  • Predator 212 Cylinder head comparison/Hemi vs Predator 212 vs GX 160
    Tested a Hemi predator 212 for top speed and zero to thirty times,and then swapped the head with a GX 160 head to see if the head swap would make any difference in performance. And then did the same with a non-Hemi head. Used a Coleman CC100x Predator swapped minibike for the test.
    All three heads had 22lb valve springs installed for the test.

    Going back and watching this again as I'm considering what I want for my next engine. It's comes down to the larger valves in the Hemi outperforming the other two heads with Higher compression ratios. But I can't help but think it's still going to be more cost effective to use a Lifan 200cc motorbike engine, and do a little more work on linkages and wiring, (especially as I have to order parts from the USA for the Stationary Clones & the shipping cost is more than the parts, and the exchange rate means I'll pay 4 times what people in the USA get to pay) The Lifan 200cc Motorbike engine is 16hp and $1055 with Carb, loom and exhaust/header, the cost of building an equivalent 212cc is well over $2K)

      @Black66  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, sounds like the Lifan is the way to go. And it is already together. No waisting time on a build.

      Thanks! I really like the GX160 head. I have them on a few engines. The extra compression seems to make them snappy.

      I love your comparisons I've tried the fcr carburetor on my 212 with ported head and Cam and compression and I've got the insane top end still fighting with the lien on top and rich on the bottom maybe you can show me how to do it if your friend to fcr carburetor I'm running a 39 but it doesn't seem to matter how big the carburetor is it takes it all on top end

    A lot of people balk on the Highsan engine the 195cc and swap the predator 212 engine. The main difference I think is the crank shaft output thickness. You have to get the adaptor with the CVT with the 196 engine. This video is very interesting showing the various specs and time trials. Fatbuddycat does the same thing. If you want more output just bore out the exhaust port and use a thicker head gasket.

    Would the tillotson 212 head be compatible with the non hemi 212 predator? And would there be a benefit to using the tillotson pushrods on the non hemi block? Thx

    • @Black66
      @Black66  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I did exactly that in this video. th-cam.com/video/wHIKyVU4oxw/w-d-xo.html I don't see much benefit unless they are Chrome moly pushrods.

    I bought a mini bike with a stock Honda gx200 on it that needs a new head, would I be better off getting a 18cc head kit or 14cc head kit for it? It’s a completely stock motor. Looking to just bolt it on and go and not do any extra custom work to it. Which would you recommend for the least amount of work or custom work? Thanks in advance!! Love the channel.
