The song itself is public domain, but someone owns the distribution rights to the version they play on It's always sunny (Which I assume is the originals) It's like buying a book that is public domain. If someone makes a cover however, they don't owe anyone anything, BUT that someone can sell that cover of the song.
it's not public domain. It's royalty free - you still have to pay for a royalty free track, you just don't have to pay royalties to use it. Reddit can quickly answer this for you, as some ppl assume this is why the show was able to be produced. They merely paid the rights to use the track, it's pretty low.
That update was sad though. It was literally what 8+ years since that announcement. Enough time for Seth MacFarlane's star to rise greatly and then come crashing to the ground with a violent flaming explosion. I mean apparently as recently as 2011 (which I think was before the disastrous movies Ted 2 and a million ways to die in the west as well as the complete shitshow that was his Oscar hosting) back when fox said sure we just brought back family Guy here also have the Cleveland show for three seasons guaranteed. And the Orville aside he hasn't had one decent project or any significant project at Fox at all in the last nearly 10 years. I would be curious if anyone would even let him do this flinstone project at this point.
The best part of the comic: -why do you wear a tie? -I read in an article once that you should dress for the job you want, not the one you have. -how long have you used that tie? -15 years.

Both Genndy Tartakovsky (Powerpuff Girls, Samurai Jack, Flintstones: On the Rocks) and Maxwell Atoms (Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Chowder, Fish Hooks) worked for Hanna-Barbera, both went to CalArts, and both worked on Cow and Chicken together. Genndy was also the Supervising Producer on the pilot episode for The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
To be fair, it's nice for Seth to have enough self-awareness to realize his Flinstones reboot wasn't different enough from Family Guy. If it were any other creator, they'd be happy making a clone of their more successful cartoon.
You wouldn't expect Seth McFarlene to have restraint, but judging by what else is on TV, he might be one of the most restrained people in Hollywood. I guess the advantage of being popular is that you can tell the higher-ups that an idea is bad and they actually listen to you.

Yep
Fred's nose was never this big in the original show.
3:38 Like you said, people who worked on Dexter's Lab and the PowerPuff Girls worked on this. It shows.
8:25 Bruh they just put Chris-Chan in a cartoon
Thanks for posting this video! Apparently I saw the only TV showing of Simpsons on the Rocks when I was 9 and I've thought it was a fever dream for years. I was just old enough for it to make me super uncomfortable, but it was also a cartoon so I couldn't figure out why I wasn't enjoying it and slogged through the whole thing.
10:16 - "Liked it, but didn't love it."
Geez.. That's a picture of a man that's never loved anything...
Welp it seems pan pizza got panned by the system
5:29 Well I can imagine him acting that way after all he's done just to steal Fred's cereal. I mean, seriously, why can't he just buy it?!
the Flintstones also had a Busch Beer ad campaign where there were multiple commercials and when put together make up a non canon episode
The Flintstones On The Rock was pure genius! The style , the music, the voices were all incredible! I wish this was released. I only have a very small, low quality MP4 of it.
Well, as a hardcore the flintstones fan I loved the show when I was a kid and thinking they should make a “mature” theme series to bring back the nostalgia we grow up with. Bedrock must be finished soon so I can see that soon. I Yabba Dabba do wanna see that now.
I'm just happy to see it back up again. It's one of my favorite videos to check out every now and then.
George Lucas would be proud.
I didnt know TH-cam videos got free dlc
Thank you for the content papa
should have kept it an adult show, i imagine the creative humor they could have had with it if it was for adults.
I just realize something, if the Seth MacFarlane’s “The Flinstones” is on Fox then does that mean it’s owned by Disney? Does Disney own “The Flinstones?!” 😱😱😱😱
I think they inherited it
2:02 "Wilma Flintstone, A -natural- redhead?"
AAARRGGHH!!
1:12 - I believe these all came out/started in the mid-to-late 80s. Not the 90s
I was bingeing your videos and then saw this
That aqua team fox joke is actually pretty funny
Well, those are all equally powerful combatants, but A Pimp Named Slickback has Sweetest Taboo on his side, and I hear she is in rare form this time of year. I'm gonna have to give it to him.
Alright, Listen buddy: Seth MacFarlane knows what he's doing. Okay? Don't you dare judge him!
I'm betting that Flintstone cartoon made by Seth would've looked exactly like 8:46.
That one singular millisecond clip of All-Star is such a beautiful artistic choice.
