Hello, when I started crocheting they didn’t have all those accessories. For scissors I went to the Dollar Tree in the crafting yarn. For stitch markers I use colored paper clips. Try Dollar Tree yarn and they have a clear plastic bag that’s perfect for when you’re carrying your supplies and they have a crochet. They yarn they carry is bye Premier. That’s the yarn you should learn to crochet called worsted weight. Good luck.

Not sure if this will help, but I know you can flatten granny squares by spraying water and blocking them. Maybe that will flatten your frog coaster? Seems too cute to not try to save :)

I lol'd at aerodynamic crochet hooks. I know you meant ergonomic but all I could think was, "Finally something that will help me crochet faster!" You should try to make a little beanie with that one skein of rainbow that you have. I find that small projects like that are really encouraging when you finish them, especially as a beginner, and I just know it would work up so cute!

Hey, for your turtle at the start, he’s super cute but for the defined shell section you might find that when you finish the last round of the shell you need to crochet into the front loops of the round only. Then on the first round of the belly colour you crochet into the back loops of the same round you crocheted the front loops only. It’s kind tricky to understand in text but crochetbygenna has a free turtle tutorial and she shows it in more depth. But loving all your projects, super cute!

But truly, I think your sewing of his fins turned out great! Working with acrylic yarn, you'll have to adjust a bit compared to working with plush blanket yarn, tension runs a bit different with the different yarns, you'll find a better tension the more you work with worsted weight acrylic. ☻ Your butterfly turned out beautifully! My daughter saw it over my shoulder and said it was so pretty, she wanted one! 🤭

To get yarn to lay flat, use looser tension! U can also block the piece (im pretty sure u can do that with acrylic) which is basically just wetting the piece. This will make it more durable

The only way to get better at sewing is to do it! Ive been crocheting for two years and when u said your sewing was bad and showed the camera, I paused the video and I had no idea what u r talking about. U r def overthinking it. The turtle looks great!

as someone who studies supply chain, manufacturing, the industry and all in between, and works as a machinist / process engineer (AND is A CROCHETER!!) , my advice is to try not to shop on temu, shop as local as you can, box stores and local shops will always have better quality and practices
