You did your research about banana ketchup. This is the first time I've heard a foreigner mentioning the history of it EVER. Most people would naturally assume that the sauce is sweet because of too much sugar.
I also agree the spaghetti is much suited for kids, and when you grow up, you would prefer the palabok more. I would recommend it especially to foreigners who aren't used to eating sweet/Filipino-style spaghetti.

@@joshlum8291 Actually, it's just a common preference that's also normal here in the Philippines, some like Jollibee's Chicken while some didn't but rather like McDonalds, which is why you can see those two sometimes side by side. Just like my friends who likes to eat Spaghetti in Jolibee but prefer to buy burgers in the nearby McDonald's, they don't like the taste of McSpaghetti but they like their Chicken there because of Gravy.

Im a Filipino working here. One issue I can see why queue takes hours is that, fast food chain crew in malaysia seem to be so slow. This is the first thing I notice when I set foot in Malaysia.
1 person to do it all (cashier, prepare food, take away, etc ..). And some crew dont have this sense of urgency. They seem relax and have all the time in the world. More often, there's only 1 or 2 cashiers.
In Philippines, when its peak hours (lunch, dinner time), 1 will be dedicated for cashier, 1 prepare food, and at times, 1 more for drinks. And they move and act fast. Its common to see 4 or more cashiers serving at the same time.

Banana ketchup was invented by Maria Orosa, a food technologist, among other things. Sadly she died during ww2 while helping the local troops.

Even if it's good, I wouldn't queue up for 8 hours.... even 5 minutes is pretty long for a fast food restaurant.

Queuing 8 hours for food? I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes. That said, I won't queue an hour for ANY food; there's always good food elsewhere.

JOLLIBEE started from the Phils. The taste is originally suited for the Filipino taste. The chicken is more delicious when it has a gravy. You need to dip it for a twist taste. Spaghetti is kinda sweet it suits for the children.

Does japanese also like little salty food? if that's the case we may have similar taste buds. some Malaysian vloggers don't find Jollibee appealing, because they say it's too salty and too sweet.

I always mix a bite of spaghetti and a bite of chicken joy at the same time whenever I eat Jollibee. The spaghetti is so good with fried crunchy foods, it could be chicken joy or egg rolls.
I only put the gravy on when Im eating chicken joy with rice.
