LOL as soon as you started explaining the "why" of the new yarn I couldn't stop laughing because you are now learning part two of any fiber passion. Yarn shopping is a hobby of it's own... I will never admit how much money I've spent on yarn. Some of them I bought just because they were beautiful and they're still waiting for the right project.
😂😭 it really is a second hobby!! i can’t admit how much time i spend browsing for yarn or watching yarn hauls or yarn organization videos 😂😂 omg why is it so addicting
Magic rings are definitely tough with the chenille yarn! I suggest doing the ch2 method or watching a video that talks about making magic rings with them!
Oh no! I hope you give thin yarn another try! I would suggest using a Clover Amour hook, it completely helped me in handling thin yarn because it has a deeper curve on the hook. I've been using it and I've been able to finish my projects way quicker and I don't have any more trouble using thin yarn! 😊
When I use fall apart yarn like Parfait Chunky or whatever, I do the Magic Ring with another yarn together. So Velvet or Chenille With Acrylic of same color just to get your Ring started and cinched tight, then I cut the Acrylic and continue with the unruly yarn, it’s a real game changer. Also I double strand my velvet so it’s thicker and works up quicker, hope that helps 😊
If you don't like the thin yarn, you can double strand the yarn so its thicker. it may be a bit harder to work with, but if thick yarn is what you are used to it might be easier. Also the plushies turn out sooo small with the thin yarn.
The yarn buying is a whole different hobby. There’s plenty of clearance sales happening right now too. I really just work for yarn. And maybe a few bills 😂
ty for the help!!! im sure this tip works perfectly fine but i have a crazy fear of lighters/fire 😭😭 i just can’t while making art haha would stress me out so bad! 😩 im normally so good at making the magic ring with like parfait chunky but some yarns are tricky and just fall apart so bad or don’t pull shut!! idk why lol im probs just too unskilled rn

AHHHH doubling up is so smart 😭 but yes i didn’t even know it was going to be so skinny, idk what to make with it now if not plushies haha
When winding the yarn into cakes hold the yarn for tension , makes much tighter cakes

Adding as I’m watching: Fold the label and pop into the middle of the cake. That way you know what it is if you want more of the same.
omg don’t tell me there are sales rn!! 😭😭😭😭 i don’t crochet fast enough for the yarn im buying 😂😭 lmao it REALLY is a separate hobby omg
that is SO smart omg i need to start saving my labels and doing that!
With magic circles with chunky yarn burn the ends, it won’t fall apart as much and you first round of stitches should very very loose
