I have been to many coastal states of India and I have eaten crab dishes but the taste of crab in my native state Odisha specially from Lake Chilika is unmatchable. I am not exaggerating visit Odisha and have crab dishes. You will love it.
Hi Varun.... Wonderful recipe.... I m malvani ..... Just a suggestion....if u first roast onions in teaspoon of oil till soft n then add dry coconut...that would give perfect taste......cos dry coconut tend to roast quickly cos it's rich in oil

Would you mind explaining wee bit more about the purée? Did you use “walking legs” with the shell ? If so, what else did you add to the mixer to get the colour?

You can marinate crabs with green chilli, coriander, ginger and garlic paste for 30 mins. That really brings out an awesome flavour. Also, with coconut-onion mixture, put 2-3 cloves of garlic n few pieces of ginger. Roast them thoroghly and then grind. This is the typical malvani vatap that we store in frigde. Stays good upto a week without grinding also.

1:46 blitz the legs with coriander powder and strain out the purée.
It's not coriander powder it's coriander leaves
