Type R was always about being the "ultimate civic". In order to keep up with the competition, it had to go forced induction otherwise it would've been easily smoked by things like the Golf R or the Focus RS. Theres only so much you can do with a naturally aspirated 2.0 4 cylinder and still keep it within regulations to sell in a variety of countries.

In what universe bro? The second one obviously ain’t stock, and I had an FK8, and it’s MUCH faster than 6.6, it’s low 5s if you do it right, and the new type r isn’t far behind that despite being slower in a straight line
I'm currently driving an EP3. The mileage is 250,000km. I want to drive a Civic next time, but it's getting expensive all over the place and I'm sad... I'll keep trying until 300,000km!
Pmsl... love how people try to make the civics seem faster than they are.. that Ep3 was no where near stock... revvingall the way up to 9000rpm and 50mph in 1st... heavily modded there and on a slight down hill without a doubt 😂😂😂
I don’t think that was the FL5’s time as you can see it struggled to get to high rpm pretty sure yall saw the speed drop when it did that. I think the fl5 real time was around 5 seconds plus or 5 seconds half
After I saw the second one I was like damn, Type R aren't slow as I always thought but then I saw the newer ones and was like yeah, those are still pretty slow
The EP3 is modded, it starts with launch control and like said before, revs higher then the stock one. Throw in some bucks for an ECU, an exhaust en intake and you have some nice N/A fun, throw in a little more money and you have some real fun, nothing beats the K20 in my opinion
I love watching these type r videos because they are all so much slower than my car and it makes me feel warm and cosy inside knowing I don’t own something so slow 😂

意外にもこの対決だとEP3が1番速いことに驚き。世代が進む事に性能も上がってるし、現行で使われてるK20Cエンジンはターボ付いてるから、加速なら熟成されたFL5がかなり速いと思った。FD2に関しては同じK20Aを積んでる2ℓNAという点でも後者に分があると思ったが、やっぱり最高速度には劣っても、中低速域が強い分加速勝負なら強いんだろうな。
