I’m a PRO RACING DRIVER and THIS is my wife. Every time she’s slower than me, we upgrade her car.
Sayu was making unbelievable progress, but she still couldn’t beat me. So time to give her almost DOUBLE the horsepower, with Ellie Sax’s 5-litre Ford Mustang

@@DequdaYou've clearly never done a timed lap if you think that. You really need to stand on brakes if you're doing a timed lap, so you can brake as late as possible and lose as little time as possible.

Those ear to ear smiles were infectious once she was a bit more confident in her abilities. Like others have said it'd be interesting to see her have another go with the MX-5 or Scott with one of the higher tier cars.
at the end she even fell in love with the atom !

this video was just a plot for scott to convince his wife to let him get a mustang
to me it felt the other way around, this experiment may cost scott the price of a mustang for his wife.
as a side note, i could not imgine a racing driver wanting a mustang. Though i would like to see Scott do a fast lap in one, for how he would beat it into corners.
PS: Mustangs bring a smile on many people's face, I had the chance to drive one for half a year. But it was also a wobbly boat.

Also would love to see the pro driver do a lap in the fastest/car that the normal person beat the time with, to see how much there is left in that car!

After I took my wife down the drag strip, she wanted to try it herself. Now, she has her own helmet and races on her own car down the track. Such a great feeling to have when the wife find joy in something you do!

This might be my new fav vid on this channel! Watching Scott figure out how to balance both his racing driver intensity and direct instruction with being sweet and compassionate and encouraging to his wife was pretty funny 😂.
Sayu is amazing! Such a fast learner and she made this video incredible with her energy and excitement.

It’s pretty overwhelming for people that don’t drive hard regularly. A lot of people don’t realize how hard you can brake so she probably thought she was braking hard when she wasn’t. But, usually give them a bit of time and some coaching and they’ll open up and get more comfortable.
And the smile on 7:17 , she experienced adrenaline for the first time

For someone who started so unsure and timid, Sayu brought her A game. I honestly would not have expected someone who was that unsure in an MX5 and Audi A1 to then have such a big smile on her face with a V8 5 litre monster car. I love seeing someone enjoying themselves this much. You definitely need Sayu back for some other challenges. Also I agree with some other comments, put the guest back in the first car again to see how they've improved.
Last time I heard of scotts wife being mentioned was during scotts 24 hour lifestream sim race to help kids in colombia. Great times! And to Mansell senior: Im still proud of your son!

I still would like the Scott fast lap in the fastest car to see the difference
I have a Colombian fried and she does the same as Sayu, and pronounces everything that starts with an S as though is it an Es (for us Brits anyway). So my question is, does Scott become Escott? And I think Escott needs to get Sayu (or is that Esayu?) a 718 Boxster. Just saying! Oh and I loved the Colombian two minutes (half an hour); so true!
That's because Spanish doesn't allow words to begin with S + consonant. Therefore you don't have stación, you have estación. You don't have strella, you have estrella. That feature then transfers to English and you get the same thing. It's called 'first language interference ' and it results in the characteristic accents that countries have in English!
Spanish does allow words to start with an S plus vowel. So that's why you have words like salir, sacar, etc.

This is why us 'Muricans love muscle cars. We know they're not the fastest around track, but they ooze so much charm and charisma you don't care. Just smiles.
This was amazing. At the start she didn't seem to be enjoying it at all. But by the end, completely loving it. Seeing someone properly understand racing for the first time is magical. Knowing it was such a big part of Scott's life she finally got to experience made it all the better. I get the feeling date night might include some track time together now.

Really liked this one and the time she did in the Porsche maybe shows how driver-friendly and capable their cars are.
Definitely, I was expecting a car that the roof comes off to be a bit unstable in the corners but Porsche definitely know their stuff...

Loved the video. More proof that upgrading your driving skills is the #1 thing. Porkiest Miata slays an over 400hp V8 Mustang driven by someone with a professional driving coach talking them through each braking zone, turn in and exit. Lots of fun!
