I can't seem to get my 84 to accept the new cdi box the reverse light comes on and the wire that bypasses reverse also makes the engine turnover
When taking my ohm reading on the stator wire (red/black) it remains at 1, no change at all. Not sure how to proceed considering the bike will spark occasionally
My 1985 200s is missing the pulse rotor itself,,,Is there any way to bypass that? Thanks in advance ✌
I bought a used kids ATV 50cc he told me the carburetor needed replacing and gave me the new one and paid 100. for it. I asked him if it had electric start he told me no. It has the GY6 and when he tried to turn ignition on the whole thing spun in the fender. I noticed it had very large tires for a kids ATV the front are 20x9.75x8 and the rear tires are 16x10x8 and on the handlebars left side there is an on off button and a lever with a circle and lightning bolt in the middle which made me think. Before I took it home he told me it runs 30mph and it might be a 90cc. When it was home I changed out the carburetor and noticed the one I took off is a Mikuni USA. I tried to kick it over but it wouldn’t start but I smelled gas so I took the seat off and there was a battery tray and pos and neg wires with the rubber boots black and red with + -. I bought a battery and ran a wire from pos to starter and sure enough it turned over. I started tracing the wires the ignition was bad it was turning with the key and I took it out and the red and blue wires were broke apart so I ordered a new one but I’m still waiting I ordered a coil with the spark plug wire it came and I noticed the old one has one connection and one wire plugged into it but the black was attached to the one of two bolts and the new coil has two connectors my first question is does it matter if the black and either red or yellow connect to either? I started tracing the wires after I bought a CDI with the coil but I only seen a regulator rectifier before that is a square 1.5” small aluminum looking piece I was thinking a relay but don’t know. The guy I bought it from said he bought it used several years ago and that is probably the guy who put big tires and rims on it along with the Mikuni carburetor I will clean and put back on when I can get a spark. Aren’t all of these supposed to have a CDI because I can’t find one just the coil the rectify/regulator and the small square box. I never seen a GY6 it’s a long case Gray paint on the cover with a word that looks like it’s missing one letter two a most it says HER CHE and just a line worn that was a letter. I googled but nothing comes up but I can tell it’s old with kick and electric start all the ones I’ve seen on TH-cam including yours have a short round raised case cover mine is 20” long with a few raised lines in the middle. I can’t find a serial # anywhere on it. I don’t know what cc it is. I’m still waiting on the ignition I ordered almost a week and a half ago. Have you ever seen these old Chinese ATV’s and have any idea what the letters mean on the long housing cover? I’m going to try the ignition when it comes. I watched one of your other no spark vids and took the ignition plug with wires and connected the red and black together and noticed when I added the blue the front light came on. Please if you can give me some idea what size engine and make and why there isn’t a CDI? If I can’t do anything after I get the ignition like I said the tires are big but there knobby like new tires no wear or dry rot and they probably cost what I paid for the ATV but I really want to get it running for my grandson and the only plastic left is the front that has a triangular with the plastic down the middle to look like two lights but they cut the fenders off my guess is because of the big tires. And will a kids 50cc ATV do 30mph with those big tires? Thanks in advance.
What are the readings if it's all good and how do you track down the problem ??

Yes I have a handa trx 200 1983 I put a new cdi box on it and put a new pulser and stator as well I have the right amount of power to all of them but still no spark what do I do now can you help me. Chris trammell and thank you

I just bought a 1985 200s atc couple days ago. It had started but had some mech issues which i pretty much attended. afterwards i tried starting it(with no decompressor unit) makes it hard. Out of about 10 pulls it would start maybe once but wouldn't run long at all. that happened couple times. I got worn out and tried to figured why not starting, pulled the plug out attached to wire set on cylinder head and No spark? i use a string on decompressor lever on head to open valve otherwise it too hard to pull. Cannot understand why all sudden theres no spark when that wasnt a problem before? Maybe when i pulled the tank off i hit a wire? Would holding open the decomp lever give me the no spark issue? I tried pulling with lever not open and still seemed no spark. I guess i need to unplug cdi and replug to see if it doesn't something? any help would be great. thx
I have a old 1985 200es I am fixing up, looking for front forks rusted out.. Top is fine just bottom end.. Not sure where to source some thanks L
My 1982 200e has spark for 30-45 seconds,,runs great,,then dies due to no spark,,just cuz it came back dont mean it stays good,,thats where im at,,isee some others have this issue,,still looking for the answer,,thanks nov,6,2021

Something I have done is rub a little of the little Marvel oil on the prongs
of the CDI connector to stop corrosion in the future.

Replaced my stator coil for the ignition, pulse generator, cdi, ignition coil, and wiring harness still no spark any thoughts? Didnt replace the other coil on the stator could this be the problem?

Please help me I'm not getting spark chinese 110 quad my readings are
Green to ground=0 ohm
Blue/white toground= 130 ohm
Black/red to ground=375 ohm
Black/ yellow to ground=0 oh
That sent before i was ready.
There is one more black/yellow to ground= 0 ohm
It has the 5 wires square connection like the one shown

Hi Harvey, I got a 1982 200E Big Red with no spark.One day i wanted to ride it and i found that out. I'm getting an open circuit on the black with red stripe pin.You think that means the stator went bad? Thanks

I had a 1977 Kawa KE 250 , i had to put the cdi box in oven at 170F for 45 min. every month to get out the moist.
