Be my first time trying these instead of pyramids. Gonna put them to the test when the striped bass migrate in.
If you’re using monofilament, the general rule is to use a shock leader double the length of your rod and 10 ponds for every ounce of lead. For example, if you’re using 4 oz. of lead, you’ll need a 40 pound monofilament shock leader. You generally do not need a shock leader with braid. I hope this helps. Tight lines!
@Thats_That_Dude Yesterday braid 60 lb broke with 4oz sinker and hook. I see some guys using braid-swivel-mono leader. Or braid tied to mono leader 4-5 feet. Sputnik sinker is expensive do not want loose while casting

Do you recommend 3 or 4 oz for surf fishing ?
My favorite size is 4 oz. They are the perfect all-around weight for my area and will hold in most situations.
