The Chargers had some pretty solid runningback drafts during the early 2000s:
2001 1st round: LaDainian Tomlinson (Hall of Famer, arguably best RB of last 25 years)
2004 5th round: Michael Turner (developed into best backup in NFL, and later the all-time leading rusher amongst 5th rounders)
2005 4th round: Darren Sproles (one of best gadget players in recent memory, arguably best 4th round RB ever)
To be fair, most of Sproles and Turner's production came after they left the Chargers. But I still thought it was interesting.

I just want to take a moment to shout out another UDFA RB that was really good despite his short career. Ryan Grant. Undrafted out of ND, he was initially signed by the Giants but then the Packers picked him up in 2007, he basically muscled his way to the starting job that year finishing just under 1k yards, and would get back to back 1.2k yard seasons before an injury would derail his career in 2010 onwards. He would attempt a comeback late in 2012 filling in for a bunch of injured Packer RB's vs the Titans in a legendary 55-7 blowout win.

A lot of teams were worried about his weight and injury issues therein. In the 80s or 90s, Henry would have been seen as a Mike Alstott, Moose Johnston or Craig Heyward. The goal line power back to pair with a speedy running back. Titans gave him a shot, and it paid off.

You were close on Terrell Davis. Stating that he was admitted to the Hall of Fame just because he helped the Broncos win two championships is understating his impact a little bit. TD became a Hall of Fame RB because he was the most dominant playoff RB in NFL history. His total playoff yards and playoff touchdowns are up there with other hall of fame RBs that played many more playoff games than TD did. And TD's average rushing yards and touchdowns per playoff game are records that may never be broken.

The best two I've seen were Chris Johnson and Adrian Peterson. Third would have to be Framk Gore, who deserves to bebon the HOF one day.

How can you forget Brian Mitchell for the 5th round? Dude is 2nd in all time yards behind rice. You added sproules for his returns.

And he whiffed on Herschel...also all purpose, but he got nearly 10K rushing alone. Even with a shortened career! And he had piles of receiving yards and TD, and plenty of returns.

Marshawn better make the HOF! His impact on winning and over 10k rushing yards alone while missing several years due to retirement should get him in.

Maybe it is just me being a Seahawks homer but this video made me think of Chris Carson as being one of the more successful 7th round RBs in recent memory. Had 2 1,000+ yard seasons and was on pace for a third before the injuries started to sunset his career. Give him 2 more healthy seasons and he'd have joined that limited list of 5k 7th rounders

Wow, no mention of Marshall Faulk? And you give credit to LT for being a massive influence on how RBs are used in the modern passing game instead?
No hate, just a big omission, especially given that caveat.

Yo I had no clue Priest Holmes was undrafted that's wild that guy was a monster what makes it even crazier is the fact that the Chiefs had him and a hungry Larry Johnson just sitting there 😁 good stuff KTO

Matt Forte from second roundshould be mentioned. 9796 rushing yards in 10 season including 4600 receiving yards. He would have been so good on a team that could build an offense. As a bears fan i miss watching a guy like forte.

Love your knowledge. Love your content. Top channel. Top quality.
That said, you NEED to go study O.J. Apparently you don't realize what he was. Me, I put him only behind JB.
But you made a serious error. HERSCHEL. You didn't even MENTION him. And despite his delay entering the NFL, he did Hall of Fame stats, and I would argue was the toughest runner to tackle of all time. What the ---- ??!!

      Just to be clear:
5th round. Interesting story there. Look it up.
8K rushing, only counting the NFL. 13K including passes. AND returned. These are HOF numbers.
61 rushing TDs. 21 passing. That's just shy of HOF numbers, again, even despite a shortened career.
