I need some help please! I have same v22 mikuni but on the choke ON which is up that when engine stays on and when choke OFF down it dies 🤷♂️🤦 what am I doing wrong ? I try cleaning the jets and not clogged but does the same it will run but on choke ON and dies with choke OFF
If it only runs with the choke on, It means it's running to lean with the choke off. The first thing I always do is make sure there aren't any leaks. Make sure the carburetor is lined up properly with the intake manifold. You have to take the carb off and look down the manifold to see if it's in alignment where the two-bolt together. . These can be so far off that they leak between the manifold and the carb. If it's not leaking anywhere and it's clean it should be tunable. I would also throw in a bigger main jet than the one it came with if you haven't already. The 95 jet it came with is too small for a 212.
what about the pilot wanna see how it looks this one i and what about if the choke is on do i adjust it then because man i really wanna go for a cruize baaad
You shouldn't have to adjust it with the choke on. Everything has to be sealed up. Even the gasket on the slide where the cable goes in. Make sure she's getting fuel.🚀🚀
If the carb is leaking at the manifold were the carb and the intake bolt together or is dirty it won't be tunable. The only way to really check this is to take off the cab and intake and then look down the intake manifold to see if the carb and intake are lined up properly. If the carb is off to one side at all it can cause that O ring to leak between the carb and manifold. While I have it off, I pull the carb jets and clean them with carb spray. The I put everything back together making sure all gaskets are sealed. Intake gasket, bowl gasket. Then I start the tuning process over again.
So I put one of those on my axis m200, did everything right but now when I start it, it wants to take off on me. And when I give it throttle it shuts off I’m struck
So my carb is bogging everything’s good on it I seen a video of the float value being lined up with the carburetor is that tru is says it’s stops bogging when it’s lined up evenly

I've never had one of these carbs before. I've always bought the stock appearing bored out ruixxing carbs but now I am getting ready to make the switch and was thinking of getting a 28mm Flat Slide Carb for my modified 224 Mini Bike because everything I've read about these carbs everyone is saying the Flat Slides perform better but they can be a pain to tune compared to the round slides. So my questions are do you have a video out on how to tune the Flat Slides or are they tuned the same way as the round slides just more finicky? Are the flat slides really that difficult to get running right? Remember it'll be my first attempt at a slide carb so........?

I followed this video on tuning for my carb and it got me a little better. Found out it was running lean. Took out the stock jet and installed a 110jet and not I can not get it to idle off choke at all… I’m at a loss
Watch the follow-up video to this video. This could be the problem. th-cam.com/video/b5bY-1gIWWk/w-d-xo.html
Had a question I installed a moly i carb tuna fine but when I give it full throttle it cuts off and I have to let off a bit and it feels fine any help thanks
Hey I hope you see this but when you took out the jet from the carb, what did you unscrew it out off, I need to buy that piece because the jet that is in it is really tight in there and is stripped
It is the emulsion tube but you can buy the entire repair kit on Amazon for a round $14 www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWK91YRR/?ref_=cm_wl_huc_item
@@Black66Hey so I got it figured out and really do appreciate the fact you responded but at 4300ft elevation I am running a 120 jet and it dies off choke, I suppose it is the pilot jet but as you are the expert i’d like your input.

@@Black66 thanks man
I lost my clip @ 7:25. will that affect it at all?
Ya, you need it. The clip holds the needle down.
If I changed main jet to a 115 should I also change the pilot jet? I'm new to mini bikes
It depends on elevation, engine mods etc. . I get away with just a main jet all the time with these carbs. I would try the main first .
@@Black66 thanks I appreciate it
Bro I have the same carb is this all I have to change is the main jet I have a stage 2 tilly I was told to change the main 125 and 12.5 polite did you leave your polite jet the same
Also thank you for all the hard work and feedbacks bro
Thanks! Yes, I live up at a higher elevation so I get away with a small pilot on a lot of these carbs. At least on the mild engines.
Thanks for the video. This helps tremendously.
I have 3 of these carbs and I swear only 1 of them has this little white plastic washer on the needle. How important is it to have that washer?
Not that imortant.
my bike started up fine just bogged when i would pull throttle i messed with the air fuel lines and idle screw and now it won’t start i check the jets and pilot everything is clean it is getting gas to the carb any ideas?
my 224 w/Mikuni doesnt like the 120 jets and larger...bogs down in top half of throttle and spark plug is black. Runs ok with the 100 jet but getting hesitation on first throttle. Will adjust the needle s you mention here
Could you help me with this problem.. My engine won't go off choke when I near off choke with the lever on the carburetor the engine stalls? Have any suggestions?
If its runs lean with laggy throttle response couldnt you technically keep adjust airfuel screw if not how come?

Hey thanks brotha. Will definitely need this soon.
So when I give my back gas it dies, does that mean main jet needs to be bigger or smaller. Or neither
Im not understanding that gas line on the bottom, everytime i try to start my minibike, a whole bunch of gas comes pouring out of there
Try to tighten the screw on the bottom of your bowl probably too loose
U also don’t have to have gas line on there
Thank you!! Helped my lean issue
i got the vm22 but i think im gonna break the motor in with the stock carb just rejet it ? i ripped the foam airfilter on the kit im pissed lol and mine wasnt red it was black man that bike pulls like a lil pitbull
