    Thank you merry for sharing this, it was very helpful, as I’m fairly new to diamond painting and struggle at times on how to start. I’ll certainly be doing this from now on 💗

    I like your tip of covering the edges glue with washi tape and then uncovering the legend. I’ve been using scotch tape to cover the glue where the legend is.

      So glad I could help! I couldn’t stand having my legend covered up!

    This is perfect for me cause my canvas has been very frustrating as the plastic cover was ripping any way it wants too. Thank God for coverminders as that helped. But for the rest of the kit I put the washi Tape right. I always didn't do right. Thanks Merry

    I tried the washi along the glue edge but found it stuck when trying to remove it and it was a hassle getting it off.. so stopped and now just try to be careful. I do use the washi tape on the top and I love the ceramic blade to cut between sections. I like being able to make my sections as big as I want as I know what my usual work size is.. I tried the release papers but my arm would get them to come up or curl.. so the washi is a must. glad you mentioned the right and wrong side of the plastic. thanks for the video

    Enjoyed this video 😁
    A tip for those who don’t want to use a blade to cut their washi, you can use anything with a straight edge to hold against it and tear the washi. I use my Bella Art De Nicole tray lid. But you can use an old gift card or something like that. Works like a charm 😁

    Boy i just saw this 9 months late but so glad i found it. I have been doing my canvases using washi tape and release paper because my washi tape was peeling off my plastic layer. Maybe it wasn't good washi tape? I bought it at Michael's so i was very disappointed. I also threw a thin one away because i could not unroll it from the roll and it would tear in pieces as i tried to unroll it. So now trying different washis and see how it goes. I like the release paper but don't want to cover entire picture as i like to look at entire image and enjoy its beauty as i go along. I just subscribed to you! Thank you for this tutorial!

    Oh my goodness!! Thank you so much for this! 🙌🎉 I'm new to dp and only learned the washi tape sectioning from a video and I'm finding it to be so finicky and a pain in the booty. It's coming up at the ends and driving me nuts. Good thing I didn't do the whole canvas, just going a strip at a time, but bc of your video, I'm definitely switching to release papers on the next strip! Thank you thank you!! 🥰🎉🎉

    What is released paper? Also is there a table you recommend that has the light

    • @MerryMakingCrafts
      @MerryMakingCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Release paper is like the shiny paper that you find behind stickers. It allows you to section your painting using smaller sheets instead of the big cover. Here are links to release paper and a light board that I recommend.

    Couild. I. Put wasabi tape on the sticky. Part or do. Put it on the. Cover but how do I. Cut the plastic. Without cutting the canvas how do. I. Apply the. Tape how. Many in. A. Row do I do

    • @MerryMakingCrafts
      @MerryMakingCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว

      These questions are all answered in the video if you keep watching :) Don’t put washi tape on the sticky part, it will not lift off. You cut the canvas very carefully with a craft knife or lift it and cut with scissors. You do as many rows and columns as you want. The goal is to make sections the size you feel most comfortable!

  • @victorialama4183
    @victorialama4183 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have to ues wishi tape or can you use duck tape and can you ues wishi tape on the border?

    • @MerryMakingCrafts
      @MerryMakingCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you could use whatever type of tape you have on hand! Duct tape tends to be really wide, so it might be hard to use for sectioning, but you could definitely put it on the outside edge and fold it over. Just don’t put any tapes directly on the sticky part of the canvas where you put your drills! It will NOT come off!
