I really wouldn’t have minded if it had inferior graphics or sound. Sigh.
The powerhouse of SRPG’s and RPG’s in general which is the Nintendo Switch. Bruh my backlog is years long.
Tactics ogre, triangle strategy (on hard mode) and into the breach are the cream of the crop here, if you only have time to play a few those would be my strongest recommendations.
100% agree, Into the Breach is such a good value and great game. I’ve sunk tons of hours into it and I always have fun going back to it.
Glad you mentioned Steamworld Heist. It's amazing. I so want a sequel with multi-player and level editor. Wargroove is amazing too. Hope we get Wargroove 2 for Switch.
I hope next Fire Emblem use the same system lik FE Engage. I'm so in love to this kind of system since played FE on Gamecube and GBA!
You missed a couple of my favorites. Langrisser 1+2, a great old genesis title remastered. Kaiju wars, brilliant tactical game with similar style to into the breach. And cant forget my boys at Koei with Nobunaga's ambition and Romance of the three kingdoms.
idk if you've played it or not, but u should definitely try Divinity: Original Sin 2
Loved Digimon Survive though it is definitely a VN 1st.

The number of SRPGs on this system makes it so difficult on my time and wallet. But it’s worth it. Both FE games are great, and I still need to pick up Triangle, Tactics Ogre, and now Into the Breach maybe
SteamWorld Heist is awesome! I was glad to see it on your list. I loved seeing Steam Powered Giraffe in the game.

Mario + Rabbids games are so fun.
I'm not always the biggest fan of strategy games but I love Triangle Strategy. The story choices are so dynamic & the way the characters personalities intertwine in it is impressive
Three house is my favorite srpg the best
So happy to see Disgaea get mentioned!! Disgaea 4 is absolutely my favorite of the franchise and definitely worth playing. Fire Emblem Three Houses is definitely my favorite strategy RPG overall. The story and combat are top tier. Engage is up there as well. Triangle Strategy has arguably one of the best stories.l so it’s up there for me too.

Into the Breach and Mario+Rabbids Sparks of Hope won best strategy game of the year in their respective years. Both are truly masterpieces.
Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope was amazing. It just took an hour or two to get going. But after that it is better than kingdom battle. Way more freedom.
PlayerEssence, speaking about Switch RPG games, have you heard anything about Genshin Impact? It was supposedly scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch sometime between July--September 2023 which we're nearing August now. As it stands right now, the only two games to complete my 24 Switch game Library are Hogwarts Legacy & Super Mario RPG remastered. But I'd really, REALLY want Genshin Impact also as it would be the perfect updated version from the Arc The Lad Collection I used to have for the PS2. That included Twilight of Spirits & End Of Darkness along with the boxed 3-part collection for PS1.
Disgaea 4 and 5 are fantastic.
But hands off Disgaea 6 on Switch!

I think in the opening months of TRIANGLE STRATEGY’s release you ranked it above 3 HOUSES. But now 3 HOUSES has pulled ahead? Can you talk about this process a bit? I find it fascinating.

Did you see his previous video with THE BEST RPG EVER in the title? Stopped playing ELDEN RING, compared it to MASS EFFECT? Or the one where he got to 100 hours of game time? He calls TRIANGLE STRATEGY THE BEST SRPG there.
I dont mind that he changed his opinion but I am curious as to how that happened. Thats all.

Well i like Digimon survive, and great that it is considred a great game. And also now it is 1 year old.
Leave it to me to talk about the omissions in this video haha:
- Makai Kingdom
- La Pucelle Tactics
- Langrisser I & II
- Mercenaries (there are so many games)
I can agree with la pucelle but the others I'm unfamiliar
FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake, King´s Bounty 2, Diofield Chronicle, the Banner Saga. There are loads of great strategy RPGs on Nintendo Switch.

I hated Fire emblem just because I hated the school/hub area that took up most of my time with the quests and trying to get charcters to like you and stuff....was so annoying to me
