Have the same tools but cant move anything ! Just meeting so much resistance that the tool is beginning
to get destroyed and the edges of the panel are being damaged .
Surely there must be another way into this area ? ** Right part 2 * ... I have now found the right way to do this ,
1 ) Remove the heater panel first but with a strong , slim flat screwdriver inserted into hole and then pulled
back while holding at both ends to keep level ( do not pry as this will damage trim )
    2) Do NOT use any tool to pry gear lever surround panel .... simply hold the top edge ( which has been
exposed by removing the heater panel ) and pull outwards . No need at all to pry panel off with a tool which damages
it and the surrounding area .
    * No disrespect to the maker of the vid BTW ... It was still very helpful in identifying the parts and how they interact .*

      Apologies for the delayed response....
Am glad you found a better way to remove the trim and air con unit, to be honest, this was my first attempt at changing the gaiter and I took my lead from other videos that had been posted. I did find some bits a bit difficult to remove with the tools I bought but didn't want to use a screwdriver for fear of damaging the trim.
Hope you managed to complete the job with relative ease and are happy with your end product...

Why didn't you unplug and remove the air conditioning panel? There is just one socket to unplug.

Many thanks for your feedback. As an absolute novice, I got my guidance from another TH-cam video, so having never seen the process you mentioned, I was unaware of any other way of doing this. If you could submit your own video showing this process, I imagine it would be of benefit to all, saving time and making the process so much easier.

Did mine today. Really helpful 👍 thanks. The only issue was getting the staples back in. Nightmare. Ended up widening staple holes with a very small phone screwdriver, small super glue to hold the material in place, pushing a large needle through the leather before replacing staples. Worked but pity the next person who tries it, if ever.

Apologies for the delay in responding, with regards to the staples, I ended up straightening them out, and reusing them. A bit of a tedious job, but it did the trick

@@Dava2412 Thanks Dave. Where did you get the new gear knob. I've searched everywhere and can't find a suitable one!

    • @Dava2412

@Andrew Fraser I think I got it from ebay but to be honest, it was rubbish, couldn't tighten it up enough to stop it from turning. I ended up pitting the original Honda knob back on as it wasn't really that bad....

@@Dava2412 Yes I've seen the same comments. Only slight problem with my original is that some of little buds at the bottom of the gear knob that click into the angled black plastic on the top of the gaiter have broken off. Bit of sticky tape will maybe do. Thanks again for the video!

Hey Dave, what is the name of the tool kit you purchased from eBay?.

Apologies for the delay in replying to your question, I hadn't seen and posts on my account....
I have tried to find the trim removal kit I bought on ebay but can't find it, however, the same, or very similar kit is on Amazon for £12.99 (Gadline 14 piece trim removal kit)
