If I owned Netflix I would write you both a blank check to film a 30 minute weekly sitcom. No matter what you're doing, it's the best few minutes of my whole week.
I have a reference book with different cast on’s and off’s. I’d rather have a collection of your videos…..easier to learn seeing what Arne is doing. Keep up the good work.
I knit a top last summer that ended with i-cord. I had to go back and pick up the first four stitches. It doesn't look near as nice as starting with one! It's so wonderful to see you both again! I would watch you boil water!
Another valuable lesson. I’ve missed sit and knit for a bit so I’ve been watching your old videos. I simply enjoy how you share your life and your skills. Yes, Arne, sharing what you know about the basics is a great idea! After 40 years, your videos have reintroduced me to knitting with new (for me) and better techniques. I love it. I’m having such a good time. Thank you for doing this. I look forward to spending time with several times a week!
I once used an I-cord bind off around the edge of a sweater neck. This cast on would be nice to use around the neck on a sweater that is knit top down.
You two are a hoot! 😁 🥰 I would like to learn more about the provisional cast on. And by "learn more", I mean "watch and listen to Arne and Carlos demonstrate and talk about it!"
I hear everyone at knit group talking about all these cast on and offs. It’s nice to see what they are talking about, so yes please on some more videos. This one was great. You guys are so enjoyable to watch
I'm going to try this just so I can "squeeze and slide" LOL! Actually, I love an icord edge and will certainly give this a go. Last time I did it was rather odd. It involved winding yarn around the needle and a strand of yarn in another colour. Then I picked up the wound stitches and kinit the sweater and at the end I put the needle back into the original wound around 'stitches'' and knit those as an Icord bind off (removing the strand of yarn). Always good to learn a new way. Thanks guys!
Thanks! Kind of fun to think about when I would use it. I must say, you make everything look easy. I am so glad I’m a subscriber (!! Sounds like a Monkees song!!) because I have just run mad in your pattern shop. Now I must get to work.
I think there is an icord bind off too. That would make an interesting finish to balance the cast on. Thanks for demonstrating, it looks easier than I would have thought!
I do like an i-cord cast on for the edge of a mitten. Thank you for showing it and for always bringing a smile 😊 Really appreciate you showing these techniques
"Today we're going to teach you a cast on we never use..." Absolutely hilarious!! Love it!! Who knew that an I-Cord/Tubular cast on would be so much fun?? Thanks!
I did this i-cord with my cardigan, because I wouldn' t close it by buttons. I knitted the i-cord from the beginning of my knitting and it looks fine. So I am fast in or out my cardigan. 😆😆 Thank you for showing it another way and let raising some ideas in my head. 😁👍👍🌻 Communication is everything! Stay save!
I am Team Squeeze! Thank you for another valuable lesson. I miss you guys on Wednesday, but am thankful for the time you have given to brighten my Sunday. ❤️
Love Arne's utilitarian atitude: 'You don't really need to do that.' Hooray. I'm sure my mother and my grandmother and all my aunts went through their whole knitting lives using only one cast on method.
That’s hilarious guys. Very amusing. I have used the icord for the top of baby hats in the past ( as a different look for them) but never thought of using it for a cast on ( I am also long tail cast on person) but I shall give this squeeze and slide a thought for future use. Even if I don’t use it I still loved the episode. Very funny about the old knitting needles sitting on the table. They look brilliant. Hope your weekend was good and see you soon with more tutorials. 🧶🧶
This is a great tutorial, thank you very much! I quite like the cast-on, I think it might solve a problem I keep having. I'm also very much interested in other cast-on varieties, as well as tutorials in general. I love learning more about knitting, and your tutorials are always easy to follow, very entertaining, and most helpful!
I always do long tail cast on, it works for me, why change it if it works. I love it that you are rebellious Arne! Really look forward to my Sunday catch up guys. Thank you. X
hi guys i liked the i cord cast on what a great idea it gave me some ideas for some projects i am doing i was just looking through my book of birds from your book i am looking to do some birds for easter well once again thanks for your cast on i would love to see more to thanks and take care and see you next week
No matter what you do it is always so very entertaining! Yes, more ways to cast on or anything else you would like to discuss. I often watch the old “Sit and Knit for a Bit” episodes which I really do miss. Perhaps we’ll be seeing more of you soon, I hope!
This is a cast on I’ve never used but could see being a great edge for many items. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being so real and authentic…never over rehearsed…
You are right! I probably wouldn't use it either 😁! It is interesting though. You two are so funny. We need to laugh these days. It isn't Wednesday but I am sitting and knitting a bit, no a bunch! I miss Sit and Knit For a Bit. The week isn't quite the same. My "Valentines " are getting cabled scarves with hearts and double cables in the middle of each heart. I just finished the last one. Now for the part I don't like.....weaving in the tails. I am not sure what my next project will be. Maybe one of my new patterns from you. I took advantage of that wonderful sale! Happy Valentines Day.......tomorrow!
I just started knitting a pattern I invented, and thanks to your tip about how to measure the tail I wrapped 30 times then started my long-tail cast-on, and this was probably the only time in my life that I only had to cast on ONCE! Thanks guys!
Man you guys are amazing! You always come up with a new and cool thing to add to our knitting toolbox! I always enjoy every episode! hugs to you both and may your St. Valentine's Day!!!! Love Dorinda
Yes to more cast on methods. These videos are so useful and really help me with my knitting. I've already switched to Norwegian knitting after watching your videos. Definitely find it easier and better on the hands and fingers! Thank you so much!
I like that one, I think it would look good. It's great to learn new things even if we don't use them. Love your snow, we've got rain and wind. Thanks for another happy few minutes xx
I have not used that cast on either but it was fun watching. I think it might be nice on a cardigan and I do believe there is an I-cord bind off. On to the best one !!
I am making temperature blankets for my five grandkids using the icord cast on. Also doing i cord edging and will do i cord bind off. Gives a nice detail.
I miss you guys so much. I still wish you did a sit and knit a bit , even if just once a month. I so enjoyed a cup of tea and knitting and a visit with you. Even if you think nothing ever happens. ☺️
Would look great with a cuffed mitten or glove with a Fair Isle pattern. I'm going to given it a go with the next pair of gloves I knit. Thanks for the demonstration.
Thank you, Arne and Carlos, for sharing the i-cord cast on. I like the look of it. I recently knit a blanket which I finished it with an i-cord on the edges…I love it! I’d send you a photo but I don’t know how. I’ll get my grandson to show me😊
Thank you for this tutorial. I used whatever the pattern calls for a cast in sometimes old Norwegian cast on, Italian 2 color cast on. I do like I cord bind off to give more definition to edge of shawl or sleeve cuff.
Hej, Arne and Carlos! This is cool. I can see doing i-cord cast on also for smaller projects too: mittens, gloves, fingerless gloves , hats and so on! Tusind Tak ❤️
Another great cast on tutorial. I hope you will be able to do Bind Off tutorials too, at some point. I struggle to get a really neat edge. Thank you once again .
Aha! Carlos’ sweater yoke has the same pattern as we saw on the Vintage Sweater (part 1) video, am I correct? That was such a beautiful sweater from Arne’s grandmother, and I loved how you could see what a hard worker she was, by the worn patterns on the front, and the elbows. Great tutorial, I intend to try this cast-on for a quick and casual hat soon!
Thank you for sharing this new idea of a cast on. I’m not sure how to use it but if you create something with this cast on in design, I’m anxious to see it!
What an interesting way to cast on. I’m not sure that I would use it but I like the finish of it. It reminds me of the rib in crochet that you do in one direction, then you pick up the stitches in the side of it for the main body of the work. It seemed like you were in an impish mood today Carlos, you made me smile as I am often like that too 😁 Arne, you did well to concentrate! Tak for another technique and more smiles! Be well, Sally 🌹 ps, I started my first colourwork!!
If I owned Netflix I would write you both a blank check to film a 30 minute weekly sitcom. No matter what you're doing, it's the best few minutes of my whole week.
😊❤️
Me too. No matter how I feel when I start the video, I know I will have smiled or more often laughed before it’s over🎈
I have a reference book with different cast on’s and off’s. I’d rather have a collection of your videos…..easier to learn seeing what Arne is doing. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the feedback Cheryl
So funny! Today we're going to teach you a cast-on that we never use! You made me lol. Love seeing you two so relaxed! A very nice cast-on, btw.
You never know it might come in handy!
The snow outside looks so tranquil..... just a sweet touch to this wonderful lesson.
i love watching Arne do the Norwegian Purl...his hands flip as though he is doing a magic trick...i love it
I knit a top last summer that ended with i-cord. I had to go back and pick up the first four stitches. It doesn't look near as nice as starting with one! It's so wonderful to see you both again! I would watch you boil water!
Thank you for the tutorial suggestion😂
Another valuable lesson. I’ve missed sit and knit for a bit so I’ve been watching your old videos. I simply enjoy how you share your life and your skills. I’m having such a good time. Thank you for doing this. I look forward to spending time with several times a week!
Thank you. Great tutorial. You made a previously cumbersome technique straightforward.
Oh Araignee how I agree with you. I need Arnes & Carlos weekly story time. Gentlemen please come back to us!!!!
👍🏻😊
Love the honest intro and laughter! Thanks for rhe entertaining tutorial!!
I once used an I-cord bind off around the edge of a sweater neck. This cast on would be nice to use around the neck on a sweater that is knit top down.

We are glad you liked it!
Even if I didn’t love to knit, I would watch you two! Nice to see you again!
Good to see you Laurel!
Thank you for showing us the YouTubular cast on. ☺
I love you guys so much. You're like the kind of people i imagine live in a snow globe. 💜
That is a first😊❤️
I'm a rebellious knitter, too, Arne. It's the best way to be!
You two are geniuses at design! Thank you for trying so hard to keep us in your loop!
Thank you for watching us!
The two of you are so funny, love watching you
Yes, Arne, you are a rebel! Keep it up! Thanks for the laughs and the instruction.

Thank you for sharing Claire!
I see it is snowing there. How nice to be inside knitting. Love the tips guys!
happy valentines day guys
You two are so silly. Love watching you
Thanks! Kind of fun to think about when I would use it.
I must say, you make everything look easy.
I am so glad I’m a subscriber (!! Sounds like a Monkees song!!) because I have just run mad in your pattern shop. Now I must get to work.
Thank you for subscribing!
I think this edge would look great on a jacket. Thanks for another fun and informative episode.
I think there is an icord bind off too. That would make an interesting finish to balance the cast on. Thanks for demonstrating, it looks easier than I would have thought!
lol… Carlos’s honesty is hilarious!!!!! Love you both!
❤️
I do like an i-cord cast on for the edge of a mitten. Thank you for showing it and for always bringing a smile 😊 Really appreciate you showing these techniques
Thank you!

I knitted a purse that used the i-cord cast on. Very pretty.
Stay save!
That sounds nice
I am Team Squeeze! Thank you for another valuable lesson. I miss you guys on Wednesday, but am thankful for the time you have given to brighten my Sunday. ❤️
👍🏻
Love Arne's utilitarian atitude: 'You don't really need to do that.' Hooray. I'm sure my mother and my grandmother and all my aunts went through their whole knitting lives using only one cast on method.
Love how that looks, I've only ever done I-cord as a scarf edging but that cast on would look great on a tunic
That’s hilarious guys. Very amusing. I have used the icord for the top of baby hats in the past ( as a different look for them) but never thought of using it for a cast on ( I am also long tail cast on person) but I shall give this squeeze and slide a thought for future use. Hope your weekend was good and see you soon with more tutorials. 🧶🧶
That looks great. I made a jacket with an icord edge but it was added at the end. This is much better.
Easy, fast, and fun! I like the neat edge, had not considered doing this, but see that it could make a nice design element. Thanks!
That is great, we have several other knitting tutorials on our channel site
I love this cast on for shawls. The edge is so neat and pretty.
Yes!
I always do long tail cast on, it works for me, why change it if it works. I love it that you are rebellious Arne! Really look forward to my Sunday catch up guys. Thank you. X

I feel like I'm right next door. It's snowing out my window, too. I'll try the cast on if I'm not laid up from all this shoveling! :)
🤗Good to see you both! Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentinrs day!

Love this cast on! I am going to try it on a hat. Thanks so much.
I decided to try this cast on for a top down cape style shawl.
This is a cast on I’ve never used but could see being a great edge for many items. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being so real and authentic…never over rehearsed…
Thank you for watching!
This was a cool tid bit of knowledge, I didn't know this type of cast on only the cast off ,thanks
You are right! I probably wouldn't use it either 😁! It is interesting though. You two are so funny. We need to laugh these days. It isn't Wednesday but I am sitting and knitting a bit, no a bunch! I use this as well on a cast-off on shawls to mage the edge softer around your neck.
Love these little moments every Sunday , thank you for sharing your talents with us ! 🇨🇦💕
Thank you for watching!
We miss you on sit and knit. Hope you come back for longer videos
Yes to more cast on methods. These videos are so useful and really help me with my knitting. I've already switched to Norwegian knitting after watching your videos. Definitely find it easier and better on the hands and fingers! Thank you so much!
That is great to hear!
Brilliant, Arne! Cheers, Carlos!

Thanks for the information and the humour, love you guys🧶❤️

You are welcome!
I would love to see more cast on methods!
Have you seen the two previous ones?
@@ARNECARLOS yes I have thank you they were fab
I have not used that cast on either but it was fun watching. I think it might be nice on a cardigan and I do believe there is an I-cord bind off. On to the best one !!
Great idea….different cast ons! Then bind offs.
Yes!
Always good to learn.
I am making temperature blankets for my five grandkids using the icord cast on. Also doing i cord edging and will do i cord bind off. Gives a nice detail.
That sounds lovely and have fun knitting your temperature blanket!
I miss you guys so much. I still wish you did a sit and knit a bit , even if just once a month. I so enjoyed a cup of tea and knitting and a visit with you. Even if you think nothing ever happens. ☺️
make sure you tune in tomorrow!
This was a fun episode! I am always so curious about what is on the bookshelf by Arne... I would love a book tour someday!
Coming up!
Great to know this. Recently I saw a sweater with this & had no idea what it was. Now I do
Thanks
You are welcome!
Thank you for sharing this..I really like the look of this cast on.
You are welcome Carolyn!
That was very interesting and quite a lovely cast on. I can see lots of possibilities. Thank you!
You are welcome Diana!
Yes I'm interested in forecast pn.
I have used an icord bind/off, but never tried it as a cast/on, this was a great idea. Thanks !
👍🏻
Always a pleasure watching your videos! Makes my day just to watch your creative talents!
That would be nice thick edge for mitten cuffs.I want to do some gauntlet type mitts and embroider them afterwards.👍🇨🇦♥️
Would look great with a cuffed mitten or glove with a Fair Isle pattern. I'm going to given it a go with the next pair of gloves I knit. Thanks for the demonstration.
You are welcome Susan!
Thank you, Arne and Carlos, for sharing the i-cord cast on. I like the look of it. I recently knit a blanket which I finished it with an i-cord on the edges…I love it! I’d send you a photo but I don’t know how. I’ll get my grandson to show me😊

Yes, I would like to know more, ways to cast on. This I cord has a great finish for some projects. For me, would be shawls. Thanks guys🤗👏🏼👍🏼
You are welcome!
I would love to see more cast on tutorials. Plz plz
Have you seen the two previous ones?
Thank you, Arne. This finally makes sense! I’ve been certainly learning a lot from your tutorials.
That is great to hear Joan
I would love to see you design a pattern for a women’s cardigan with a contrasting i cord edge. Great demo guys, Happy Valentines Day! ❤️
I can see this edging on a Chanel-style jacket
Oh yes please!💕
Yes, there is an icord cast off, looks great too
Yay!
Thank you for this tutorial. I used whatever the pattern calls for a cast in sometimes old Norwegian cast on, Italian 2 color cast on. I do like I cord bind off to give more definition to edge of shawl or sleeve cuff.
😊
It would look nice for add on pockets, with the icord making the open edge.
I’ve learnt some new again thank you looking forward to next week
Hej, Arne and Carlos! This is cool.
I can see doing i-cord cast on also for smaller projects too: mittens, gloves, fingerless gloves , hats and so on! Tusind Tak ❤️
That would give a really nice finish
@@ARNECARLOS ❤️
So enjoy watching you two. Squeezing and sliding, hilarious.
Thank you for watching MaryAnn!
I love the i-cord cast on. It would be a nice way to start a sweater, using a contrasting colour. But how would I finish the neck with an i-cord?
So interesting!!! Thanks. . . and would love to see other versions of casting on!! I always use long tail so it’s fun seeing different methods!!!
You guys are hilarious today.
Another great cast on tutorial. I hope you will be able to do Bind Off tutorials too, at some point. I struggle to get a really neat edge. Thank you once again .
That would have to be on a very special project for me! Looks so pretty!

I love learning anything from you guys! Whatever you’re teaching I’m there. I’ve watched your Knit Stars class so many times. ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!

Hi guys. Lovely video. I enjoyed it. Such a giggle, as always. I never knew there were so many ways to cast on xxx
There are plenty!
Funny, I'm just about to do an i-cord cast on for a brioche scarf swatch. And yes, there is a nice i-cord bind off. Nice to giggle with you guys.
Great timing!
I love it ! Thanks!
Hi Guys..sorry.....
Good seeing you both ..
I dont knit but love listening..culd you please do some more cooking videos
There will be more cooking videos coming up
Very clever cast on 👍🏼. Love it 😊. Nice to see you, have a great Sunday❤️.
