That would be so funny since I like to play the games with the idea that most of the player characters are the same immortal guy, especially for this anytime they deal with Menamarco. Imagine the hero taking the fight to the Thalmor and slaughtering hordes of them to get to their leader, and it’s Marko.
Hero “What? You? How many times do we have to do this man?”
Marco “What are you talking about….” Looking at the hero’s face he flashes back to every defeat he had at their hand and begins to tremble with fear.
Marco “it’s you, oh gods not you.”
And he begins having some kind of mental breakdown dealing with the trauma of his defeats. The end.

For his bravery in putting an end to the Oblivion Crisis, Akatosh blessed all those in the Champion's bloodline from that point on with dragon blood in their veins, and with each generation that dragon blood grew stronger and stronger until the events of Skyrim, when the current descendent has the most potent amount of dragon blood within him/her.

How little we know about the Thalmor and political situation beyond most things after the novels is irking me more and more. Yes, Skyrim is a backwater lace where the politics of Nirn do not penetrate that much. But it's quite ridiculous how much is left unanswered compared to previous games.
Also, I think Ancano is quite more higher up in the hierarchy as he's acting alone and is dealing with matters very close to the Altmer heart of culture: relics of a ancestor god.

What if the Thalmor are the good people?
I mean the only perspective we've had so far is the one of the Imperials and Nords who hate them.
There's every possibility that Talos was a murdering tyrant and that the Thalmor were right about him. People only judge on what they see infront of them sometimes...

+Caiã Wlodarski The Arcturian Heresy was pure propaganda written after the White Gold Concordat. If you played Oblivion, it is proved that Tiber Septim is the ninth divine because of the Armor of Tiber Septim. Now Talos, is the god of war in the TES universe. Each of the Aedra and Daedra have their own spheres. Talos' sphere is war, while Mara's is love, Dibella's is sex, beauty, and art, and Akatosh is time. Of course Talos was a mighty conqueror, and warlord, or else he couldn't be the god of war. He mantled Lorkhan, and achieved CHIM. That is how he changed Cyrodiil's landscape from jungle all throughout time from the Dawn Era to the Fourth Era. Vivec also achieved CHIM just like Talos. Talos *IS* Lorkhan because he mantled Lorkhan also known as Shezzar, Sheor, Shor, and Sep.

You need to look up on the Lore the Thalmor are right about Talos it's not about wither he's a god or not it's about wither he deserves to be a god or not. Oh and Talos didn't mantle Lorkhan/Shor he mantled Ebonarm/Reman/St.Alessia.

Valerious Catastros Well Talos being Lorkan i.e. the false God just shows how he is wrong to achieve Chim. Vicec was killed and his city destroyed for acts not that dissimilar to Tiber Septims. Personally, I am a supporter of the Thalmor as it has been too long since the eleves have had any rightful influence over Tameriel. In fact I helped build the 1st Aldmeri Dominion in the second era as the Queen Ayrenn's agent for her rule (that only wanted to help spread the advanced culture of the elves to the lesser races) to be thrown down and her people merciless killed just for the sake of conquering. Talos does not deserve Chim.

MagicalBeetroot *Elves but in the Elder Scrolls they prefer the term Mer/Meri except the last Snow Elf, Also I don't support the Thalmor but I'll admit their not entirely wrong about Talos.
