  • Since Baldo The Guardian Owls first released on the Nintendo Switch back in 2021 it has had significant work and attention undertaken by the developers NAPS Team to bring us a much more improved experience now with everything they wanted to originally include. It suffered at release after it built up a massive expectation after being shown at an indie showcase, as it really wasn't quite ready and sadly featured many game breaking bugs. But this stunning title, inspire by The Legend of Zelda and Studio Ghibli deserves a second chance and we are happy to do just that with a play through of this fascinating title from the Italian developers. Look out for our part 3 if you enjoyed this.

Hello - I almost didn't publish this recording as there are many, frustrating moments when I got stuck, or couldn't get around something, or fell around 4 feet and instantly died, I eventually made some progress but I imagine it's going to be a tough watch in places! A lot of the frustrating things about the original launch which I thought has been updated are still here, but I struggled on. Good luck!

Thank you for publishing this video; I found it helpful. This game is beautiful but frustrating.

thanks Beth - there are so many amazing games to play at the moment, so when they are frustrating you probably should move onto something else. What are you playing at the moment?

I gotta say I think this game was overly ambitious. I understand the devs spent a long time developing it and then more time fixing it, but I'd have put this game down way before now. The art style is beautiful ,,, though sometimes it obscures the action! Well done for soldiering on!

Thanks Dex - you just don't want to give up on it as it is so beautiful and you know how much work must have gone into it and you want to always support indie developers and studios. But it has really tested me already a few times I have to say.

@@thenintendohub3873 You have a lot more patience than me!
I picked up a couple of bargains from the Nintendo store this last week. If you haven't already, you should check out: Cyber Protocol (action puzzler with a cyberpunk/vhs/pixel art aesthetic) and Pikuniku (platformer, simple art style and very amusing).
