Fun doesn't necessarily have to mean fast. This Integra is an absolute joy to drive

A K20 is probably the most fun you can have in a non boosted car. I never take mine to 9K but occasionally I’ll get to 8600. 315 hp in mine 💪💪

These cars are SO fun.
I used to work at a dealer when they were new.
These cars were the last Honda vehicles with cable throttles before they moved the K20 engine over to the civic Si and went electronic throttle.
They are so fun and so responsive.
Edit: although this is a type R, so I can't remember the engine code, but the throttle is still true, even the base integra / RSX (us) had a cable throttle and was still fun
And I prefer only to SEE it
Great cars, had an N/A, supercharged and turbo one. Feels like driving a touring car, good on fuel and supremely reliable

What a lovely thing. Revs like a motor bike. My Toyota AE86 used to rev like this & had an extra set of injectors that came in at high revs, but was lower geared
They don't build them like they used to.

The K20 is a great engine.
If this is the same as the RSX type S in the US the factory rev limit is 8300, so this one has a tune I believe, power drops off past 8500 so you don't really want to keep going much higher anyways.
They are an absolute blast to drive... Mechanical throttle on the Integra / RSX (us), and an LSD, they are so responsive and fun to zip around curvy roads in.
The civic si had the same engine, but it had balance shafts added and had an electronic throttle. Not as engaging because of the throttle, but still basically the same engine.
@@volvo09own a K20 myself. It’s tuned, 315 hp, my power starts to drop out around 8300. Added a higher final drive but with TSX gears, 3rd goes up to 100 mph. The best money I’ve ever spent in my life. I’ve had it for 15 years.
@@volvo09 RSX did not have a LSD from the factory. I rebuilt hundreds of these transmissions for grinding gears 20 years ago.

If you like revs and the accompanying sounds Maybe you could try a sports motorcycle ? most four-cylinder road bikes are only just getting into the best power at 8000 rpm many will spin to 12,000 and in the case of my GSX-R750 15,000 revs per minute❤

My 2002 Type S made 207 whp and had an 8600 rpm redline, but I never tried a top speed run over 145 mph. I was always curious if I could make 160 mph with the stock gearing.

These are awesome cars! I’d rather drive a Manual one of these than todays automatic junk with safety gadgets constantly going off, warning tones, auto braking because the car thought a shadow was a vehicle in front 🤦♂️

Dunno. I had a dc5 and a dc2. I loved both but the dc2 was the one I thought was better. I guess it's down too personal preference but the rawness of the dc2 and the lack of weight made it a hard car too beat.

Doesn't look like 250HP to me, that would require a proper custom tune, exhaust, cams... And for sure you would redline 6th gear. Looks like a stock car based on the speed you hit.
15s 100-200, absolutely crazy throttle respond and 2nd looks like 1st and 3rd looks like 2nd. Definitely 250hp

I am going to have to agree, I have a ep3 stock and my ep3 seems to accelerate as fast as this DC5, maybe it does have a remap but the supporting mods are restricting it s power
