Rubbing alcohol removes sharpie hehe. Anywho, love the video and how I was feeling the nail struggle on lifting those corners and my nails are shorter! I still use release papers and washi tape methods, buit I am partial to those vinyl section frames. Maybe I am biased. Protip: leave a gap so you can cut between them :P

I use washi and quick release. I’m trying to see how the vinyl frames would work. They look more difficult.

Before I section I label the diamond drill numbers on the release paper for the sections to have the drills ready for that particular area, saves so much time. Thanks Mrs Coffee love your channel

I started with washi, but now my favorite are the release papers from Crashley. Super easy, durable, hides confetti/mystery as needed and lots of different patterns that make them fun to use. Love them!

I have never heard of the vinyl method. Do you cut out the windows then diamond paint the section of plastic area you cut away?

You cut around 2 sides of the release papers

Although I have tried and have used the washi tape, it never worked great for me. I do like the release papers, but now my favorite is the vinyl. I prefer the smaller ones and as I move to the next section, I move the vinyl up to the next part of the kit that needs to be framed and cut the plastic away and work that section. Once there are no other sections, I place the vinyl section on the release papers for the next kit. Great video!

Thank you so much for this helpful demonstration. The vinyl technique gives you a very clean look. I'm glad you showed us the separate versions. I wouldn't want to invest in all 3, just to figure out i only would use one. I use inexpensive release paper, i usually cut it as i go to make smaller sections, and washi tape. But your release paper is so cute. I'm truly grateful for your TH-cam and twitch videos. You keep me inspired! 😊

Hey I’m just found your channel I love diamonds painting. Not even realizing there would be TH-cam channels about this craft🤦‍♀️. I will be sure to stick around and check out your videos. Never even thought to section off my canvas I usually start at a corner then go from there this might actually help make doing the paintings easier and less daunting to do larger painting. I have 4-5 that I’ve put off because they are so big.

After buying my first small canvas a month ago, I immediately hated the plastic cover: it reflected glare from the overhead light. So I came up with my own very simple solution: I covered the canvas with a single sheet of baking paper. (I think it's called parchment paper in the US.) Then I used a ruler and a fine tipped Sharpie to draw grid lines on it. Then I used a craft knife to cut out the section that I wanted to work on. The bonus is that the baking paper is cheap and available at any supermarket. This would work for larger canvases, too: you'd just have to use more baking paper to achieve the same result. You could also cut the baking paper into different sizes to emulate the release papers that are sold elsewhere. Edit: I still use washi tape to cover the adhesive that extends outside the border of the canvas.

Great video explanation Mrs c! 👍🏻 I use a combination of washi and release papers. I usually section one row (release paper sized row from right to left, with small overlap usually 4 pieces in all) with washi tape as a border to stop the plastic from tearing or rolling on the cut edge, then put down the release paper row, then trim the plastic off above the washi line. Just one row at a time working from the top . If you work from left to right then place papers down right to left, that way as you work the papers don't get caught under each other and stay flat. The washi stabilises the flimsy plastic really well and it's easier than putting release papers on the entire canvas, esp if you have to keep the unworked canvas rolled up due to size of canvas or working area.

It was super helpful to me. And I have a kind suggestion about thise vinyls, why not leave them on plastic to reuse on the next canvas, instead of trying to get it off with possibility of damaging it. I would use scissors or porcelain cutter to cut the plastic around the vinyl and reuse that plastic in another canvas. Just a thought.
    That do you all think?

In my opinion the vinyl isn't the best. I work with vinyl daily (not with diamond painting). She's sending you permanent vinyl which isn't meant to be pulled up. It can be, but it will inevitably stretch, especially those thinner squares. So marketing it as reusable isn't fair to say. She should use REMOVEABLE vinyl if she wants to market as reusable but even then, it wouldn't work too well. Also, why isnt there transfer paper included to get the vinyl on the plastic easier? Placing any amount of vinyl is horribly frustrating without transfer tape. I dont know, I just don't think the idea was thought out properly. For someone who owns a vinyl cutter she should know all this. Which is why to me it feels like she may be just capitalizing on people who dont know any better. Just my opinion 🤷🏼‍♀️
