My friend you saved my bacon! I’m taking a class with my dear friend/teacher doing a brioche shawl whose pattern comes from Europe. It has this totally convoluted way of getting you to an I Cord with 9 stitches left on the needle. My friend and her husband got the ding dang flu and I messed up what we did in class. I was stuck out in the middle of the lake with no oars and not a breeze in sight. Then the Lord took pity on me and led me to you. Bless your sweet heart. I love that chevron shawl. Looks difficult enough without being just plain stupid💕
I’m eager to start your Fiber Fest Shawl. I received the three skeins (Flying blue, Festival, Madrid). You are a creative genius. I’m a fan! I go to a fabulous yarn shop (Lamb Shoppe) in Denver Colorado and will share my project as I progress with your shawl.
Big hugs Stephen!!! I am part of a KAL with some friends. I was trying to figure out how to do an I Cord Tab cast on. The instructions made no sense. I googled for a tutorial and there you were, demonstrating and you made it so easy. I never would have guessed those last three picked up stitches! BTW I have loved your patterns for years; now I will look for your tutorials!!🥰
Oh my gosh I just Love this shawl. The colors are soft with pops of brightness and it just looks so elegant. Oh yeah, really nice! You've totally got what it takes!!!
Hi Stephen! I have a question. Why do some instructions say to rotate the left needle to re-orient the last 3 picked up stitches in the i-cord? It seems neater to keep them as is, without the rotation.
Hi, thank you very much for your great videos! I have a question for you, I’m new to spinning my own yarn, and want to knit one of your (modular?) shawls with my first yarns which is not professionally even.... as if I knit a shawl with different yarn weights. Would a modular construction be best or do you have another tips for me? Thanks in advance 🌟✨🌟
@@StephenWest I love them, they are my favorits, together with my HiyaHiya sharp. I use adapters that I dremeled a bit so they fit for the red lace cables of chiaogoo. They have the best cables of all brands in the world!

You love creating while you knit - and that's what I love! Thank you for this presentation! Hey, your needles - are these Chiaogoo red lace ones?
Yes, I think they are.

Cute lil cuddly creature around ur neck😌❣️
Oh did y'all see the sneaky thing he did with the tail while picking up stitches.
Pick up and knit is not my forte. Needs some work.
There are many much better i-cord cast-ons! This one is sloppy and ugly!
