      Only downside I can see is most homes don't have a plug on the sides and hidden wiring for the sensors/wall control. You'd need to run an extension cord and end result can look a bit messy

    • @nathanl5091
      @nathanl5091 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had one at my last house. Only downfall is if you live in a colder climate and have a wider door. It allows your door to contract toward the heat causing a gap in the center bertween the door and door seal. Those metal channels and hugr seals wont stop it from doing that either.

    I am glad you mentioned the garage door! I have had a jackshaft garage door opener since probably 2012, both in my old home, and my new home. They are the ideal item to open up the ceiling area of a garage if you want to use the space for anything other than storing a car. They are also a lot quieter than a regular garage door opener in my experience. In terms of lighting alone they are a must have.

    In addition to the jack shaft opener, invest in having the tracks repositioned to as close to the ceiling as possible. Because of the additional vertical distance, the total door length in the horizontal position when open is also reduced, so open or closed, you can do just about anything overhead.

    The hack you use flex tape for I've been doing this for years with gorilla tape. Holds up well. Also magbak cases for all my phones. Thin rugged case that's not to expensive with a magnet built into the case so you can't even tell its any different any other case. No random magnet sticking off the back of your phone pulling your pocket inside out every time you pull it out of your pocket. Highly recommend magbak cases. Been using them for years. And the magnet is extremely strong. Comes with thin low profile magnets you can stick on the dash of your car to mount into your car super easy

    Coop…. I love the hack you had in a previous video where you attached magnets to the quick release barbell collars. Such a great idea!
    One thing I do (that other people probably do too) is that I got from home depot a set of multi-colored electrical tape. With that, I label the holes on my Titan T3 power rack (which I really love), that i use the most. I also label the tape with a sharpie, BUT coordinating the color with a specific exercise, makes it easy to see and therefore so quick to change the safety catches to the proper height.

    For the preacher curl, if you have a normal flat bench like a standard Rogue utility one you can angle it so one side is hanging off the safety or a barbell. This allows you to get any angle of incline you want, you will only be able to do dumbbell preacher curl but its still good enough to spice things up if you have limited equipment.

    • @manpreetdhaliwal397
      @manpreetdhaliwal397 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@himankkr7060 I think he means to leave one bench foot on the ground and to hook the other foot behind a barbell or a spotter attachment on the rack that is high enough to cause the bench to safely lean backwards. So you don't have to buy an adjustable bench to do single arm dumbell preacher curls.

    The S-hook hack. Love it! You'd be amazed how many things are overpriced just because they're used for a specific hobby, but also exist for CHEAPER outside the hobby. Or even alternatives that do the same exact thing just as well or better, for a fraction of the price. Example: I paint miniatures for warhammer and dungeons and dragons. The special snippers we use to cut the miniatures off sprue sheets can be between $10 and $SIXTY! I go to Michaels hobby shop, find the same thing in jewelry making, for like $3.

      I know. These days we'd be canceled for tennis ball abuse.

    Would love to see hacks for:
    How to make your own wall mounted plate storage
    How to make your own knee extension machine or substitute
    How to use the leg rollers as a glute ham substitute
    How to make your own dip station

    This has been my favorite and, most useful video, for my garage gym so far.
    I can’t believe I never thought is these. Thank you!

    Dude, I’ve got a hi lift garage door motor too (side mounted). FYI for future upgrade you can do is have your track lifted to the ceiling. That’s what I did for me and now the garage rides within just a few inches or the ceiling. It will add a lot more clearance for you in the garage. Cheers!

    1. Eye bolts (1/2 or 5/8 inch diameter that can attach to rack for attaching storage or even a cable pulley with a caribner)
    2. Tow hooks attached to a rack are great for hanging chains or ropes. (3.99 at Harbor Freight)
