@@PalmettoCats new to this style of fishing do you have any videos or suggestions on how to rig up something for bank fishing. For catfish I’m in Virginia.
I tried this experiment this year myself with Tropical punch, black cherry, strawberry, and lemon-lime powder Gatorade. We caught fish on all of them but the black cherry was the killer that day.My fishing buddy caught a 25 pound gar on the gatorade. And it worked very well in 3 separate lakes.Awesome video!!
Started watching the different catfish you tubers couple months ago and amazed that most never heard of using chicken. I was taught as a youngster to use chicken for catfish in the 70s
chicken is one of those baits that are hit or miss around my area. I had always heard of using chicken with WD40, but I know the WD40 was a myth. Now, I have friends that ALWAYS have chicken on the boat when they fish.
For the folks that are having trouble keeping the chicken breast on the hook when casting hard, try boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut up the same and marinated as you wish. Much tougher and stays on the hook well.
Have also used roe bags to contain chicken and/or livers, popping the hook all the way through one side, turning it, then burying in the roe-bag encased bait...
I had the pleasure of fishin with him he was a blast he definitely A vast source of information hes tearin them up at watts bar lake im down with back surgery so im at home watchin yall fish lol
I done very well at Chickamauga,Parksville, and Tellico doing the same experiment back in the summer. The Chick is full of nice channel cats.I hope your back is feeling better brother.
Hey man, great video! New fan here. I wanted to let you know about some success my friends and I have had all season with a modified version of this bait. Pork! We were using chicken and kool-aid, but since we did a lot of shore fishing and really whipped the bait out there we'd lose a lot of bait. We switched to pork instead (Bought whole cheap pork roasts and cut them up) and not only does it stay on our hook (even after catching fish), we feel like they bite just as much if not more! Pork is our magic bait! One last thing we did was switch to jello powder instead of kool-aid powder. the Jello coagulates a bit more and makes for a nice bait. Hope you try it out one day, cheers!
@@PalmettoCats I have caught blue catfish on raw shrimp that was not shelled. I wonder if raw shrimp ( shelled ) with the Kool Aid treatment would appeal to them. I am going to try it and see.
Yes, depending on your waters, it may even be unsafe for some to eat them. We have clean waters, thankfully, but if I kept everyone I caught I would have to buy a few more freezers. Haha
That was a sweet triple hook up brother...Ive used the Cherry but hadn't done others...Think I'll have to do a similar koolaid color challenge for my channel.. Tight Lines.... Stay HUMBLE, Stay HUNGRY, Stay FOCUSED..~Jarhead Catfishing
If the wife and I are just going out on the lake to hang out, I always put out a couple rods out with chicken marinated in garlic. We've never not caught fish on it, and you don't have the lingering smell of fish on your hands or in your beer cooler all day!!! Good video!! Tightlines!!!!
I use chicken all the time in any flavor that is red. If you mix some curing salt with it the chicken will toughen up. A few fresh shrimp put in a blender with a quarter cup of oil is a good sauce to let them soak in. Can also use sardines instead of the shrimp. Gives the chicken a very fishy smell. Its the only bait I use. Cheap and simple.
I believed that you would because my bestfriend and I always use chicken. We just hadn't used coolaid chicken before but I'm going to buy me some coolaid today for our next trip.
Great video! I been catchin them up on strawberry Jello chicken for years. It works great. I fish bushy park area and have caught some beasts on jello chicken. Even caught a few big redfish on it! In the fall 25-30’ with chicken rods and fresh cut mullet for the reds. Cooper is awesome river. 40lbs cats and 30 + inch reds same spot.
I use cherry Kool-Aid and jello mixed the jello just like on the box and cut the chicken in about 2 inch squares and put it in a bowl and let it set over night and you are ready to go
If you need a net man one of these days you let me know! We just fished down there this past weekend. Only live a couple hours away, and would love to hang out! Love these videos...
I started using jello on some old pork sausage left over from camping trip, it's as good as live or cut bait, but I still love throwing cast net, it's fishing,
Kevin, we use chicken when we have no sun fish or shad. We've managed to catch some respectable size blue cats on raw chicken breast when water temps are higher. This does not seem to work as well when the water temps go below 70F🌡I think it has something to do with the reduced scent being released in the colder water temps. As always, nice job. Keep up the good work and GROW THE SHOW!
You should Richard. It's really popular to drag backwards with pontoons. It takes a little more work, but if you have a couple of drift socks and/or a good trolling motor, it's a little easier to manage.
What, No strawberry? That's what I have used as a grocery store bait from time to time.... You know they like Strawberry better. Great job. Always enjoy the videos.
Very interesting video. Looks like chicken is going to take fish’s place for bait. At least for blues and channels. I wonder if the tartness of the koolaid makes a difference. Grape seems to be a little less tart than the others. Lemon was killing it. Great video.
Makes me just want to be there to help take those fish off the hooks!! I LOVE to fish and ive got some old chicken in my freezer gonna thaw it out and give this a try

David Ray that seems like a plausible Theory, This is the first time I’ve ever tried it. Thank you for your support
Might it be that because at lower temperatures cold-blooded critters metabolism slows way down, and larger bait would take too long to digest?
Could be
you can use all flavor of cool aid and jello it dont matter its just a little spice to the chicken the key is chicken catfish love chicken!!
