This video truly was a passion project. I love this weapon, I love Halo & Destiny, and its so cool to see something heavily inspired by the Battle Rifle come to the Destiny universe. This is a complete review of every detail of the BXR-55 Battler, inspired by the Halo BR-55 Battle Rifle in Destiny 2 Crucible PvP 30th Anniversary Update.

I'm here to debunk that "put Hip Fire Grip or Icarus on your mod slot". Sweaty Confetti is by far the objectively best mod to put on this weapon.

It's clear that you care deeply for this weapon and it's introduction into this form has been meaningful for you. I appreciate the detail of this review and breakdown, and I've been holding on to every roll I've got so far with the intent of trying each one to see which one I enjoy most and which one speaks to me in my own personal journey. Glad to hear you're having so much fun with the content update, I hope that continues through Witch Queen and beyond!
I think the BxR represents what 450s are meant to be, a mirror of 140 handcannons but for pulse rifles. What it lacks in forgiveness it makes up for in versatility, and despite the forgiveness on all handcannons in terms of aim assist and peak shot potential, the BxR pushes me into the same handcannon playstyle in the same way DMT allowed people to use a scout rifle like a handcannon for the first time.
Except BXR is downright worse at the handcannon job without doing anything extra. It needs a buff along with every other lightweight pulse.
@@darkhelmet12e47 massive range is a legit thing. Much more forgiving to missing a little than a hand cannon. Better benefit from lethality perks.
450s sure can feel like just worse rapid fires. But this one does feel special to me.
@@AllThingsFascinate If you get kill clip or adrenaline junkie going on this thing, you can 2burst. That's around a .5 TTK
I don't believe 140's can do that. The added range+versatility of the BXR helps it compete. The base stats on this gun are ridiculous, and make almost any roll usable. It's also pretty easily farmable.
Palindrome is a really good HC, but farming a "god roll" can take much more time. Farming for an adept version with the rolls you're looking for can take MUCH longer. Then there's the chore of farming for adept mods too, so you can complete the "god roll". (I believe you can only get "adept icarus" from going flawless in trials)
The pali may be a better overall option, but will take MUCH more time to get your perfect roll. It still gets outranged by almost all BXRs too. The BXR has so many good options+beefy base stats+ overall versatility that you won't have to grind for too long to get one that's competitive.

@@AllThingsFascinate Honestly though you can get dozens of these with pretty minimal effort in Dares. My first 2 rolls had kill clip but I've had many more since.
Farming Dares is much easier than grinding out GM nightfalls+going flawless.
This gun kinda breaks the 450 mold. The base stats being so high makes hitting the optimal TTK much easier than all other 450's. This is really the only one that's consistent enough to use.
I have so many god rolls. Got a 5/5 one with Demo and Adrenaline Junkie about an hour ago. It'll be my main PVE one.
thats the best roll imo, that roll on any weapon is insane because grenade builds r so dominate

@@adeptshadowprice3772 I'm currently using it with Contraverse Holds and bountiful wells. With my build a grenade kill drops 4 void elemental wells. So I pretty much always have an overcharged grenade in my pocket.
I tried to make bad juju work but it never clicked. But this BXR? It's exactly what I want in a 450 pulse. I've been putting work in on my killing wind + eye of the storm roll. I get so excited every time one drops. Love to see how much you love this gun drew.

I feel those closing sentiments. Literally haven't taken forerunner off in pvp since it came out. I know it insanely easy to use and some people think it's cheesy already but idc cause I enjoy the nostalgia trip. All in all, love all the 30th weapons. They're all so unique in one way or another which makes them fun to use.

I’m really hoping that when Bungie talked about making different guns of the same archetype different in some way they meant making the frames unique like with this gun. Would really make the variety of the guns stand out!
If this is the case that would be amazing! Imagine a lightweight 140 hc or 360 auto, could really shakeup the game and make the gun feel like one's own

@@tangerinepaint3643 Lord Shaxx Remembers lol I still have my currated Spare Rations as a memento. I miss em, not how dominant they were mind you, but the bonus they provided. I think alot of things become broken because we don't have "enough" variety at that moment in time. I think they jumped the gun with the drastic conversion, however they we definitely dominant at the time. Rn Ace is Arguably the best HC to most, but now that we have Eyas, Hawkmoon, Pali, Fatebeinger, and even things like Waking Vigil & Annual Skate there is more competition. The game has a great foundation, we simply need more depth & tools to dive deeper that really enhances and showcases play styles. I don't envy the devs at Bungie, but I'm looking forward to how things will evolve in the future. 2/22/22

@@tangerinepaint3643 man that's what I'm talking about, I love autos & I never even thought of that. You just reminded me of that green lightweight 450 auto, the Jiangshi? That's a prime example of making the gun your own! I'd love to see the various playstyles and try to master as many as I can, especially if this new crafting system will reward you for using the gun, I wouldn't mind experimenting and seeing what mad Frankenstein weapon the community can concoct
Great video! I really like the gun and can't wait to play more with it. I think these pulses could use a small bump up to make them a little more forgiving with ttk but otherwise I totally agree that they did this one well

My first roll was snapshot rangefinder, it feels really nice in the longer range maps
As a controller player i've actually found that full auto is really nice on this weapon. It's definately not neccesary, but it's really nice to have.
Definitely helps when you hipfire up close

This weapon is a dream of a gun to me. The feel is so good and the stats with these rolls are just insane. I'm not stopping till I get the 5/5 on it. This will be one of my signature weapons.

I've got an arrowhead, accurized, snapshot, EotS, stability roll. Nice mix of stability/ range and consistency
The details and in-depth breakdown of this classic halo gun definitely earned some extra likes for vid.
I got one with arrowhead, steady, snapshot, rangefinder, stability masterwork and an icarus mod.
Even though you didn't mention rangefinder I really like the extra zoom and it feels like a scout at distance.
I really felt with snapshot that the full potential of the gun was unlocked because during the middle of gunfights you can aim and unaim during the interim between bursts.
Very good gun that got me using a pulse which hasn't happened since the Bo1 m16 because d2 pulses always felt weird/wrong
I was using a perp/eye roll and I love it so much. Got smallbore/ric rounds with stability masterwork on it too

My roll that I'm using in pvp is arrow head break accurized or steady rounds snap shot kill clip with a reload mw and I've been running it on bottom tree golden gun and I absolutely love it

Had this in my vault for the longest time. I normally use HC for PVP But man this thing with Arrowhead, Richochet, Snapshot, Eye of the Storm, and Range MW is consistent AF!

I'm really looking for a arrowhead, accurized, snapshot, rangefinder roll. That's 44.5 meter range so there wouldn't be many sightlines that I couldn't challenge with that roll. I think a range mw would bump that up to 46, but I think a stability mw would be better
Excellent video drew, I'm loving this weapon too, especially with the new perk which adds a nice boost in stats. I have a doubt tho, would you pair killing wind and KC? also what's your take on Rangefinder on this weapon, is the extra range worth the investment?

Now if there was only something I could do for my RNG. About to hit a reset and the few rolls I’ve gotten with Arrowhead have all landed with auto loading holster. Pain.

I once got a BXR w 100 handling before mods. For some reason it dropped to80 or so handling. O well because I got one later with forged barrel, kill clip, killing blow, accurized bullets and 80rng. its lovely

I've gotten so many of these to drop that are god rolls on xbox. Just got my favorite 10/10 roll last night though.
Arrowhead brake(perfect 100 recoil, so counterbalance mod not required), ricochet rds, perpetual motion, kill clip, and a stability MW. I added the full auto mod so you can just lay into people.
It's an absolute lazerbeam monster. I've been using top tree dawn and the in-air accuracy with heat rises is ridiculous. I'm not sure an icarus mod is needed. I may swap to icarus or hipfire grip when full auto becomes selectable on all weapons in witch queen. Currently though, full auto just works so well with everything.
I've been pairing it with a full choke, assault mag, perpetual motion, killing wind, range MW Wastelander shotty. Perpetual motion is basically up the entire time you're playing and combined with the lightweight shotty allows you to just ZOOM around the map. It's my ultimate run and gun setup. It feels sooo good.

Honestly, You really can't go wrong at all with nearly any roll. It is just a perfect pulse of what I've used
Ive always loved pulses but their downside was always bad hipfire, in air, and poor handling. This gun fixes those and just FEELS really good. I’ve especially been enjoying it with missile titan as kill clip+inertia override is absurd. I do also want to lock in a demo+adrenaline roll for both pve and shinobus vow toxicity
My favorite roll is perpetual motion and kill clip. So damn lethal lmao

You say it is versatile but handcannons have even more versatility! I have been getting hundreds of kills on it but even then I am not comfortable bringing it into a duel where the enemy is shooting back. I would love to see a buff to its bodyshot damage up to 17 from 15 and bring the headshot damage to 28 from 25. This works out to bring the optimal ttk down by one shot at the cost of less forgiveness while giving a more realistic ttk that is the same speed as it is now with a 6 head 2 body killing any resilience. Maybe the BR would need to be tuned down a LITTLE to compensate but I really dont know. As common as it is I really do think that it is only being used because it FEELS good not because it is actually competitive.
I agree entirely, like I mentioned its versatile, but definitely still falls to hand cannons and is a weak archetype. Low A or high B tier.

I feel the 450s and 390s kinda just exist any time I use them you quickly realize there’s no reason to when the 540s and 340s are just way better options. Darkest before and messenger imo are probably the two best available options rn

I feel like stability isn't as important if you get a perpetual roll. I usually am a gigantic sucker for high stability, but I run a full bore/accurized BXR most of the time and with perpetual triggered it feels as good as ever.

perpetual motion
rangefinder
handling MW
The five alive!!
They really should increase the damage of 450 pulses to 26 crit 17 body, so it's 6 crit 2 body on 4 resilience or less, 7 crit 1 body on 5 or more. And it would be 4 whole bursts to body kill in 1.33 sec. This is how they should be really tbh.
new expansion would be dope if we hit an era of 450s with more 450s coming out. Maybe a bad juju buff?

This gun really highlights just how incredibly bad that archetype of pulse is. This gun is absolutely stacked in stats, effective range, perks, and hip fire. 10/10 at pretty much everything but the damage profile and even with that I just can't pick it over a darkest before, messenger, or legal action. The body shot damage and unforgiving TTK is just that bad to me.
