    Leaving that space between the wall and the mat is a great tip that can only come from experience!

    using the mass storage for chest flies is genius! Ive been wanting a chest fly machine but didnt have space for one, definitely rigging up my storage rack for the next workout.

    You should get a leaf blower. I don’t even bother vacuuming because the blower does a much quicker and easier job getting all the dust and loose stuff out. Best thing is it’s really fast! Don’t need anything expensive, go Kobalt, Craftsmen or Ryobi. I already have Milwaukee tools so I went with that battery platform but it’s way overpriced for what it does in this specific application.

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very good tip. I did try that and it worked with getting a few bigger things out, but I ended up getting more dust-cover on the storage rack and the actual rack when I went crazy with that blower 🤣. So, I just vacuum once every 6-8 weeks.

    I did the same started buying used pre covid on Craigslist kept and sold what I needed. Then Covid hit and that's when I sold and upgraded to new stuff.

    • @redwhiteandblueblood
      @redwhiteandblueblood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice strategy, I only transitioned to training at home during covid, but once I started I knew I had to keep going
      Had to scrounge around for stuff from April-June last year, eventually had a dumbbell/bench/band set up for a few months, found a rack in October to train out of, but twas no good for squats as the hole spacings were terrible, so that was on my 2021 upgrade list
      I guess my original garage set up was similar to DIT, but not as good (his old squat rack looked pretty decent). Got a Body-Solid commercial cage now with westside hole spacings, night and day better to train out of and far more customisable

      @@r8der674 dunno where my original comment went, but nah bought this new, from Body-Solids Rugged line. Here in Australia people generally only put up those entry level 2x2 14 gauge steel racks on Gumtree (our Craigslist), so needed something way sturdier. For $850AU and free shipping, I can't complain, 2x3 11 gauge steel, nearly 80cm internal depth (a bit deeper than standard 30 inch racks), will buy the pulldown attachment for it next week hopefully, that's another $350 but free shipping too. Eventually once I get all the cable attachments I need, the dip attachment and some plate storage it'll still be well under 2k with no extra shipping costs, so pretty happy so far, just wish it had some extra J hook or safety options like straps (only have pin pipes, will buy spotter arms eventually for it though). But yeah, for example a fully decked out RML-390F with all the attachments would cost around $3000AUD before shipping, then there's the long wait periods waiting for Rogue Australia to restock and stuff as their racks don't last long once they go up for sale, so pretty happy with this alternative.
