- Since Baldo The Guardian Owls first released on the Nintendo Switch back in 2021 it has had significant work and attention undertaken by the developers NAPS Team to bring us a much more improved experience now with everything they wanted to originally include. It suffered at release after it built up a massive expectation after being shown at an indie showcase, as it really wasn't quite ready and sadly featured many game breaking bugs. But this stunning title, inspire by The Legend of Zelda and Studio Ghibli deserves a second chance and we are happy to do just that with a play through of this fascinating title from the Italian developers. You can tell a lot of love went into this game by looking at it. So glad to see the developers did not just abandon it and call it a day but went back and improved it and added more content. I usually wait for games to go on sale before I buy them especially when they are digital but seeing the work the developers put into this game, looks like I will pick this game up now. Thanks for the review.
Apologies to experienced players that at approx 31 mis in I couldn't get through the gate - although I discover how easy it is later!
I loved that game, I completed all the 4 adventures, yes it's not perfect but even as it is it's a huge great gem
thanks for sharing your comment! That must have taken you quite some time as its a big adventure isn't - how many hours would you say you invested in it? It is a very ambitious game and incredible when you think about the small development team. They must have invested so much love into this title. Very, very talented.
I love the graphic style of this game, but that bit where you try to approach the plant monster in the lake from the house, and it's not there, forcing you to backtrack, re-kill the tentacles and kill it from the side of the lake, seems like bad design.
Hey Dex! Great to hear from you and thank you as ever for dropping some words! Yes that bit was a little disappointing although I am the bigger man and can move on from that design error! You have to be a little forgiving with some ambitious indie titles and just say 'oh well' when you hit these little bumps in the road. I am enjoying it though and cant wait to record Part 2! What are you playing at the moment Dex?
@@thenintendohub3873 I did a little Googling, and the developers have done a lot of work since release. I may wait for a deep sale on this. I think I might nip back in on The Witcher 3 now it's been updated, and I can play my next-gen PC saves on Switch 👍
