That was well said at the end. Some people don't understand working for your food. Meaning working a full time job then working 16 hr shifts while out and about in the woods trying to find and harvest the elusive Wapiti. It's far from driving down to Safeway or Walmart buying a couple steaks in 20 minutes. I'm grateful for you and others on this platform that show to the best of the cameras ability what is actually endured. God bless!!!

End speech was Epic! My 14 year old daughter and I experienced this on a drawn youth texas elk hunt. She was blessed with an 800 lb 5x5 bull 300+ yard shot. We look at her mount and its an incredible bond we all three have. Anyone that has never Elk hunted will never understand.

Last summer I had a conversation with Brian Call about how it’s crazy that we go to such extremes to be successful. It’s definitely hard on our bodies mentally and physically. Pack outs can be brutal but when it’s all said and done it’s so rewarding and not long after we look forward to doing it again.
Brian’s response to that was, “it’s in our DNA.”

With all the moisture we had here in NM it was an awesome hunt last year! I was lucky enough to draw unit 17, 1st hunt this year. It's a lot dryer this year, but rains are starting to roll in. It's my first year using my Phelps tube. Wish me luck!

This will be my first ever hunt and I chose for it to be Archery as well. I draw a tag for either sex public in a similar area to you in this video. It’s been a great learning experience and opportunity I hope I can feed my family with this bounty

I know it is a rare situation, but what would you recommend doing if cows come in before the bull in the future? I've had a similar situation happen and I pretty much stood still and shut up. Is it better to take this approach or give them a couple soft cow calls and convince the bull to keep moving in? Thanks, great hunt!
Typically I’d stay quiet abd motionless and let the cows pass by, and then draw carefully as not to get detected by the bull when the he approaches.

listening to your podcast 😂, you got the chiggers or red bugs, they are the worst down in south Mississippi. I didn't know they were in NM takes forever to stop itching.
They were TERRIBLE!!!! I literally itched for 2 months Hahaha
I understand in the old days it may have been for fun, not so much business, but, I miss the old days with the collaborations, too funny. All are business now it seems. I can go back and watch those old episodes, I guess.
How's that big city living? Had to laugh come to find out the family and i relocated about 5 miles down the road from where you moved from. Hoping the elk are not far. Many times there was droppings in the yard during the inspection/purchase process.
Man I miss that place a lot. I miss all the trees and quiet nights. You should have lots of elk to chase around there. Just gotta out maneuver the other hunters is all......
