Same for me, as a kid I had ripped pages of magazines with his work on my bedroom walls. Him and Boris Vallejo.

@@cryptout I never got into Boris Vallejo. Anatomically, I think he was more accurate than Frazetta but his style felt very stiff and still life whereas Frazetta's work breathed and erupted with energy, vitality and life. You can observe any painting by Frazetta and witness the energy, the pov and the focus of the work. To me, that was a massive attractor. I always see the story in Frazetta's work, the tale he wanted to communicate. His work moved me then, emotionally, and moves me to this very day. He was an absolute master. Our generation's Rembrandt.

For example, in my favorite of his paintings, "The Egyptian Princess", you observe that both the Princess and her bodyguard are looking at YOU -- the viewer -- as if YOU are a potential threat. She is demure but focused, the bodyguard half hidden in shadow , sword raised, is also focused on YOU. But, the panther is focused on something else altogether. Another potential threat, perhaps? Don't know for certain, but I do know there's a story there to be discovered.
