $400-500. Which wouldn't make any sense especially if they seek Starbucks coffee regularly..
@@QuackZack well if you watch a video with coffee involved, what do you expect? Also you can make espresso WITHOUT a fancy machine, so its not even necessary. The only thing you actually need in this video are the ingredients and the pots.

I made the caramel coffee but with a bit more coffee than what it is recommended in the recipe and it's fucking delicious!! The most perfect caramel sauce I've ever made (haven't done many). I'm really proud of the result. I will mix some sauce with a cream I made for a cake. I bet it's going to taste delicious as well
That’s so funny. The layer of oil is from the whip that melts quickly. And people, you can order a peppermint mocha all year long.... I was a barista a few years back and yes, we dilute the eggnog to be mostly whole milk. So silly everyone wanted this video but a great watch. I love eggnog too!!!
still holding out hope for a psl recipe. that's the only drink that i genuinely enjoy from starbucks and don't just drink because it's the only caffeine place nearby where i work.

The peppermint mocha is the only thing I had liked from Starbucks. Thank you Joshua. Thank. You.
I'm now an eggnog purist because of Joshua, hands down the best I've ever had and I used to hate eggnog.
