I love that one of the biggest changes the HZD bowgun brought is a new meta for killing ourselves for fortify
I like putting on safi armour and blasting wyvernheart everywhere with HBG

This is really showing how rediciously hard this guy was when he was current content. Even with MR weapons and armor, he takes over 20 min to kill (keep in mind that he is a speedrunner) and still hits like a tempered monster.
I used to kill him in about 20~25min before iceborn, isnt that hard. But with a full squad, of course. Now it should take less them 10min with 4 people, without spd running.
Maybe the hp is the same on solo and with 4 players. That would explain
@@thelastword2305 not maybe. It is. Behemoth, leshen, kulve and safijiiva only have multiplayer difficult :p
I wish I knew that lol. Leashes made me so frustrated in my lack of skills that I left mhw for 8 months until Iceborne.
@@XenNoID i personally thougth that AT Nerg was more frustrating then Leshen and Extremoth combined. he is just a really inconsistent fight, if you are lucky, you kill him in a few minutes, if you are unlucky, you triple-cart right at the start. I'm not that much of a speedrunner, but one time, i had him limping (i was at 6 min ca., so a pretty good time) i flash him so he doesnt walk off to sleep, and he does not 2, not 3, not 4 but *5 backdive slams* in a row, i managed to eyeframe 3 of them, then i got truecomboed. Leshen and Extremoth are difficult in general, so i dont mind them that much
Lol even with MR weapons and armor he still takes over 20 minutes to kill
It's a bad matchup for CB. LS could kill AL in less than 20 minutes even before Iceborne.
@@NockLaumOK He was SAED spamming, he was losing DPS because AL is such a thin target.
I believe it's better to use Savage Axe against him.
He is multiplayer difficult. Should be around 5~7min with 4 people squad (coz no fortify for everyone)
Not easy for CB,and i finish in 14 min. with LS (i'm poor LS) lol
@@sheenpailovesu7841 that's a Safi fire element CB too, isn't it? I haven't gotten up to Safi yet so I'm not sure what kinds of weapon drops you can get. But savage axe seems more practical for elemental CBs or at least more practical for smaller targets like bird wyverns or leshen - haven't had the chance to tinker around with it myself
When the monsters of “other worlds” are one of the hardest to fight then the actual monsters of the game

11:35 is probably the most satisfying axe sweep I've ever seen. I really like the leshen, but people have mentioned the ancient one was just a terrible fight, which is a shame, because I was really looking forward to having some friends hunt it with me. That music is fantastic and I just wish the handler wasn't telling us stuff we already knew

It's really funny how much stronger the Monster Hunter Leshen is compared to the original. But hey, at least there's the explanation that the rich eco-system of the new world makes a forest spirit like the Leshen much more powerful.

Trying to get the MR Witcher silver sword, and in order to do that, I need to kill this thing. Problem is, this event is old, and I’ve been unable to find a server for it. Tried soloing it with my safi maxed out weapon and my rarity twelve armor, but I just kept timing out. I really want that SNS, but If I can’t do it, then I’ll just settle for the layered weapon.
Thanks to MR gear, I was able to do Extremoth, now I'm thinking about going back to knock this one out.

Why did you use latent power and not focus? I personally thought that focus is indispensable in all CB builds.
How do you interrupt the super at 2:40? I've tried to do that hit that only make some explosions, but if I had the full charge always comes the super hit with al phils

I just started using the charge blade and I wondering how your block at the right times so well
Takes practice and learning guard points lol
Learning the timing on monsters skills and just timing your guard points, but trust me once you got that you'll be in head over heals for cb, landing guard points is so satisfying
I managed to trigger guard points but never knew how to initiate the guard reactions. I'm hoping to try out elemental CBs more iceborne on PC since I never liked how the only usable CBs in base world were all just impact
@@an_ordinary_goose you guard point by shielding and then do the animation which you would do to switch to axe mode, idk if you play with a controller but for an xbox controller it's RT to block and then Y to go into axe mode, you got a pretty decent window for guard point but I'd recommend either training area with the lil timed explosive barrel to practice on or diablos since he's really easy to read and has some long animation build ups
@@adamoosthuizen5878 oh, I know how to guard point, but not how to follow up. I've seen people use element discharges after a guard point, but I think I've seen people use other actions, it's that they I don't know what to do

I was expecting that you would go for Savage Axe gameplay (edit: eh you did, btw how good is it against leshen?)
Savage Axe isn’t that good with elemental phials, though I imagine savage axe would be better against him if you were using impact

Now we just need a Master Rank version of him and farming him would have not be in vain! Honestly, now I want my revenge against Arch Tempered Nergi with my MR sets after seeing this >:D
He & the jagras was technically our first MR monster
The Jagras area is the sole reason why I never completed the crossover quest. Because Leshen always ends up there and all of the sudden becomes 3 times as strong as it just were and then the little Pukei arrives and gets eaten alive even with me shoving Life powders down it's throat which leads to me cancelling the quest because I really want that attack jewel and whenever I watch someone do that quest they somehow manage to skip that area and have the fight in area 1 instead which is much easier because it gives you a lot more space to avoid roots and birds etc...
I don't assume you can just dung pod him outta there?
It's RNG. He can move to either area. Some people get luckier than others.

It's a new mode in iceborne dlc. Savage axe mode where u charge ur axe instead shield or blade.

It's a dlc wep... Forgot the name but PS4 exclusive, the lbg has unique system in it.
Basically the wep has special ammo where you continuously hit monster with increased damage but also damaging the hunter, cmiiw.
Wow it still has that much health that mr gear still takes a while to kill it. Guess there goes my thoughts of tackling the heavy HR hitters now that I'm MR buff
That’s just cuz this monster is designed for multiplayer. Behemoth and Leshen will be the only monsters to give you trouble if you’re trying to solo because they’re both designed around having 4 people fight them at once

Pro Cow yeah Safi and Kulve are both multi scaled too but the way their fights work you can solo them after a couple hunts since each successive hunt on them gets easier till you complete a hunt
This monster teleports less in the witcher and on top of that moster hunter doesnt even give you dimeritium bombs to nulify his powers
The grapple only unlocks if you buy Iceborne?

Ancient Leshen is totally not an unreasonable and artifical challenge no. casual 40 minute solo hunts are Monster Hunters Prime.

I can only get the shield to glow but not the sword or the axe does anyone know how to do that? I play on x box
To charge sword press RT+B, hold Y then release with proper timing while you have a charged shield. To charge your axe go into SAED then hit LT to cancel out of it, you need phials to do it

There is one HR Event Quest and a Special Quest. You have to talk in Astera with some cats (blue !) and in the airship base with someone (blue !)

I have to admit that I didn't find it challenging and I just hitted him so much that my health regen could keep up with his damage, but he's bullshit.
