I completely get where your coming from when feeling like beginner level. And yes make the “bad art” just paint as much as you can and don’t be too hard on yourself. I recently realized I am looking for perfection and realism so much every time I paint and so that in turn makes me hate everything I create and I’m really hard on myself but when I just take a deep breath and take a break from my art then I come back to it and realize it’s actually good and it doesn’t have to be “perfect” or look super real or exactly like the reference photos. I’m making it a goal for 2025 to try not to recreate someone else’s art I want to creat my own art in my own style.
YES!!!!! omg ive had that realization so many times when i havent seen a painting i made in a long while. ill see it and be like i actually like this haha and can barely remember why i didnt like it! & oh my gosh my goal is so similar, i really want to paint my own reference photos i take from life. i have a giant folder of my own reference photos. & i really want to find my style too! we got this!!!! 😭💗
