@@josku5 the low rumble of voices often can be mitigated with a foamy or thicker pop filter due to those specific frequencies not really making it through as easily.
Matt Bolton was recommending this mic recently, and if you don't know him. watch out for his channel. He's an amazing one man band thanks to a looper, streaming live almost daily like right now. He's recommending it because of it's low to no feedback and for live-performances, that's really important.
Rather beautiful colouration on this, I actually like it for speech intelligibility but mainly it's got a vintage sort of feel to it that really enrich instrumentals. Loved the acoustic on this really, but the electric was something else.
Another great video! You saved me a couple of extra hours. Thank you very much! I was currently thinking about the Telefunken M80 or the Shure Nexadyne?... The Telefunken M80 is what sounds a bit more detailed to my ears. So I'll go for that.
Oh my gosh!!! Phil Collins mic AAAAHHHHH Also the Telefunken (I have had my eye on a custom one of those). They are gorgeous. I also like the Shure Dualdyne more than this one being tested. I would say those are my top favourites and of course the Neumann at the end songs pretty great as well!!!
2:44 IMO I think this shows that for most people starting out, it's probably better to go for a dynamic mic rather than an LDC. Even though the reflections are audible, they're quite well subdued here.
How would you compare this with the Sennheiser e945? To me it sounds crispier than the Shure sm58 but warmer than the Sennheiser e945, but that's only based on your videos. I think it sounded very similar to the e835 too. What do you think? Also thanks for sharing this, I was waiting for your review on this one, you are a legend!
For live work this is a real improvement over the SM58, I was helping out at the Grand Old Opry and they have switch from the 58 to the Nexadyne. I got a couple and for 'Pro's this is a better Mic for a Podcasting or talking not worth it.
Hey, love your stuff! If you had a $300 budget and wanted to improve your audio quality for zoom calls (work), while also recording your acoustic-electric guitar sometimes (hobby), What would your setup be? Which mic/interface would you buy? I watched your $150 budget setup video, it's great! I can invest $300 though, I'd also prefer to place the mic off-camera, as I'm not comfortable with a full size mic in front of my face for the video-call context.
The nasal aspect of the microphone is a little off-putting. You really nailed the use-case for the microphone. It’s a stand-mount microphone for stage use. The rejection of the drumkit is a very specific advantage to the microphone and it does control the plosives at lip-touch distances well-something that nearly all super-cardioid microphones struggle with. As a long-time (decades) live sound engineer, I actually prefer the SM58 or e835 in almost every case. My own “signature” live sound mix is e835 or e935 centric. The Sennheisers are great on stage, lousy in the studio. What is really telling is how insanely bad the sound is from this microphone when cupped.
Never knew I needed to see a trend in the comments suggesting who would we'd like to hear sing on a microphone Bandrew tests. Imma throw a Lara Fabian for this one.
I'm still confused about where Shure is positioning the Nexadyna 8 in their lineup compared to the KSM8. The price makes it seem like Shure is saying the KSM8 is "better."
I think I'd find this microphone hard to listen to for any extended period of time, especially for spoken word...I agree with you that it isn't the most flattering sound.
Mic prices becoming absolutely ridiculous! Go and buy 3 sE V7s Or buy one and invest the $200. In some other gear! Let’s stop this overpriced nonsense!
Its RnD being reimbursed though isnt it. Shure are trying to solve a specific live performance problem here so I can see why the cost is up here. The V7 is also made in a Chinese factory where manufacturing is soooo much cheaper thanks to no human rights, no workers rights, low-low pay rates... Chinese products, if you've noticed, have started to get more expensive too as China realises they can start to get economic benefits from this stuff as its often better made than European or American manufacturing.
@@Bloor005 bet you’ve got some Chinese products in your home? A metal tube, dynamic capsule, no electronic circuitry to speak of= $300!!! Don’t think so! BTW, most likely made in Mexico, cheap labour, etc, etc, etc! Checkmate! Me thinks?😁
@@John-oi8mt there is no check mate here. I'm just pointing out why some things are cheaper since you complained about the price, all things have to be taken into account. And there are better workers rights in Mexico.

YES! Been waiting for this one since it came out. If Bandrew didn't review it, it doesn't exist.
Same. I remember thinking "Oh yup, Bandrew's gotta get on that one ASAP"
The only _real_ review of this mic as it now stands.
Thanks, Bandrew!
Danke! ☕️
Thank you so much for the support Rainer! It really does help keep things running on this channel. You rock!
Your guitar solo was mind-blowing ! 🎸
Just bought one on amazon for live shows, I should get it tomorrow!
Hello Neumann
the Nexadyne sounds so good, gonna buy one today.
Notice how the nasal frequencies are almost non intrusive at the singing example.
Definitely will shine for live uses.
Great video as always
Sound pretty boxy though. Not a fan personally.
@@josku5with the pop filter it wasnt that bad tbh

The best Nexadyne 8 C review. The comparison helps a lot. Absolutely NXD8C is the most natural for close mic vocal.
Thank you for watching and for the kind words. Glad it was helpful.

The KSM8 Dualdyne isn't far off the cost and just sounds so much smoother. If I had to have a dynamic, it would be that one.
I still love my Earthworks 117.........

Of all the dynamics you compared on your voice, I liked the e835 the most.

Why do I not own a V7 yet?
It wins literally every comparison.
yes
I have one. It is worth noting that it is more susceptible to EMI than other dynamic microphones. Other than that, it is a good microphone!
😍
I love my SE V7.
When are we getting the podcastage album that has all of the music of every microphone you reviewed.
Thanks for the great comparison. Could you also upload reviews of JBL microphones?

No, we have ASMR at home.

What?! No STICKER?!!
@@sheldoninseattle1609 Shure literally watched and learned form his videos lol they ALWAYS use to give stickers
Is this better than the 87a and the Neumann 105
It seemed to me that the nexadyne 8 is similar to telefunken 80
and maby would be to e945, beta87 and other ringing mics??
Try the new ATS99 from Audio Technica. You may find it a pleasant surprise
That U87ai at 4 o'clock is where its at!!!

Shure hasn't really impressed me lately, this is no exception. Overpriced?
What acoustic guitar are you using in this?
Taylor Builder's Edition 517e
SE Electronics V7 please. The V7 is just so crisp and for the price is my choice.
❤❤❤

So many plosives tests, and not a single sponsorship from Domino’s Pizza.
What a missed opportunity for them.
E835 and the V7 are both great for the price...
The E835 sounded best to me
Seems like a studio singers' microphone to me. Maybe too much physical noise vulnerability for general stage use.
When you cup the grill, it sounds like when I'm about to pass out
ciao Bandrew sympathic Question : why do you repeat tih Neumann microphone "Hello Neumann !" you make me laugh very much 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't hear it is worth 3x more than SM58! I prefer old classic.
You're paying off RnD. Thats why the expense. The relative cost of this mic will drop over the next few years. Presuming people buy it.
It's okay but I'm really spoiled by condensers and handheld condensers.
Noo way you ended the video like that 🤣🤣
I'd say it's good advice. If you're on stage in front of a crowd, don't rub on it.

Yes , me did that. U87 had little more lows & less nasal sound. I guess a good Eq or a reference EQ, will take care!
I don’t think this comparison is legit if the Behringer XM8500 wasn’t even invited to the party. Also, the V7 still reigns supreme. :)
If it doesn’t come with stickers, I’m not interested
