For most people 90% of their charging is done at home over night or at work. Leave in the morning with a full 80% DAILY charge. No need to charge more unless you are taking a road trip. Charging on a level 2 home charger is best for the battery. Keeping the battery between 20 - 80% is also best. Fast charging is great for road trips but the speed adds heat to the battery which is not as good for the battery long term. Occasionally fast charging is OK for trips but most charging should be at home or work on level 1 or level 2 chargers. Never charge to 100% and let the battery sit at that level for hours or days. That is not good for the battery life. That is why the Tesla slide level indicator says DAILY ( 50 -60- 70 - 80) and TRIP (90 - 100) for setting charge levels.

I never see a stupid system in the world like in Ireland. You need to have special card to charge your car in a fast public charger. In any other country you can use a debit or credit card, very comfortable for any user…

Don't set the charge level to 100% unless you are on a road trip and leaving in a few minutes after charging.
I’m coming over from England on holiday. Can I charge my car as I won’t have a ESB card?
You may get by with EasyGo instead but ESB charge points are very common so I recommend their card or app.

Can I charge my kona on ccs charger on the road or any fast charger.
You won't be able to use Tesla superchargers, but you can use fast chargers by ESB and Ionity and any other public fast charge points.
