Had a feeling Brendan would mention the fact there was a creepypasta wiki related entry on Crybaby Lane.
Horror for kids is actually a huge untapped market. Kids like being scared and spooky shit. But there’s very little aimed towards them that’s actually good.
For sure! There's a reason that Five nights at Freddy's, Poppy's Playtime, and, fucking Garten of BanBan are absurdly huge with the kids now.
The children yearn for terror. I think some more genuinely good entries into the genre would be good, because I hate how cynical and low quality a lot of that stuff is
@@nolankanski9116 imagine telling this to like a really conservative overly sensitive parent without context
"The children yearn for terror."
@@Xenomorthian I don't know if it's just the areas I've been in, but conservatives I've known have always loved scaring the frick out of kids.
One dude told a kid to get in the bucket of his tractor to carry him. Then went right over to the lake and almost dropped the kid in. Kid was terrified and never trusted the tractor again.
@@aliceiscalling I think I misused conservative but that's not surprising remember the pst raccoon story
Yeah I think it’s a type of parent more than political affiliations, but the moderates seem to my experience to be more towards that type of stance.
But it’s very good to not protect children from scary things. instead exposing them to fearful and some hard to deal with things for their development.
Ultimately shielding them completely from that type of thing harms more than helps.
For a while I thought that whenever they said "Undertaker" they meant the wrestler, not the job.
They did, eventually.
@@theoneandonlymichaelmccormick I figured that out, eventually
@@lilshit4470 Hell yeah.
With one of them it's a coin flip where even context will fail you
"Crybaby Lane" is such a perfect name for some children's horror movie lost to time. Ripe for creepypasta. Make up whatever fucked up stuff you want the movie to have been about.
Y’know at this point I think y’all need to just do an episode on Small Soldiers, just to get it all out, lol.
If I could make it scarier by making any change so that it would get banned, I'd make it so that the possessed people start growing the evil conjoined twin on them instead of just having glowing goosebumps dogs eyes.
Also fuck yeah Brendan, I also love the Earthmover episode of BB.
That's honestly a really good one!
That would be pretty sick, even though the make-up budget would probably have been pretty high.
With that said, if we take the parasitic twin growth idea, and meld it with the worms, perhaps the Goosebumps eyes are only Stage 1 of the Worm God's infection. Stage 2 would be them getting more wormy, perhaps with the worms wriggling underneath the skin. THEN you jump to Stage 3 as the twin starts growing on their backs, as they hunch over and become "chwals" for the nascent Worm God to act through. You'd only see one chwal in the film, with the good guys mostly contending with erratic Stage 2s, but there would be implications of an unseen Stage 4, that would spell doom for the land if allowed to progress that far, since that would be the evil twin returning to the world with the strength of everyone who got wormed.
Granted, I reckon that Mandy would say "isn't this basically the Hive from Destiny?", but honestly I was partly cribbing from System Shock 2, but also from Fear & Hunger since the God of the Depths has influence over bugs. That said, it is also a cancer metaphor, since it's adapted from an idea I have for my own writing project, in which Yaldabaoth, the Vermillion King (Crimson and Scarlet were taken), is unable to physically enter the world, and thus is forced to cast a faint flesh-changing light across the face of Nibelgarden, triggering eldritch mutations in those who are particularly vulnerable to His touch.
Voldemort type possession
@@GmodPlusWoWForget crybaby lane, I wanna hear more about your writing project and the Vermillion King
@@falconstudios146 I'll admit, I haven't fleshed it out as much as I'd like. Though I was also thinking about adding a Greek myth angle to it, where the Vermillion King was torn asunder by Cykranosh, one of his seven children, echoing both the succession myth and the Titanomachy.
The fragments of Yaldabaoth, the titular Vermillion King, both virile and viral in nature, would sail throughout countless voids for aeons to come, which is why Cykranosh's siblings imprisoned him like they'd planned to imprison their father, for they knew how hideous their father could be when he was angry. They were also incensed because they would have to deal with locating these fragments for all eternity, to ensure that the multiverse doesn't get transformed into a pulsating mass of eternal horror.
What's worse is that Nibelgarden got lucky, since a fragment of Yaldabaoth impacted the moon of Nibelgarden, forcing the fragment to exert its influence through sorcerous means, rather than physically infecting lifeforms on the planet below. Most worlds "graced" by Yaldabaoth wouldn't have been so lucky, though some were fortunate enough for celestial powers to redirect the fragments' trajectory into their worlds' sun, since not even Yaldabaoth was strong enough to withstand the ferocity of a rough solar mass's worth of hot fuckin' plasma.
The scariest thing they could do to get the movie banned is replace the bull with Dan Schneider
This episode was such a nostalgia hole. I've never even watched Cry Baby Lane, but the vibe alone just oozes nostalgia.
Also, "let's peg this puppy" is so fucking cursed. Good job, Brendan.
...30:37, Billy did you slip a D.Va Fart in there? I swear to god, I hope I'm not going rampant.
Just wait until Billy finds out about earring magic ken
Brendaniel pulling 90s slime facts out of his ass like fucking Rainman is the funniest shit to me
I am now looking forward to them eventually covering disney's only horror/slasher movie with Frankie Muniz.
Whenever they started talking about how cookie dough killed the baby, all my brain could think of was
"Cookie dough killed the radio star."
Cookie dough killed _everyone._
"Lets peg this puppy's hobbit hole" is the takeaway of this episode
The Batman Animated Series episode that displays, in absolutely horrific detail for a cartoon, the creation of Clayface as a villain was super super scary for a kid's show. They pour a bucket of chemicals over the dude's then-human face to try to kill him. Let me repeat that, they pour acid over a guy's head to try to melt it off his body. In a cartoon, for kids/teens.
8 year old me was NOT ready for that at 11PM on a school night lmao
It’s not acid, it’s face cream. They say, “you want this stuff? Why not have all of it?”. It’s specifically the face cream that he runs out of after the beginning of the episode, after he robs Lucius as Bruce Wayne.
The show had adult themes to be sure, but nothing as graphic as you’re describing. Don’t let your childhood memory cover something good in more laurels than it needs. That episode won an Emmy. Also you can see the quality of animation drop immediately after those two episodes because they secured their win then went back to just making regular quality episodes.
@@Tencelas I think he got confused with the Two-Face episode where Harvey got hit with acid.
You should let Brendan do podcast within a podcast one of his best d&d episodes was the restaurant episode.
Wait Brandon has a dnd podcast? Where the heck can we watch that?
@@TheSkeletonVAsame channel, they called it perilous story telling
@@TheSkeletonVAit's unfortunately unfinished because it came from the old era, but there is a reboot in the works that takes place in space although it probably won't come out for quite a while as it's a big project and Billy is dealing with a lot as of late. Despite it's unfinished state I would still EXTREMELY HEAVILY recommend listening to the og, folk and dagger, it's probably the funniest dnd podcast I've ever listened too
Brick Hause (House?) still has some of the best lines in DnD history.
@@tentativegazer unfinished because it came from the PC-98 / Rogue Trader era
I swear, whenever i hear that intro for these particular podcasts, i adore how closely Brendaniel sounds like Zorak. Keeping the memory alive.
"he is basically undead caillou, i wouldnt cry if he got sucked in to hell"
love the way mandys brain works
Omg powdered toast man's powers were fart/sharting cinnamon sugar on toast....
...no fart jokes in ren and stimpy... Smh
yippee i literally just finished listening to the uninvited episode again
Legends of the hidden temple was an unintentional horrifying show. Those goddamn temple guards…
Surprised Mandy never brought up the system shock 2 worm gun
"It even fires worms."
I though all in rural areas sought to prove themselves by racing the train.
Whether by bike, car or if ballsy enough (or on enough stimulants) on foot one must always race the train.
It’s like running in the mist of the Deet trucks for us Floridians. It’s an irresistible instinct unfortunately 😅
I remember there was a whole exhibit on the animation of monster house in the museum of modern technology or whatever it’s called in San Francisco. I saw it as a kid and I had no idea what movie it was talking about, but the way textures are flat planes kinda morphed around 3d objects was really memorable to me.
“Squid like nose”
Y'all need to watch Thirteen ghosts for this show
It’s like Jinxed or Nicky Duce, Nickelodeon makes these hour long movies that air once and then never again.
I feel I have to mention the TV show Jeopardy on ABC3 for kids horror. Genuinely nuts
Crybaby Lane should of been like the interloper Arg.
"Teen Titans Go is super popular"
I mean, yeah at one point when it was literally the only thing to watch on CN save for 2 hours, it'd do gangbusters for viewer numbers.
god that was annoying
Listening to this again just makes me want them to make an episode on Cube
Wait I thought Chip Hazard was voiced by Tommy Lee Jones? Also not sure if you remember that they had made a Mummy cartoon based on the Brendan Fraiser The Mummy and I do remember it being fine. But it was more based on the sequel cause it had the kid with the Scorpion bracelet.
They said Archer of the Gorgonites, I believe.
Hell yeah, I remember The Mummy TV show. It only ran for two seasons, but it was a BANGER from what I remember.
I haven't heard of this stuff before, but 8m glad to hear that even the slime company had some kind of terror on it... welll kinda
Let's go, happy Friday PST folks
Brendan making a Xavier Renegade Angel reference made me jump to attention
I have the same type of dragon knight chestplate that Lightsaber kid had!
He said time twice
We're gettin spoiled with all this PST content.
Only _you_ guys would mention a creepypasta for a _totally_ lost horror movie
we gotta get a small soldiers episode
The fact they bring up the skipidi toilet makes me happy brain
Yeah, It was basically equivalent to goosebumps or are you scared of the dark
yooo!! holywood squares!! no more kings reference!! circle gets a square!! yoo
Do y'all think you'll ever do the Scary godmother movies from cartoon network?
Good episode
I feel like its important to note that the 6teen zombie episode wasnt a special, it was *the fucking premiere of the series.*
Literally the first fucking episode they aired was the one where everyone died horrible painful deaths.
Also, sidenote on Teen Titans Go, it has this weird, genuine obsession with simultaneously trying to piss off anyone who liked the original show *while also* trying to draw them in to watch them after literally directly insulting them. And then the next time they insult the OG audience they get even nastier, kinda as-if they're mad the OG fans arn't watching?
And, like... This isnt a one-off thing, its such a major reccuring theme that it was a major part of the movie's plot from what I know.
As a show, i *want* to say people are too mean on TTG, but then the show makes meaner jabs on those original fans, and then acts salty about it. Its... Its an enigma to be honest.
Is it like same episode they insult and try to draw them in or is it like different episodes different approaches because that could just be rationalized as just different writers with different opinions on the original fanbase working on each episode
cause if its the former then like man that is strange, maybe they're artificially trying to generate 'outrage' cause yknow 'all publicity is good publicity'
Like i'm really lost as to what it could be
Malissa Jone Heart and Nick Canon really did become weird god freaks.
Think there was something in the slime when they were working there?
Has anybody heard about Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids?
That show was fucked up, a lot of cannibalism.
this is bound to be shit hot
Neat
*starts farting*
Dear Lord... I 'memba the crybaby lane creepypasta... Anyone gotta bat? I need to forget again.
Why are they calling him Billy?
he changed it cause personal family problems and he wanted to move away from it
Kenneth was the only good thing about this movie.
Comment tribute
oh damn, I'm early
Early, let’s go
This episode is slop
you say movie then we get an audio book , anyway the real joke here is that you have merch
