Thanks the wire in the headlight was messing with me and it somehow got unplugged and the bike had no so I plugged it back in and the bike fired right up
Hey Jimmy; thanks for doing this video. I got to a point where I was troubleshooting why the previous owner of my ATC put in a hotwire switch. I think this video helps me understand a little more. I only tested my Stator from the leads and didn't open the case but I think I was only seeing a resistance of 1.8ish from the black wire and grounding to the engine. This video makes it less intimidating to crack open the case and inspect. Do you put in a new gasket when you put it back together again or use "hondabond" or some such gasket sealer??
Hey thanks for the compliments Because the pull chord attaches to that side of the motor and never really seals up, I actually drilled holes in the bottom of the pull chord to drain any water. These stators fail because water gets in and rotts the stator while sitting.
My trike was having bad spark. It would spark like once in awhile very inconsistent. I tested all other things in your video and they all seemed fine So I got new stator coils and I just wired in the one you did in the video I didn’t do the other one yet but I put it all together and now I have zero spark not even once in awhile anymore. Any ideas what could be wrong? And how to narrow it down?
@@jesushimself2583 well it has to be something you touched. Use your meter and check continuity on the stator plug wires to see if everything checks out like in the video
I could not get the handle bar kill switch to read anything on run, or off. I’m leaning towards this- can the switch be cleaned/fixed without replacing it?
When taking my ohm reading on the stator wire (red/black) it remains at 1, no change at all. Not sure how to proceed considering the bike will spark occasionally
@@blackmasta71 I’ve done more digging, popped flywheel off again and I’ve come to the conclusion that it has to be the spark coil, same issue you had. Thanks for the help
Thank you very much, well made video
Thank you. Perfect lesson

@@jesushimself2583 did you try a new coil before swapping the stator?
A coil can cause intermittent spark.
@@blackmasta71ya I have a big red 200 that has a good coil for sure and still nothing

Good vid. Thank you

Yes

Like I can’t get it to read at all, not even a bad coil reading
@@MrFireline55 if you cannot get it to read at all then then the coil is broken inside and you need a new one

hey jimi mine dosnt have the coil box do u have the code by changes?
No off hand. I would just search a Honda parts fiche in google.
Or just search a coil for your trike.
