What do you think about the idea of a Nicktoons vs Shonen Jump fighting game by Arc System Works that had a story mode that had the Nicktoons being subtly influenced by an unknown force to murder many villains from Shonen Jump manga like Ren and Stimpy tearing apart the League of Villains, Rocko and his friends accidentally running over Madara, Spongebob and Patrick attacking an already drowning Frieza, etc. and it was revealed that Saddam Hussein from South Park was behind it all but he was censored so you could only guess he was Saddam by his voice and he was the final boss? How would you feel about a Diddy Kong Racing sequel that added characters from My Hero Academia, Little Witch Academia, Kirby, The Amazing World of Gumball, Persona 5,Family Guy, Sonic, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Digimon Tamers, The Simpsons, Invader Zim, Crash Bandicoot and RWBY with Haruko from FLCL, Hat Kid, Sam and Max, Popuko and Pipmi from Pop Team Epic, Jason and Eve from Blaster Master, Bomberman, Doom Slayer, Beavis and Butthead also being there? Kirby gets pushed as a second Protagonist to go along with Diddy Kong. Imagine racing against Akko with Izuku, shooting a missile at Gumball, Gumball, Izuku, and Akko smoking pot with their friends, throwing an oil slick at Ren, Ryuji using a bat to knock opponents sideways, Ann using her whip to whip a nearby rival, Yusuke asking Momo if she’d be painted nude, Fregley putting his foot in his mouth to distract the other drivers so they can crash, Futaba showing everyone rule 34, Makoto dodging bombs that Bomberman planted on the race track, etc. Long ago we lived in the crazy noisy bizarre Negaverse combined into one. In a strange way this has given me hope for the future. Especially the end quote. I have just recently have gotten the results of an ultrasound and they found something. I was feeling some doom and gloom but the end of the video has showed me there is hope. We survived Y2K, we survived the end of the Mayan calendar. So why shouldn't I be able to get through this!? Thanks for giving me hope for my future Pan! I'm going to live it right!
Agreed, the same kinds of gags and edits wouldn't really work as well if it were live action. Plus that era of sitcoms was dominated by the laugh track formula and KotH couldn't keep its pacing with those interruptions.
Y2k was a scam to sell software. My cousin bought Y2k software to protect his precious Gateway Computer. I was like, nah that's a bunch of BS cuz. My computer was fine.
try setting an iphone to 1970, it breaks the OS, it's the same principle. If a device wasn't prepared for Y2K the only way to not make it crash in this way would be to set the date earlier than the issue date. We're going to have the same issue in 2038 ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Year_2038_problem )

Why did we even believe in the Mayans calendar in the first place? Aren’t they same type of people who originally thought a bunch of pale Europeans were gods and we trusted there calendar as absolute?

Well, technically it didn't but technically it did. Some electronic vending machines and LED signs did go down, but that was about it. With all the well-deserved jokes it's easy to forget that it wasn't 100% unfounded paranoia, but everything important was either uneffected or fixed beforehand, because of course people would work to get around that oversight.
My favorite was the KotH one. Peggy lamenting at her opinions being null always makes me laugh, and I love Hank's whac-a-mole nightmare. Also, PLEASE review the PJs someday. That was one of my favorite cartoons of yesteryear. I love the camping episode.
The Diaboromon evolution line from Digimon Adventure: Our War Game are Y2K bugs. For anyone wondering, Digimon: Our War Game was butchered and Frankenstein'd with two other films into the English dubbed Digimon: the Movie. The name is also probably reference to the movie WarGames.
As someone who was born in the mid to late 90's. I never Y2K was a serious issue till I watch these episodes. Looking back I see it really wasn't something to panic about.
ah, the good old days of family guy, back when it was tolerable. or maybe i just liked it because i was a child, i don't know. haven't been watching pan for a while, and now that i've started watching again i'm beginning to remember why i like his content so much. keep it up pan, you magnificent pizza bastard
Its funny, having a very naive Mexican family, they didnt really hype it up or were scared. It was just another normal family reunion with tamales, kinda sad i wasnt part of the hyped
That reference Family Guy makes to Dallas made me laugh a little since I didn't get the reference. My mom, however, doubled over in laughter and later explained the reference.
I'm happy to see Pan mention more niche cartoons like Dilbert and the PJ's (and to a lesser extent King of the hill, which is only niche for his videos) now if only Pirates of Dark Water somehow had a Y2K episode, we could have finally got a dialogue going about that hidden gem of a show XD
While it's not Adult Swim, Comedy Central did air reruns of Dilbert, which is actually how I first discovered it. In fact, Comedy Central used to have their own Saturday morning cartoon lineup in the mid 2000's that consisted of reruns of Dilbert, Duckman, and The Critic.
@@unkown686 The Mayans didn't even belive in the 2012 end of the world The date wasn't even rigth And all it meant was that the Mayans died before making a new calandar
I too always wondered what King of the Hill wound be like in live action I get the sense that at it's worst: We'll get the live action Spongbob special (if anyone's seen that) It would be boring and uncanny and a little awkward with with how actually exaggerated and cartoony the characters compared to real life are, making you wish the show was animated. Things like joke delivery and character quirks would take a massive hit. And at it's best: We'll get My Name is Earl A nice level of exaggerated and yet not cartoony.
I remember the Simpsons and Family Guy episodes really scared me as a kid, I was 9 when the Y2K Panic happened and I had no reason to doubt my favorite cartoons even if both episodes were clearly non canon. It helped that my Uncle was a big computer and work at a local military base and reassured everyone in my family that everyone had pretty much fixed the bug by the time new years rolled around but I was still worried, but then everything was fine so whateves
Thanks for including Dilbert! I love that show! Everyone assumes "It looks boring", maybe the comic is... And maybe is not the kind of hour people look for nowadays. But the cartoon is freaking insane! There's a surprising amount of death and destruction. That dog's personality and character relation with Dilbert kinda reminds me of Rick from R&M. Anyway... It was an awful idea to put it in foxkids... It still looks like an old newspapers comic
The PJs!! i remember it but i never caught the intros so i had no idea what it was called. that's what i like about your channel; you're a few years older than me so you remember the shit i 1/2 remember from when i was 5
i remember hiding my game boy games in a backpack on new years eve because i thought it would protect them from some giant EMP that would engulf the planet and erase the saves.
2:58 Listen to this man. Having a ruptured hemorrhoid resulted in 5 of the worst days of my life. It's like living in those shitty anti smoking ads where the kid is being bullied by a cigarette, only it's their ass now and neither of them is happy about it.
This was a really interesting premise for a top whatever list! There were more episodes dealing with Y2K than I remembered, but I do remember a lot of people talking about it back then so I guess it's not that surprising. Good episode, dude! Also thanks for bringing some attention to the Dilbert cartoon! I'm not a huge fan or anything, just remember watching some of it when I was younger and always thought it was weird no one ever brings it up.
The family guy y2k episode was one of the first episodes I ever watched, and from my memory, it was always the one they chose to replay on tv more than the others. The same deal with the abortion episode, it was maybe like the second episode I saw. I only remember cause I was too young to be watching, and it was always late at night when I was meant to be asleep, with my tv volume turned to 1. The y2k episode always replayed in my head anytime anyone mentioned y2k, and it always gave me creepy post apocalyptic vibes.
Dude, a netflix special based around the Angry Beavers becoming self aware about their cancellation might be fantastic. Maybe the whole special is them trying to get their show back, idk but it's a concept that can work.
That Hank of the Hill episode. I just loved it so much back when i was younger. Hank beginning to panic because the propane shipment that Strickland was supposed to get can't be sent because of computer issues. Peggy trying to print everything she's saved on her Kaypro only to wake up the next morning to find that the printer failed overnight. Bobby panicking because he might run out of his favorite toilet paper. Dale having a fit because the gerbils he got made a mess in the basement, completely ruining his stockpiled food. There's so many great moments in that episode.

The line probably originally was "I used too much wine" and they were forced to change it to lime
"I can't tell which of the two are Stan or Kyle"
*TRIGGERED*
imm Yeah, because they’re based on Trey and Matt who also have similar characters.
South Park sucks...
I wonder if there are enough Mayan Calendar 2012 episodes to warrant a countdown.
Its funny, having a very naive Mexican family, they didnt really hype it up or were scared. It was just another normal family reunion with tamales, kinda sad i wasnt part of the hyped
Can't wait for the top 10 corona scare episodes
Right now the entertainment industry is stopped
I believe that will take a time
& The teen titans go one that will call you stupid (the viewer)
Most of the time bumpers in youtube videos piss me off but with rebel theyre so pleasant. Reminds me of my childhood
That reference Family Guy makes to Dallas made me laugh a little since I didn't get the reference.
My mom, however, doubled over in laughter and later explained the reference.
that one guy buying up toilet paper at 15:45
fuck that hits different
New Years Eve 1999 was also the day the SpongeBob SquarePants episode SB-129 aired.
I loved the pj as a kid
15:32 Now this become relevant
If you haven't watched King of the Hill, you are missing an absolute gem. The humor is clever and subtle, and the show has an overall cozy feel.
Y2K was the 2020 of the 2000s
While it's not Adult Swim, Comedy Central did air reruns of Dilbert, which is actually how I first discovered it. In fact, Comedy Central used to have their own Saturday morning cartoon lineup in the mid 2000's that consisted of reruns of Dilbert, Duckman, and The Critic.
Party like it's 1999..but like forever. Also the first chicken fight will always be the best
We ALL felt like clowns when we thought the world was gonna end in 2012.
And luckily for us 2012 is not the end of the world
Did ANYONE actually belived it?
My question was why did they believe that. They are aware the Mayans also believe the European were gods and we know what happen to them
@@unkown686 The Mayans didn't even belive in the 2012 end of the world
The date wasn't even rigth
And all it meant was that the Mayans died before making a new calandar
@@se.224 The Mayans didnt predict it tho, Pepole belived a Con-man
I too always wondered what King of the Hill wound be like in live action
I get the sense that at it's worst:
We'll get the live action Spongbob special (if anyone's seen that)
It would be boring and uncanny and a little awkward with with how actually exaggerated and cartoony the characters compared to real life are, making you wish the show was animated. Things like joke delivery and character quirks would take a massive hit.
And at it's best:
We'll get My Name is Earl
A nice level of exaggerated and yet not cartoony.
I remember the Simpsons and Family Guy episodes really scared me as a kid, I was 9 when the Y2K Panic happened and I had no reason to doubt my favorite cartoons even if both episodes were clearly non canon.
It helped that my Uncle was a big computer and work at a local military base and reassured everyone in my family that everyone had pretty much fixed the bug by the time new years rolled around but I was still worried, but then everything was fine so whateves
this channel makes me miss 2005-2010 era of tv so much every time i watch a video
Thank you
_Dilbert_ is a hilarious comic strip and was a hilarious cartoon.
Just a shame the Dilbert creator is, well.... Dilbert's creator.
@@coreylineberry8557 yup I have seen what he's up to...
I can't imagine a fate worse than being Dilbert's creator
King of the hill is my whole childhood and high school years. I’m honored to see it placed at #1 on this channel. It really deserves it.
That's the Year that Scatman died. Poor guy.
The level of quality each of your videos has is amazing, and every time I watch, I get a feeling of nostalgia that I can't describe.
I’m rewatching this video at the year 2020 and it’s new year eve. Hopefully 2021 is a better year or not
The PJs!! i remember it but i never caught the intros so i had no idea what it was called. that's what i like about your channel; you're a few years older than me so you remember the shit i 1/2 remember from when i was 5
The first episode of Family Guy that I watched was the Y2K episode and I had no idea what was going on.
Thank you for the memories.
And the olden cartoons you brought back, on screen.
Haven’t seen them, in a millennia.
I feel old now...Thank you.
Nice that you remember Eddie Murphy's old fox show The PJ's, that show deserves some more recognition.
i remember hiding my game boy games in a backpack on new years eve because i thought it would protect them from some giant EMP that would engulf the planet and erase the saves.
Dude I'm loving the new opening and the other bumpers. Great editing.
Before Pan pointed it out, i heard "before you EVEN torture me" so maybe that was it?
Dilbert is honestly a pretty underrated show. It had a lot of funny moments. I wish it got more recognition, or at least more reruns.

Listen to this man. Having a ruptured hemorrhoid resulted in 5 of the worst days of my life. It's like living in those shitty anti smoking ads where the kid is being bullied by a cigarette, only it's their ass now and neither of them is happy about it.
As a kid I thought Dilbert just animated Drew Carrey
This was a really interesting premise for a top whatever list! There were more episodes dealing with Y2K than I remembered, but I do remember a lot of people talking about it back then so I guess it's not that surprising. Good episode, dude! Also thanks for bringing some attention to the Dilbert cartoon! I'm not a huge fan or anything, just remember watching some of it when I was younger and always thought it was weird no one ever brings it up.
So many people in The Hillenium buying toilet paper. It's as if they were predicting the CoVID hysteria over the toilet paper.
I'd love to see that, amazing idea.
I never knew about the Dallas reference. Now that I think about it, they did the same thing in Who shot Mr. Burns part 2.
The Y2K episode of the PJ's was the first episode that came to mind when I read the title. Very happy that it was included in the list.
"I'm gonna die friendless and alone like Weird Al Yankovic"
HOW DARE
Thank you Pan for bringing Dilbert and The PJ’s to light. Dilbert is extremely underrated and needs more light shined on it
You should give the Dilbert cartoon a chance. The writing was surprisingly good
That ABC bumper got me. Haha so much good music and fun. Don’t forget about the end of the world.
2 weeks have passes since I wish I hadn’t heard about Pan’s hemorrhoid.
Wow I wasn't expecting to see the Pj's Project on this list props to you pan for knowing about that show.
2:58 listen to him guys. Eat fiber or anything with fiber, or else you’ll tear up your rectum from severe constipation
I think this episode was all in a dream because they seen dallas on CBS in 1980's
"Who never went through puberty?"
"Kids who didn't get vaccinated."
DAMN OKAY PAN
