What the accountant-guys did with Cones of Dunshire is so incredibly sweet! As insignificant this may be for the series, it gives it so much depth and is such a sweet little detail that makes this series so amazing. Well done by the writers. This show teaches so much more about friendship in all its forms and variations. Barney would be quite challenging to have as a boss, but his heart is definitely at the right place

It's absolutely not insignificant for the series. It is important because a.) it allows ben and leslie to not worry about sending their kids to college, because they get money out of the game and more important b.) it allows them to get gryzzl to choose pawnee for free wifi
Barney would be a great boss. Hes super enthusiastic about his employees and loves humor.

Daniel Leza He has the perfect home life with Gail and his three gorgeous daughters who adore him. We don’t even get the comfort of knowing if Barney has a loving family ;_;
Chris fell into a depression for a while and when we're talking THE Chris Traeger, that unlimited fountain of optimism and enthusiasm, that's gotta be some serious heartache to get him there.
But, seeing Barney's joy get crushed multiple times is very saddening, despite it being a funny running gag.

Why didn't Ben stay at the accounting firm? He seemed genuinely happy there, his coworkers loved him and they treated him to calzones on his second day there.
As an accountant I understand. You create nothing of real value there. You help with Manmade problems in a manmade system. And 90% of the Time nobody even cares. Business owners will ignore or throw away your papers. You sit in a boring space all day copying numbers from a to b.
He got an offer to be city manager. He does seem to enjoy the accounting job, but public service is where Ben's heart is at.

It’s about enjoying what you do that mindset that you have is why allot of people are stuck in jobs that they absolutely hate because it “pays well” but they’re absolutely miserable and hate their life. I’d rather have a fun job that I absolutely love going to but it pays less than a job that I despise but pays more.

I feel like the most rewarding part of this was to see the accounting firm thrive throughout the show, it’s not openly stated but you can tell by the office which size continues to increase and become more modern. All in all Barney and the gang did not do too bad for themself

i had no idea barney was also one of the teachers from one of the earlier episodes with the teacher budget cut thing and that he also did the accounting segment of the telethon
Yeah, i think the show passed a reboot from 1rst to 2nd season, the writers took some characters, like him or even donna and they put a make over on them, even the humor changed from The office-like humor to something new in 2nd season ( they also pulled off mark in an non fashioned way)
He really is such a sweet guy.

He has a good sense of humor, he's extremely eager to work with his employees, he's passionate about his job, he rewards accomplishments, and he pays attention to his employees interests. I'm studying to be an accountant, and I hope I get a boss like Barney!
