  • The U.S. mainstream media is acting as a propaganda machine for the U.S. drive to keep the Ukraine war going - while Ukrainians and Russians fight and die - and weaken Russia.

We are threatened by China having a Navy because, you know, how else would you have a Navy if you didn't put boats in the sea and, at least in the case of other countries, have your Navy boats mostly in the seas by your own country? Of course there are Chinese boats in the South CHINA Sea! It's in the name, people.

I can understand China building military bases in those coral islands in the South China Sea. China is surrounded by US military bases in the 1st and 2nd island chains, with thousands of US troops in South Korea, Philippines, Japan, Australia, Taiwan, Guam, and Micronesia. Now Victoria Nuland and her compatriots have been busy visiting countries like India, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Cambodia. Does the US still feel threatened by China??

Just think - if Ukraine had refused to join NATO over a year ago, stopped arming its army with lethal western weapons since 2014, and stopped vilifying minorities in Ukraine, there would have been no war, and 300,000 people would still be alive. Oh, and had they not succumbed to American led regime change with the Maidan coup, Crimea would still be part of Ukraine.

@Misty Moor, Ukraine is de facto in NATO, started long ago when they signed the cooperation agreements back in 1990s, and having NATO military “advisors” since early march 2014, and having Ukrainian troops (like Trident, Aidar, Azov , etc, and later on in 2016 their regular marine forces) trained in NATO countries. And Ukrainian followers of Stepan Bandera’s ideology have been trained in U.S. and Canada since Leonid Kravchuk was president in Kyiv, but back then that number never passed more than couple of hundreds, those are people in their sixties now.

I was so conservative at the time that I was literally sitting in the auditorium at a Bible college where they were putting the news up on the big projector so that we could watch our country go to war live. Coming from another war criminal, that says it all right there.
This is nothing short of an act of war against not only Russia. But an act of war against Germany,a NATO partner. And from what I remember (article 5 of NATO) that an attack on one,is an attack on all.
So congrats US. You just declared war on Europe,Russia and are now picking a fight with China.
US is out to fight and declare war on the whole world.
Time the whole world boycott the US dollar and sanctions the US like they’ve sanctioned everyone else. See how the shoe fits on the other foot.
The world had such a unique opportunity after the Berlin Wall fell. And opportunity to for once work together more or less and Russia actually asking to join NATO.
But US greed and imperialism and wanting it all for themselves has shown the world what the US is really about. And here’s a surprise. It’s not for democracy.

The west has mischaracterized Russia's security concerns by saying Russia wants its sphere of influence. The war in Ukraine is not about Russia demanding a sphere of influence. It's about Russia fighting an existential threat -- NATO at the gates of Russia. If Ukraine joins NATO, and allows the US to station nuclear missiles there, a Russian president would have only anout 6 minutes to decide to launch a nuclear counterstrike that would end humanity. Putin doesn't want to be put in that position, and he doesn't want that for future Russian presidents too.
But that's something impossible for the Biden regime to understand. The war is fought over sonething this simple to understand.

As an ex-NATO cold-war cog, since the dissolusion of the Soviet Union, I've seen no point in NATO continuing, given that its original raison d'etra was now irrelevant. Not that I personally had that much faith in NATO whilst serving and certainly never considered Soviet Russia my enemy.
However, I was growing extreme left in my political outlook, which has never diminished.
NATO is OBSOLETE - AS ARE NUCLEAR WEAPONS or the notion of M.A.D. All SANE humans know what a nuclear conflagration would do to all human societies, and most of us know how a similar - even graver - threat to the Earth's biosphere would ensue, accelerating the ongoing mass extinction.
It is time for the Western Powers to change their act... Or WE WILL CHANGE IT FOR YOU. DON'T JOIN THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL CONGRESSIONAL COMPLEX. Don't even sign-on to the military. And if conscription is enforced, then all must protest it.
Time to put HEALTHCARE, HOUSING, FREE EDUCATION, EQUAL RIGHTS AND THE BIOSPHERE AT THE TOP OF ALL 'SOVEREIGN' AGENDAS.

US has to find an external enemy in order to divert the internal problem. In the cold war, we engaged in Korean war, Vietnam war. After soviet collapse, we started to identify enemy again. The rising of EU became potential enemy, then the rising Japanese economy was smashed. Then comes the twin tower explosion, what a perfect timing, we have to fabricate a WMD story to go into Irag and to declare US military might over a poor middle eastern country. After all the mess we did in that part of the world, we started creating enemy in the east, Russia and China. Look at the Ukraine war, since day-1, US and its media never stop painting a picture that China, a country that clearly has no business with this war, "could" be supporting Russia, but not India who held the same position. This image of making Russia-China as the enemy of US and its ally was started by George W Bush (911 shifted US narrative). All the lies are just for the sake of creating a lasting enemy. Look through the history of US in the past 70 years, we are destined to a dead trap. What have we done people, we are doomed if continue the path!

Not only Minsk. Russia has for 3 decades insisted that the US keep its solemn promise that NATO would not advance an inch east of a reunited Germany.
Keeping to a solemn promise seems to be an impossible thing for the US to do. Actually, it's worse than that. After the US tore up its nuclear deal with Iran, it demanded that Iran keep to the torn up deal, while the US let itself free of its obligations! As Tulsi Gabbard said, the US has a "F... you" attitude.
No wonder Lavrov said the US was agreement incapable. And no wonder we have endless wars. Before peace is attained in Ukraine, the US is already marching to war with China by 2025 on the other side of the globe.

I don't follow world geopolitics, but I was very suspicious about this war when on TV programs in Portugal, there were always several experts supposedly to clarify the viewers and everyone, strictly everyone, all had the same opinion.
As Portugal is systematically a fervent supporter of whatever the US position is, I thought that was the case once again.
I happen to watch also German (DW), French and Spanish TV talk shows too, and it's exactly the same on all of them. Of course, I can't guarantee that there haven't been dissenting opinions transmitted at times, I've never seen one.
Once again about Portugal, Portuguese television stations broadcast for long periods of time images of destroyed Ukraine, of elderly people crying, children and women crying while an expert on the other half of the screen explains for the umpteenth time the intrinsic extreme cruelty of Russian troops and Putin, plus his desire to become the new czar of a new imperial Russia that would include not only the Baltic States and East European States but all of Scandinavia and Western Europe. Yes, the thesis here on TV is that either Russia is stopped in Ukraine or the whole of Europe will be a vassal of Moscow where submission to Russian interests will reign unbridled.

America needs to take care of our homelessness, economic prosperity. We should look up to China. They're the economic powerhouse now... their citizens got to enjoy world class subways, high-speed trains, top-notch airports... They're the master builders now. All the while American homelessness is getting out of control... The war on American prosperity is all we need, not sending billions overseas

Not my usual channel but truth is truth, we are all on the same side in a search for truth! Great to hear those of a left persuasion getting down to it, at least in UK this is not generally happening. Had to laugh a little at the depiction of republican politicians as either very very very very right wing...or...only ( lol) very very right wing! Seems we can't be right wing enough..go much further and we'll fall of earth, lol.

... a good and important talk ... I just wished "voices" like yours would sanitize your own use of words originated in corporate media and US state department propaganda (just a little bit more) ... for example: Russia did not invade Ukraine on February 24th as much as Russia was invited to interven in defence of an upcoming major assault on the Easter part of Ukraine, the Donbass and Crimea, by an 8 year long NATO trained, financed and heavily weaponized Ukrainian regular army, against its initially own people there (a civil war in which these people lost over 14’000 dead and countless wounded, most civilians, not to mention the hardship and anguish this caused in this years) and against all the commitments made (signed) by Ukraine, Germany, France and the UN security council, in the Minsk accords ... No, "Russia invaded Ukraine" is definitely not a term used in a fair and critical reflection on this topic and it's par with (bullshit like) "Putin's war" et all and is intended to create some sense of maleficence on Russia's part ... 🤔 ...

In the Wall Street Journal, you have to distinguish between the news and editorial pages. I assume you are reading an editorial or op-ed from the editorial page.
Before Rupert Murdoch bought them, the WSJ was one of the best newspapers in the world. They were particularly good in foreign reporting, where their facts often conflicted with the U.S. State Department, the New York Times, and the Washington Post.
I remember a WSJ news story from Afghanistan in which the reporter interviewed a woman in Kabul who described how she used to work for the nonaligned, left-leaning government, and the Soviets had provided them with housing, electricity, phones, running water, and education -- with male and female teachers teaching co-educational classes, with equality for women throughout the government. After the American -supported civil war, Kabul was left in rubble.
One of their reporters was A. Kent MacDougall, who covered the press, and, when he retired to teach journalism at UC Berkeley, wrote an article for Monthly Review about his experiences at the WSJ. He said he had been a Marxist, whose heroes were Eugene V. Debs and Henry A. Wallace. He stuck to the accepted standards of newsworthiness, accuracy and fairness. Reconciling radicalism and reporting for the capitalist press made him a better reporter.
I was sold on the WSJ editorial page after they balanced their right-wing columnists with Alexander Cockburn.
Then after the WSJ family ownership passed on to the next generation, Rupert Murdoch bought it (as if you could buy credibility). Obviously, Murdoch's newly-installed London editors had abandoned the American (and Marxist) standards of accuracy and fairness. Murdoch left the WSJ in rubble.
I cancelled my subscription, so I don't know how it's doing today. It was worth $400 a year to read a newspaper every morning that could deliver the facts with uncanny accuracy and objectivity. But a PR operation for the Republican party isn't worth the time it takes to read it.
Search Google for "a. kent mcdougall monthly review".

That's right, religious fanatics set sail to take over another country, decimate the indigenous population and then take over the world in the name of God. Don't give me that 'Jesus loves you bullshit', these f*ckers know the bible especially the old testamant where anything goes in the name of the lord, their kindred spirit is israel.
One must not look away from the religious aspect of all that's happening in the name of freedom and democracy, these idiots believe the scriptures as the true word of God and as Bill Hicks once said, 'fundamentalist christians are in the whitehouse with their fingers on the button, tell me when lord, tell me when, let me be your servant lord'. They want Armageddon and to then rise to heaven

It felt a bit like the host was not listening to his guest fully, so there was a bit of a less smooth conversation flow. Other than that , it was an EXCELLENT show and both the gentleman informed us of many crucial things , so thank you to them both!

I believe all the flagged channels undergo massive shadowbanning.

While all the assumption about the US could be true, we need to empathize with the US that they have all the reasons to become insecure when other countries begin to become indepedent of needing to lean on the The US for natural resources and engergy. The US economy depend heavily on the demand of US dollars and independent of other countries is definitely a threat to the US consumerism economy. So, what the US is doing is just trying to protect its dominance. The US didn't have any other purpose or plan to hurt and destroy other countries.
