Heya Luis!! Magna wires are my nemesis, the few times I've used them they broke after I got everything together. And I've never used copper strip, I worry about that stuff. Knowing my luck I'll short everything out with that stuff. :D
@@PunkyWily Maybe they are not making it like before? When I was doing models in the 80's I never had that problem with magna wires.👴 Metal strips I glue them on the inside surface of the model where normal wires won't fit. Before that, I solder normal wires on the ends.
@@LuisVazquez-hx3bk Luis, I just never had any luck with the magna wires. And the strips I just worry about, mainly because of me. I donno. Maybe I'll run into a situation where it requires me to use them, and I'll say, yup, you were right Luis! :D
Looks good, chillers -1 x 1led strip segment white Paint inside of chiller area blue done 2 extra wires .if you want use 1 x flashing led light for beacon ,1 x led whit light for the spot lights solder those wires to the led strip add 2 x wires to led strip for power and done. Just trying to be helpful not rude.
Heya James!! Not sure if just putting in a flashing led would work out as it wouldn't be in sink with the rest of the flashers. I did just that on my 1/537 refit build and now my nacelles looks like rail road crossing lights. Lol. I'm just going for a basic thing here, thus what you see in the video. I didn't think you were being rude. Don't know why passing on knowledge these days is considered an offence.
@@PunkyWily thank you, I was thinking of the tight space ,but if you can get 2 x sets of power wires down the necells into the main hull then you could still do what i suggested but with a white led in the nacell 's with wires going to a board to control the flash rate .if you use wrapping wire,or magnet wire which is made for these tight spaces.however you need to be careful using magnet wire as it can get scuffed an expose the bare wire and cause a short. This is why if you can get a roll of wraping wire with 8 colours it works great for this type of wiring job.
Perhaps side-light fiber optic could work on the chiller grills. A groove in the underlying plastic and fiber optic of the tint of the color you want. Only problem there might be stronger light at the end you light it from, so figuring out a reflector device at the other end or perhaps a second LED, lighting from both ends.
Heya Jedi, I've tried something like that with the turbo lifts on the 1/350 and you still get a bit of light dimming in the center, like a dead spot almost. You'd have to use some super bright LEDs if you want to keep constant light throughout. Good idea tho, keep suggesting!!
Salty!!! Heya bud! Yeah those Bandai Star Wars kits are something else. I need to get me some more of those! If you are gonna build the Reliant, this is a pretty good kit, waaaaay better then that old AMT one.
Hey how's it going? I was just thinking you could use some blue LED tape to light up the Chiller Grills and SMD's for the tiny light on the Nacells but looks like you got a good start on this. getting anythig done on the 1:350 E.R ?
Heya Wraith!! Well, I thought about it too but its more of a matter of space for wires then space for sm/led/tape. Maybe you could do it with micro wire, like magnet wire, but I really don't have anything like that at the moment. And ever build I see with those look, I donno, wrong? Lol I know it doesn't make any sense, seeing as they should be lit and there are episodes of next gen and ds9 where they are, it just looks odd. Like I think the ship is more menacing with them unlit, and considering who was captn in wok, it fits. I've primed, light blocked, white coated and painting in where the floors of the halls, and ceilings, on the 1/350 refit. Beyond that I've done nothing on the kit. However, I've being prototyping a TON of interior parts for 3D printing with Devil Dog Dot Games. Wait till you see this stuff!! He did a recreation of the rec deck that is spot on to the set. Hoping to get some parts in soon here to continue working on her. I may be heading back on the secondary hull as it still needs work to get us ship shape.
Heya Greg!! Lol thanks? Trying to find tracks I haven't already used. Trying to throw new stuff in there, don't think I've used Bubble Man or Wood Man yet. Working my way through 2. Lol
Heya Michael! Really? Huh, didn't actually notice that. Well they are on the inboard side of this build. Everything seemed to fit together alright though, so. Weirdness.
Too late but why not use magna wires or a piece of copper strip for the fine pieces?

The Reliant is so on my list. If I ever get past my gunpla and bandai star wars addiction I've had as of late.

Looking good man.
Heya SDM!! Thanks man! Now get back to that decal mine!

Honestly Round 2 messed up by doing the clear parts on the wrong side of the nacelle the clear parts should have been done on the inboard side.
