We shouldn't underestimate Nickelodeon when it comes to scaring the jeepers out of their audience. Nickelodeon back in the 90's and 2000's had some rather down right horrific content on their channel at the time. Invader Zim and Old Spongebob could attest to that.
I remember watching a Hey Arnold episode in which Curly is implied to have been disturbed or possibly killed at the end of the episode. That episode was "Ghost Bride" and it probably had to be one of the darkest episodes of that show because the story centered around a murder committed by a scorned bride against her unfaithful lover. The show did not hold back on its subtext, it's outright confirmed that the bride killed her ex-lover and his mistress ( who was Bride's own sister no less). Not to mention that suicide also plays on role in the story, too.
There's also the ghost tenant episode and haunted train one, too. And I think it was either Rocko's Modern Life or CatDog that had an episode that centered around the main protagonist having scary visions and nightmares about a monster from a horror movie they had just watched ( and no it's not Krab Bot, even if the plot have similarities to the Spongebob episode). I remember the ending well, as the ending ended with confirming the monster's existence. The episode ended with either a three or a question dripping with blood. That creeped the shit out of me as a kid!
Are You Afraid Of The Dark? was a thing, too. Some of those episodes even horrify me as an adult.

+Krystal Ortiz, the last one you're thinking about was definitely CatDog, and the episode was called "Nightmare", and the monster was made of sandwich and called "Toothpick-Head."
There were a lot of episodes of Nick shows that gave me chills. One was the early Wild Thornberries episode were Eliza and Darwin get lost in the woods in Africa looking for another lost girl, and the episode of Rugrats where Suzie's older sister babysits.

Are you Afraid of the dark had some pretty corny episodes. But the best ones were downright scary, I’m sure the writers could have made more but it’s a kids network after all

My uncle worked at nickelodeon since 1998 and basically worked three jobs, quality control (watching shows to make sure they don't have problems) archives which just basically meant he took VHS (yes VHS tapes in 98' to 2013) and rather destroyed them or copied them to DVD (nickelodeon apparently hates storing things digitally) and the job he works now is basically destroying or saving storyboards.

I remember watching this on TV at the time. It scared me so much that I actually remember a lot of the plot points of the movie and scary imagery. I remember it was about a kid who uprooted a root on a grave of an evil person. That let the spirit loose and it possessed everyone in town and made everyone want to kill the boy. Turned out the evil person was a siamese twin and his brother was the good one. The evil one was supposed to be buried in a ditch off the road, but they got them confused because they looked identical, so the kid needed to find the unmarked grave and release the good spirit to cancel it out. There was a lot of creepy shit. I remember a chase through a corn field and people trying to run them over in trucks/tractors. That scared the shit out of me cause I lived by some corn fields. I always liked it though, I had no idea this was lost media. I haven't even actually watched this video yet, hold on.
Ohio has a bunch of urban legends about orphans tragically dying in fires. The one I heard of growing up was about "Gore Orphanage". There are many different versions of the legend ranging from the owner setting the orphanage in fire, to it being a tragic accident. The one I personally grew up with was that the owner "Old Man Gore" simply hated all the children and wanted them dead. One night he knocked over a lantern in the Orphange. The man managed to escape but the children did not. Rumor has it that if you drive on the road where the Orphange used to be, you can hear the screams of the children and you can smell their burning flesh. I both hated and loved driving through there on the motorcycle when I was younger.

Sounds decent enough but you to drag candy into their buckets. There are normal orange candies and Black licorice. You are supposed to place the orange candies within the basket. If you place Black licorice in their tho. They will complain about you putting black licorice in there while their face straight up becomes a demon, and they gain a demonic voice saying "I DONT LIKE BLACK LICORICE" as it zooms up on the horrifying face of nightmares.

Dude thats nothing in 1998 i clearly remember whatching the Justice League episode Legends with my dad we both recall this Clearly because it was presented as a one hour long movie and he made a comment about a movie having a opening like a tvshow as being weird, my unkle was there and he had a heart attack that night. I vaguely remember these two TV movies that would air on Disney or something over 10 years ago and I really want to know if anyone else knows this. The first movie was about a mummy coming back to life. The only scene I specifically remember was the mummy walking through a drive thru. The second movie was about an evil poodle that a kid had to babysit. All I remember was the poodle attacking him and then he ran and hid in the bathroom.

I remember watching this! The most main part I remember was when he pulled the root from the "Bad" kids grave-stone to cover his walkman, and he learned the root went to his heart.
The fact that Nickelodeon put this out is not surprising. They had a ton of slightly scary stuff when I was growing up. I loved it all. Like, "Are You Afraid Of The Dark", on: "Snick". They had cartoons like, "Rock's Modern Life" and even, "Rugrats", had it's pretty creepy moments in the beginning. This movie has, "Classic Nickelodeon", written all over it. People just tend to forget what children's programming was like several years back and before that it was even creepier. But hey, I loved all that stuff as a child and I still love it now. I would not have a problem with my future kids watching stuff like this if the end up being anything like me and can actually handle it.

Honestly never realized this was a missing film since when I discovered it's existence, it was uploaded onto youtube with HD glory.
