As a former owner of an early 50's Bassman, the sound of this pedal brings that same warmth and sparkle yet more controlled with slightly more compression & tightness. Amazing stuff guys!
Mine arrived today. Right off it sounds great. Can’t say that happens all that much when I grab a new pedal but so far so good. Both with single coils and Humbuckers.
Hey Woodhouse! Thanks so much for the feedback. We actually have this same style of demo for all of our pedals now. Check out our videos page...You see a video for our Jet Phaser, Foxy Tone Box, Centavo, & Warmdrive. Hope this helps! Thanks again for checking us out. th-cam.com/users/WarmAudioOfficialvideos
I just ordered one of these. I had an original Zendrive that i traded away 15 years ago (a transaction that i almost immediately regretted and have kicked myself repeatedly ever since and has gone down as the single worst trade i ever made). I tried several of Lovepedal's, but wasn't satisfied that any gave me what the original did. I love the Warmdrive. Admittedly it's been so long since i played the original that i don't know how closely it stacks up. It seems to have a little less gain, but while I'm playing the same Strat through it, it has different pickups in it so I don't know if it's the pedal or the pickups. One major difference this time around is that I'm using it more like an almost clean preamp more than an overdrive, and it seems to work better for that than i remember the original one doing. I keep the gain at 9 o'clock if i have the Voice anywhere beyond 9 o'clock .If i want a little more breakup i keep the gain where it is and turn up the voice. Once i find i have to turn the voice past noon, that's when i roll it back down and start to turn the gain up, then dial everything else accordingly.* It does pretty much the same thing as other Dumble style clean pedals will do, when they do it well. It's like suddenly running through a really good compression pedal with the compression set pretty low: it makes each string and note pop and sound clear and defined while adding gobs of clean sustain. The difference with the compressor however is that instead of reducing the dynamic response, it's actually much more dynamic than running into the clean amp all on its own. I'm hoping they did equally as well with the Centavo. I've tried over a dozen different Klones. In that time I've come to the belief that the difference between the "Good" and "meh" ones (I've yet to really try any that were "bad," for simplicity sake: bad is really just middling) often comes down to the gain control. Since it's actually "wet/dry" blend control as opposed to an actual "gain" knob, the type of pot that is used can have a huge impact on how usable the pedal ultimately will be. When it comes to how individual pedal's breakup, output and/or tonal qualities are concerned, there were few if any that were so bad that it made it so I wouldn't use the pedal, for the ones that I didn't end up keeping it was always the gain control that turned me off. Because it's blending between the clean preamp and the high gain preamp, how smoothly and evenly it handles this progression can be vary wildly between different models. When they're bad, they're noticeably bad. If the taper is off or it has hot spots itll jump from clean to drive really quickly at some point and can make the range in between unusable. It's THE sole reason that many people find that they sound best with the gain almost all the way down or all the way up. With a well matched gain pot (wet/dry) it'll be more useable at different settings. I think the best comparison to when it's bad is like the Master Volume on the older Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amps. The Master volume would go from off: to audible at "1" to "way too f'cking loud," with nothing in between. You had to either have an amp tech replace the pot (which i am and have done on these amps more times than i can count), or buy one of those preamp master volume controls you plug into the FX Loops. This is pretty much what happens with mediocre klones, except it's the gain that's jumping instead of volume. I'm really curious to see how this is works. *Regarding trying to figure out the "Tone" vs "Voice," controls on the Warmdrive, which is something I see discussed a lot online: it'll become surprisingly easy to dial in once you realize that they're both essentially controlling the same treble frequency bands. The difference is that "Tone" is affecting them post-gain, while the "Voice" is doing it pre-gain. If you have the gain turned low so that it's completely clean, they doing almost the same exact thing. Whether you have the "tone" at noon and "voice" all the way down, then switch them so the "voice"is up and "tone" is down, the pedal sounds the same. If you're running the gain up however, the Voice will add more clipping as you turn it up, while the Tone will just add treble. That's it, that's the whole difference. ** I personally find it to be a sin to use a Klon style pedal as a clean boost, though I'm clearly in the minority in this belief. If you want that, just buy a clean boost you like and match it with a decent buffer. I like using it with the gain up, placed BEFORE a compressor. Ill kick the compressor on if i want to add the klone's clipping to an amp or Overdrive without pushing either one, and keep the compressor off if i want it to add clipping and push either one as well. FYI: most OTA based compressors like Keeley, Dyna Comp, Ross, etc aren't well suited for this job, they just don't have enough headroom (unless you have one that can run on 18V like a lot of Ross clones can do). FET or Optical compressor work best, and out of those the FET is probably the most well suited since optical might not have enough limiting capacity, depending on how high you have the OD's volume set.
He mentions that the Treble control doesn't get too dark nor too bright and you can hear it when he sweeps the treble control. Is this typical of the actual Klon?
Got mine, sadly, i had bad luck. The pedal worked great for the first night. The next day, with the pedal on or off, I was getting a high pitch frequency noise coming from the amp. The pedal only sat in front of the amp over night. I swapped batteries, cables and amplifiers. It's definitely the pedal. I'm really disappointed that i got a dud.
Hey Daniel! Major apologies for the issue. Did you hit up our QA team? Your product is definitely still under warranty. Submit a request and we'll get your Centavo repaired or replaced ASAP. 👇 warmaudio.com/product-repairs/
I always wonder, when I see such videos: Where do ya guys plug in (amp e.g. & other devices) your guitar. I'm convinced there's no straight "guitar / Centavo / Amp" string...so tell us what type of amp & other devices you use here
Hey there! Check out the 1:15 mark. It gives the full rundown of guitar, guitar amp, & what mics/preamp are miking the amp. Hope this helps! 👇 th-cam.com/video/T_ItEUQ2P70/w-d-xo.html
I m soo tired about clones!…. Of the clon of the clon of the clon of the clon of the clon of the clon of te Klon Centaur.. . I bought mine in musicroyz in 1998 maybe?, brand new, and then and now I still prefer my MIJ Boss sd-1. Are you Clones too?. Regards
To my ears, it sounds like the authentic Klon on all these takes, except the hard clipping one. I think in the most extreme settings, there is a slight difference from the real thing, , but it could just be the demo.
Hehe he whooooo. Easy. Some of us guys that don't wanna pay $5k are STOKED. Can't say we are as stoked as a guy that has one for sell for $5k and the value went to 💩
A+ for production and videography work and demo overall but... The second last thing the world needs is another klon clone, the first thing being another tubescreamer. Do something new and original already. It's not like you can't or don't want to, all you need is a little bit of dare

Awesome Demo guys...... i went straight out today and bought one! This thing has so many sweet spots and character! Excellent pedal WA!!! Kudos!!!
Appreciate the support!
Great demo. Pedal sounds great. Always awesome stuff happening at the Hilson too.
I am seriously impressed. Smooth & Warm with a little bite. Like a good whiskey, makes me want more. 👍👍
My Dood makes the rock face after every note strummed, that’s a sign of a good pedal
What a great player to demo the pedal.
Got mine last week. Love it. Great Demo guys
Thanks, Jon! Enjoy the new gear. Hit us up if you have any questions.
WOW!!! Love the sound of it... You guys should make demos of all pedals, i really enjoyed this video. 💪✌ Thank you. 🎸

Just ordered one.
Dude, I need that cap! 🫎 moosehead!
Love the tones....
I just came here to see Brad 🥰
Great pedal
I have one in the mail waiting for me tomorrow. (Today is Christmas '23)
whoa......gotta have it!
Is this tonally equal to Wampler Tumnus? Wasn't my thing really but this sounds good with Bad Cat.
Love it
I wonder how the pedal will sound with humbuckers on.
check out the Andertons video comparing it to the Klon
Does this have the D9E, 1N34A, BAT41, or some other type of diodes?
It would be nice to see the Ceriatone Centura / Centavo comparison
I would like to know how the switch works. Does it make noise (pops) when activated or is it silent (boss, Ibanez style) thanks
Hey Alberto - There is a very mild "click" when you switch it up. No major pops or anything like that though. I hope this helps!
What does the switch do?
@@zippy61 - Hey!
The MOD switch on the rear engages an extended low-end response to the tone of the pedal.
The knobs are interactive?
That’s amazing.
He mentions that the Treble control doesn't get too dark nor too bright and you can hear it when he sweeps the treble control. Is this typical of the actual Klon?
Yeah I’m wondering this too. It doesn’t sound like the treble control does much. I definitely don’t want a dark overdrive.
Impressive.
Sounds pretty killer.

Surface mount?
All through hole components
I asked someone on TheGearPage who had one and they also stated it was through hole. Take that for what it is worth.
If youve never played through a high end Klone. Youre missing out big time.
Oh, for fuck's sake already! Make a replica of something that isn't flooding the market. Like a ribbon mic or something.
