As I recall, having had a couple in the past, there’s a foam cover for the capsule. As well as in the ball grill, (like the 58), that degrades over time and sheds down into things. I’ve had to remove it clean the particles out of the capsule and re-foam that part. This is one of the reasons I prefer the PE56D, as it has a brass screen that does that part of the protection and second stage of the pop filtering. Conjecture tells me it may sound a bit grainy up top, if some bits are riding the insides. But I’m betting it’s machine Elves, in there building something you may like. Wrote a song about it. Oooooooooh yeeeeeaaaaaaah!!!!
damn, I bought one of these an hour before you posted this. not many reviews of it out there. I went for it over the SM58 purely for how it looks. relieved to know that it's not much different soundwise.
Hey Bark, are you planning on reviewing Tonor D58, a Shure SM58 clone? Or even the karaoke mic, Tonor D5? I've only seen one guy reviewing Tonor D5, and non so far on Tonor D58.
@@ObscureMics I know this one can. But it was more general. I'm a FOH engineer. And it happens a lot that people with a switchable mic turn their mic of 🥴 So a switch for me is really scary 😅
I love the Shure retro series. More chrome than a Caddy bumper.
Yessir!
Man, this takes me back to your first year or two of videos.
Yeah it all started with the 545sd
Almost 6 years to the day actually
It’s definitely a cool looking mic! Snazzy up your aesthetics with that one!! I agree with the 7.

LOL its the elves, as I always clean used mics when they come in and refoam if needed

Yeah I don’t believe a wrong choice can be made
This video sounds fantastic..What mike stand is that??
Thanks! Fifine bm88
Before viewing this video I'm sure it's already great! I've been watching some of these 565 and 545 mics on eBay just haven't bought any of them yet.
I would attribute almost all the difference to the age difference. Great sound on both!
Think so?

Funny you ask…I was gonna ask them for one today
@@ObscureMics Excellent!
I've always had an aesthetic preference for the SM57 / 545. However, you can pick up a used 565 pretty cheap these days.
I got this one cheap so YUP
What shock mount are you using??
Sterling SM5
A mic with a switch on stage.... noooooo please nooooo!
It can be locked and there’s a non switch version

@DustinWatts yeah an absolutely unnecessary thing for stage use…cause ooof that would suck
