Just because a guy doesn't get along with his family does not mean that he can't get along with yours. Maybe his family is toxic, and he does not want to be around that environment. Maybe he wants to start a healthy relationship with this potential new family
Most people think like her in the video, but they never consider why that person would stay away from their family. Mostly because no matter what, in the philippines, family means everything, and according to the Bible, you're supposed to obey and honor your parents (but that can be misunderstood, it isnt blind submission...)

great questions, clear answers by chris. both of you are so good at self expression. from an older foreigner man’s perspective, my top turn off would be money being made made top priority in an older foreigner/younger filipina relationship. the man might wish to offer (based on his natural instinctive drive to support his family) money for her role as housewife, but to be regularly asked for money for her extended family (or her giving her house keeping money to relatives), would cause me to feel really used & it would become a big turnoff. it might be cultural norm to do in the Phillipines but the heck with that. it’s not a cultural tradition to do that in the West. consider at any time the girl could withdraw affection & sexual attraction in favour of younger competition (no guarantees there!), while still regularly asking for money for her extended family. if that happened, i would really question the value of that relationship continuing. how many older men fall into that trap because of their natural inclination to give family support? relationship then becomes a one way transfer of resources in the girl’s favour.
@patricmunneke8348 I am with you on this one, Patric. If I feel I have to constanly be in a competition with a bunch of guys, over a girl, I will walk away. I am not interested in drama. (seems to be the case from what I've seen in vids, even with those with children) I understand that parent/child support roles are somewhat reversed so expectations/responsibilities are different but families seem to stick together and help each other out, is it possible to become an actual part of the family in that sense? I like your story and congratulations to both of you. I’m here in Long Beach, California. I’m from Manila working in a bank when I met my husband, Filipino-American. He went to Caloocan city, in Metro Manila, for a vacation. After 10 days we met and dated for few nights he went back to Long Beach, promised me he’ll be back. We communicated constantly via long distance calls, and then 6 months later he came back for Christms holidays. He proposed to me then we prepared for our wedding for next year. He came back in December for our wedding. Then he went back to the US, but then after 2 weeks I found out I was pregnant so he promised to be back as soon as he can. I don’t wanna leave my job yet so I stayed for more than a year then came his petition for me to migrate to the US. My son who is 15 months old then, automatically got his US Citizen status so we were able to go to Los Angeles. And the rest is history. We have bonded happily since and now I’m in my 60’ s getting ready to retire from my work and we’re planning to be in the Philippines more often and longer time. This video illustrated what I have always thought should be in any relationship, and yet, what has been turned upside down in the west. Each should always strive to give their best to their partner. It is only when this happens that it becomes a loving and giving relationship. Far too many in the west have the upside down idea that they should be taken as they are…even at their worst. That is why it is so disrespectful for either, especially once married, that they let themselves go…becoming obese, lethargic, and negative in all manner of ways. It is always implied that the person you date is the person they will fundamentally always be. So many in the west, instead of concentrating on being their best, instead, concentrate on building a false front…a facade designed to lure and trap the unwary. They are spiders in nature. They busily spin a web of deceit with the intent of capturing and securing their victim in a socially accepted form of entrapment…until it is too late. Once the person is caught, then the real person emerges…one who selfishly puts him or herself before their partner…for they know that for the person to be able to extricate themselves from their web…they will have to bite off some of their own limbs…and so, figuratively, lose an arm and a leg in a divorce. That is why it is so important to look for a person with self discipline and self respect, besides having a generally positive and inwardly happy disposition. And, yes, hygiene is one of the manifestations of respect, both of self, and of others. It directly demonstrates where the heart and mind lie, whether on the immediate comfort of the self, or on the comfort of others, of selfish and lazy slovenliness or of an orderly and disciplined path to betterment for the sake of each. It is only when the heart and mind of each focuses on the happiness of the other that it becomes effortless…where each actually gains energy from the giving of themselves, and so, would not be a constant drain of energy…an unsustainable state that maintaining a facade would entail…and why so many eventually let themselves go. They are the ones who took the wrong path in life from the very beginning. They had foolishly decided to concentrate on the outside…instead of on the inside. They had chosen to live a lie, because of the initial ease of the path, instead of looking at themselves honestly, and putting in the sustained effort to making actual positive changes for their long term happiness. They are also the ones, who, by the very thought that they could fool others for the long term, are ironically, the foolish ones. They set themselves up for failure from the beginning. They are the thieves in the night of effort and time invested, of trust, and of love itself. So, in short, always beware of the arachnids in life, the web spinners of the spiders, or of those with the nature of the ticks, who with their anticoagulant of flattery, will attempt to be a long term parasite. Look for those with the nature of the ant…highly organized, disciplined, and always building their future with the good of their nest…first and foremost in their heart and mind.
Open minded versus active minded. ‘Open minded’ is used quite often to manipulate those who don’t know their own mind. Active minded says ‘I’ve made my decision but will entertain new data.’
Great job Chrissy! Um, you too Rob. 😎 I sent an email to your gmail address but I can ask the question here. I’m similar in age, physique and appearance to Rob but I’m 6’5” tall. Am I going to intimidate the locals and scare the Filipina women? I love petite 5’ women but wonder if they will run?
I think you’ll be OK Roy when I was on the airplane on my way to the Philippines, I met a friend he’s a 6364 hockey player he ended up marrying a miss Philippines international
Hygiene was big on the list…but how about facial hair? My Filipina asks me to shave but I’m not sure if she is okay with a bit of stubble…In China my girlfriends would lead you to the shower and scrub you down which was super affectionate before intimacy…
Women like when a men shows his soft side once in a while...If you express your feelings in front of a woman and shed some tears, she'll know that you are human, you have feelings, and that there is a deep a desirable love in you...What's a turn off, is a constant complainer, who literally sweats everything instead of seeing the good side of things...
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines hopefully you can do better than a childish reply if you are going to respond, as I would expect someone with reasonable intelligence to do.

Some turn offs for western men: X. That filipinas are so lethargic about just accepting 1 hr queues everywhere..... NO. All these inefficiencies, makes EVERYTHING so overpriced (chicken, eggs, etc when labour supposed to be dirtcheap;) and wasting sooo much timr in wieues, in waiting for services etc whih disrespects your time and money. Its a disrespect. So westerners have good reasons to complain about such things. Improvements never hapoends if always accepts sh.t. But offcourse, do not complain 24/7. And should be happy times much more than complains.
A Filipina should never be a Foreigner's reason for retiring to the Philippines unless he has been with that Filipina for some time, and he has actually spent time in the Philippines. A man should also choose a Filipina who knows her way around the kitchen as there is something very special about a home cooked meal. And also, choose a Filipina who is not materialistic, and one who is financially wise. Lastly, it is extremely easy to get a Filipina if you know your worth as a man.
You just have to teach her how to cook good food first;) Philippines is great in many ways. But their food cuisine is not one of the strong points;) Poor, hard physical hard labourworkers in the provinces are more likely to keep their body fit. Even though they eat high carb foods. But if you go to the bigger ph cities, the obesity rate skyrocket. Example Manilla. Diabetes levels and other health problems related to obesity and high carb diets... is worse among filipinas (in big cities and OFW) Tcompared to most of the Europe. Philippine cousine contains too much high carbs, processed and cheap oils that are highly proinflamatory and cancerous. And Philippine dishes lacks real flavours. They uses up to max 5-6 spices usually across their dishes. And mostly just sugar on sugar. Or pig (which is banned in the Bible and Quran). But filipinas often have the drive, the passion, the care, etc. So just politely teach and guide her in more wordly cuisines. And she will be able to make many dishes in short time:)
the lady seems to be obsessed with money ..yes its the mans duty to provide but it is also the womans duty to be frugal and keep household cost down. In most se-asian households i know the woman is the bookkeeper and bank and the man gets a "allowance" so he dont spend it on "bad things" like sex and alcohol which is common
Gender equality & harsh opinions = a degree of bigotry IMHO. Surely can have opinions but if the man cannot measure his comments in a respectful way, that would be a red flag.
People which are loud and like to show off is a sign of their own insecurities and those that behave in this way do not recognize this character defect in their own personality but many others do !
You know, I don’t take it that way at all. I think women in the west grade a man as much, if not more according to his income. One must understand that the Philippine people have endured poverty for generations. Filipinas, are perhaps looking for security, and dependability in a man, and a good predictor of that security can be judged by his ability to provide for her. They’re essentially just being very common sensical with their lives.
Hi Rob, thanks for your reply and putting me straight. I’m watching you from the UK. I wasn’t being rude I thought I heard an Australian twang in your accent. Glad to have found your channel, have a great day 😊
The biggest challenge for us foreigners coming to the Philippines is finding and marrying a woman like Chrissy. I’d wager that most Filipinas are not like her.
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines I hope you’re right. But I’ve seen a lot of videos on YT and not a single one is as beautiful and sexy as Chrissy. I hope you don’t mind me saying this! Appreciate all your efforts to help educate all of us foreigners. My plan is to travel to the Phils later this year and am hoping to travel there often and eventually if I’m lucky enough to retire there with a Filipina gf and hopefully wife.
if a filipina cannot put her husband first before her family then that is a problem....a man with a filipina does not owe her family a pension monthy and his resources he has worked his whole life to get do NOT belong to her family...they are for her as part of his provision. The mindset of many filipinas is that all foreigners are rich....we are much more then a "D" and an ATM. It is hypocritical to profess to be a Christian and Catholic and not move in Catholics ways or doctrine or try and use the bible for a feminist agenda. There are twice as many women on the planet as men. So, if we were playing musical chairs and all the men were in a seat and the music was playing and all the women were going around...when the music stops only 1/2 of the women would get a husband....the rest would die alone.
One thing she said about a guy who's stoic is completely false in the real world. A woman wants a man who isn't a crybaby and in touch with his feelings. Be a man and take it is what women are truly attracted to. It's the same everywhere. Some of the stuff, like hygiene etc is true. If you have to hold your nose then it's time to hit the door😅.
This commonality of Filipinas being embarrassed, they just have a problem with pride, get over yourselves and stop taking your image so seriously. Filipinas insecurities make them far too worried about what others think of them, they just need to relax and feel good about themselves simply because they are a good person, not based on others opinions, & stop worrying about it
Just because a guy doesn't get along with his family does not mean that he can't get along with yours. Maybe his family is toxic, and he does not want to be around that environment. Maybe he wants to start a healthy relationship with this potential new family
You raise a good point steeler there are exceptions to all general rules
Most people think like her in the video, but they never consider why that person would stay away from their family. @@FlyMeToThePhilippines that's why one of my favorite songs is by Kenny Chesney, "Alot of Things DIfferent". You are doing well...Wish you all the best...
Having a great personality, & accomplished and mature will be the best card to lead with, instead of your wallet and how much money you have to spend. Your ability to fit in and blend in to the culture is better than trying to westernize everyone. 👧🏻❤🙏👨
Well said
Suggestion about channel. Good content, maybe go to different scenery while you go over your content
Thanks for the feedback
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines you are welcome. I have 4 more years till last kid graduates high school. I am retired policeman and my partner of many years already moved there. I was thinking of Malaybalay just south of you in the mountains where its cooler. Maybe take a day trip to that mountain town?
We have been there on trip to Davao. Yes good weather.
Good day to you Rob, thanks for your reply, good to hear from you. Let me take you back to 1989. You probably haven’t heard this song for a long time, maybe you’ve forgotten how good it is. Have a listen to Don Henley The end of the innocence. Enjoy! 😊
It was a good listen
Christy your a sweetheart.
Yes she is Bruce
Family is huge there. So a shared value of family would be nice. However, what if his brothers and sister are all drug addicts and you just don't want to be around them and their drama? Doesn't mean he wouldn't accept your family.
You raise a very good point Vernon
Rob.what was your pre retirement job? You appear to have been very successful?
I was initially a sales executive for a fortune 500 company then I was a senior executive for global 100 company and I opened a real estate brokerage in my mid 40s in Scottsdale Arizona. Thanks for watching Donald and for taking the time to comment
WOW ShiroiTora- would you consider ghost writing my novel. You handle that pen like a Samurai sword.
I have an off the topic question, I was concerned how do you know it’s actually beef or pork or chicken that they’re advertising?
Manuk = Chicken etc
Open minded versus active minded. ‘Open minded’ is used quite often to manipulate those who don’t know their own mind. Active minded says ‘I’ve made my decision but will entertain new data.’
Yes, I agree. Thanks for sharing that.
Rob, will Chrissy have her own youtube channel? is that in the plans?
Hi Glenn, we have talked about it. Not sure. 🤔
Like a car wash for men 👌
Women like when a men shows his soft side once in a while...If you express your feelings in front of a woman and shed some tears, she'll know that you are human, you have feelings, and that there is a deep a desirable love in you...What's a turn off, is a constant complainer, who literally sweats everything instead of seeing the good side of things...
As always, Clyde, you wax poetic
Materialistic woman give money, women want only money but the money is not found on the street
All women want security and Romance
men are neither banks nor slaves to work and women to enjoy life
I'm sure you get this question frequently, Chrissy is a lovely young lady. Does she have a sister?
MIchael, we do hit this question often Chrissy has a few siblings and a lot of cousins
She speaks for herself. I am certain not ALL Filipinas have to he same perspective. Good discussion but many generalizations and loaded questions.
.
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines hopefully you can do better than a childish reply if you are going to respond, as I would expect someone with reasonable intelligence to do.
Unfortunately if I don’t reply I can’t clear the message from my unanswered messages. Sometimes rarely I respond with a period, to let you know you made your point and to clear it from the cue. My only other option is to remove the message
Some turn offs for western men:
Patience is definitely required and a virtue in the Philippines
Never live your life for someone else, if they can't accept you the Way you are then they're not worth your time,
Good advice Cliff thanks for watching and taking the time to share
A Filipina should never be a Foreigner's reason for retiring to the Philippines unless he has been with that Filipina for some time, and he has actually spent time in the Philippines. A man should also choose a Filipina who knows her way around the kitchen as there is something very special about a home cooked meal. And also, choose a Filipina who is not materialistic, and one who is financially wise. Lastly, it is extremely easy to get a Filipina if you know your worth as a man.
Kray all good points. Thanks for sharing.
You just have to teach her how to cook good food first;)
Philippines is great in many ways. But their food cuisine is not one of the strong points;)
Poor, hard physical hard labourworkers in the provinces are more likely to keep their body fit.
Thanks for sharing Paul
the lady seems to be obsessed with money ..yes its the mans duty to provide but it is also the womans duty to be frugal and keep household cost down.
In most se-asian households i know the woman is the bookkeeper and bank and the man gets a "allowance" so he dont spend it on "bad things" like sex and alcohol which is common
Joke
You forgot telling her "no" and "you're wrong", lol.
😀
Gender equality & harsh opinions = a degree of bigotry IMHO. Surely can have opinions but if the man cannot measure his comments in a respectful way, that would be a red flag.
Thanks for sharing Jackson
People which are loud and like to show off is a sign of their own insecurities and those that behave in this way do not recognize this character defect in their own personality but many others do !
👍
basicaly the perfect husband is a man who has a thick wallet and his atm never goes down
You know, I don’t take it that way at all.
Maybe Jim
Is this guy Australian or American?
Alan I am American
Hi Rob, thanks for your reply and putting me straight. I’m watching you from the UK. I wasn’t being rude I thought I heard an Australian twang in your accent. Glad to have found your channel, have a great day 😊
Glad to have you onboard
So, based on what I've heard in this video, women from the Philippines don't like men who are confident.
Hi Napoleon, thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I’m not sure that was the message we meant to send.
The biggest challenge for us foreigners coming to the Philippines is finding and marrying a woman like Chrissy. I’d wager that most Filipinas are not like her.
Thanks David possibly True, but I think you would find many many are
@@FlyMeToThePhilippines I hope you’re right.
Thanks for sharing that I wish you the best and I don’t mind the compliment
if a filipina cannot put her husband first before her family then that is a problem....a man with a filipina does not owe her family a pension monthy and his resources he has worked his whole life to get do NOT belong to her family...they are for her as part of his provision.
I don't get along with my family... they are all dead 😫
Sorry to hear that Sahrokh
One thing she said about a guy who's stoic is completely false in the real world.
A woman wants a man who isn't a crybaby and in touch with his feelings. Be a man and take it is what women are truly attracted to. It's the same everywhere.
Some of the stuff, like hygiene etc is true. If you have to hold your nose then it's time to hit the door😅.
Thanks for watching Dave
This commonality of Filipinas being embarrassed, they just have a problem with pride, get over yourselves and stop taking your image so seriously. Filipinas insecurities make them far too worried about what others think of them, they just need to relax and feel good about themselves simply because they are a good person, not based on others opinions, & stop worrying about it
ONLY DATE ORPHANS!!!
😉😉😂😂😂
Perhaps a strategy
This guy just 'talks and talks'....as if the girl has no mind of her own!
Ask the question. Let her reply in her own way...
Perhaps you would enjoy “Interview with a Filipina” video- we offer different styles of videos- they differ.
money for lonely? thank you for the report .
🤔
She is far more contemplative and you are judgemental cloaked in Liberal clothing.
Okay, however your statement itself is very judgmental 🤔
