I'll give that a try. I have caught a lot of channel cats on tilapia fillets. I keep an eye out for some in the clearance section in the meat department. I'll try your chicken mix sometime and see how it compares. 👍
Cool aid yes I did hear that 23kc tried that.. Jello is a perfect idea. Garlic powder fantastic with jello mix.. Shad.. Awesome.. Great catches. You rock dude ❤️.
Didn't do so well today, but I did catch a couple of medium size ones. That's better than getting skunked. The wind was horrible though. Made me work real hard. I'm retired, why did it have to do that to me? I don't wanna work hard anymore!😂
@@casualcarolinafishing5835 and you've earned the right not to have to work hard. Glad you didn't get skunked! Always a wonderful thing. Hopefully the winds will die down and you can fish under some rich blue sky 😊. Enjoy your week.

Hello my friend, thank you for this little tip here and great technique ! I hope you are doing well! Sending blessings to you for happiness, health and success!

ok for you to be able to catch big fish I should make this kind of recipe? wow ! i never thought of using chicken . thanks for this wonderful ideas my friend.
Chicken breast food! It’s a treat! Let’s see whether some channel cats want them. Olive oil, garlic powder-awesome. Fantastic! You caught giants with those chicken breast. They like the food. Fully watched!
Great share, Bill. I've learned a lot from you today. I've never experienced fishing in my entire life so I don't have any idea at all. I just hope one day I'd be able to hold a fishing rod :) oh well, I've seen 41 lbs - wow! So cool! Joined you preparing catfish bait till the end. Nice shirt! Love it! Thanks so much for sharing, friend♥
Thank you. I hope you get to go fishing some day. It's fun. Are you a Nightwish fan? I have their new CD, plus a t-shirt and hoodie coming Tuesday. It's been pre-ordered for months.
@@casualcarolinafishing5835 Hi, Bill. I wish for that, seeing myself catching fish. I'm so happy for you, you've got new stuff. I'm now their fan since I've watched your vids. They're cool!👍🎸 I'm a big fan of hard rock. I used to watch live concerts😍👍🎸.
Nice share. I should have watched this a long time ago. Now I know the answer to the question I've been wondering for a long time. How does he prepare his bait??? I'm surprised how big the cuts are. I wouldn't have thought that.👍🙏Big like--stay safe
Thank you. Since making this video, I've realized it's totally unnecessary to use such large pieces. Now days I'm cutting them into about silver dollar size and it's been working great. Those 38 and 66 pounders I caught Dec 3rd bit little silver dollar size pieces.
A lot of good information my friend thanks for sharing I may have to try it myself sometime This year big cat fish is on the list stay safe my friend 👍😷
I don't know why, but it does seem to work for me. Didn't work real good today unfortunately. Only got a couple of eater size. That's better than getting skunked though!
Some day I'll figure out where the gizzard shad like to hang out and that'll help me not have to spend the money on the chicken breast, but for now, yep, it's working for me.
It's been very productive for me too. This video's been getting a lot of attention since Deiter Melhorn started touting chicken as a viable catfish bait. It's funny, I've been using it for 3 years now and all the sudden it's a hot item.😂
Thanks for showing us your process. Love how you get into the mind of the beast and figure out what taste and flavor profiles they like most. I’m wondering about the cost to reward ratio...chicken is very expensive in Canada...not sure about in the Carolina’s. You sure did prove them wrong. Fish on brother, fish on!
It's not too bad here and you have to factor in time saved trying to catch fresh bait at the lake instead of fishing for your target species. I have to drive 2 hours each way up to Kerr Lake, so a little extra expense for the bait is worth the extra time I get to spend fishing for me.
Nice demo. I haven't noticed the chicken lose the color but I use it all pretty much in a couple days. I still haven't tried your recipe but hopefully soon. I wish we had blue cats to try this on. Use a bigger knife and you don't have to do so much cutting. 👍
Hello, how have you been? Great recipe. The reason why jello might be better than kool-aid is that gelatin is made from crushed/pulverized dried bones and skin. I am not sure if that is the reason but that is what was told to me. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
I hope you catch a bunch Ralph. I love seeing you catch them nice channel cats up there. We just don't seem to catch many real nice channel cats down here.
It sure does SK. I told BIG C what I added to my chicken and he tried it. Said he felt like he caught more fish when he tried it my way. Not sure if he is still using it now or not.
I am using way too small of bait for sure. Good information. I don't have any Blue cats but I think we have channel Catfish in our lake. Good info CCF. Fish on!
Thank you. I'd say the medium size pieces I cut at first would be best for channel cats unless you're getting your bait stolen a lot by the small ones. Then you can size down some if you want to stop feeding the bait robbers.
The jello sucks out the moisture from the chicken. It makes it stay on the hook better. I've actually caught my PB blue catfish on strawberry jello chicken 👌
@@casualcarolinafishing5835 I found out why in a Facebook group Adding gelatin to chicken for catfish bait and why it does work, Gelatin is a translucent, colorless, flavorless food ingredient, derived from collagen taken from animal body parts. It's not the cherry flavor or the red color or the fact it hold on the hook better... it's all about amino acids Amino acids present in gelatin are variable, due to varying sources and batches, but are approximately Glycine 21% Proline 12% Hydroxyproline 12% Glutamic acid 10% Alanine 9% Arginine 8% Aspartic acid 6%
That's awesome! Thank you for coming back and letting me know. I've been mixing my baits up a little bit lately. Sometimes white perch, sometimes shad. The last 2 trips the chicken outfished them both. They just seem to love it.
Thanks Hans. It's a little bit costly, but it works pretty good for me. Some day I'm going to figure out where to find gizzard shad in Kerr Lake and that'll help.
