    A word about Wicca being a cult...I was raised in Jehovah's Witnesses, so I have experience with cults and know what a cult is. I have experience with Wicca and Wiccans. Wicca is not a cult.

      Emo GOD Thank you for your response. Where does Paganism come from? Who started it? I am trying to figure something out...

      Emo GOD Ok. That is what I find interesting. Nobody seems to know where the rituals and traditions started. Or, maybe they do not want to say. Either way, thank you for responding.

      Michael Krull Precisely a cult has a set leader/leaders using people through fear mongering for their own perposes. Wicca doesn't have a set leader and is actually very laid back so it's not a cult at all.

      Well and there are some people that put Wicca and a bad name and some parts. Also that all started way back then and then it grew more more more and they always thought it was satanism in a way and to be honest we are all blessed with gifts to help others and ourselves to whatever makes us happy and there are some that abused it

      Davey Jones well you worship a god that requires you to submit. Pagans generally search for there own power some even seek to become there own gods not in the literal sense but to become power in the psychical, mental and astral plane. And blessed be is basically a way of wishing someone good and wishing positive things upon them.

      Books, books, and more books! Scott Cunningham is a great place to start. He's not preachy or too far gone in woo woo land. I'd suggest starting with A Guide For The Solitary Practitioner, but he also has a follow up called Living Wicca, along with a TON of other books on witchcraft. Harmony mentioned Mrs Darley's Pagan Whispers by Carole Carlton, which is also a great one if you just want to get a feel for the sabbats, what they mean, and how people typically celebrate them. If you're on GoodReads, you can get recommendations similar to these as well. Good luck!

      Witchcraft is no religion. It is a practice, and a tradition. There are many traditions-- such as regional ones like Cornish and others like Scottish, British, Italian, German, etc. I'm a practitioner of traditional witchcraft (not related to wicca)

    • @juicysatsumabeauty
      @juicysatsumabeauty 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Me too! I'm an eclectic witch! I'm Scottish with Italian and Romani heritage so my practice involves traditions from all three practices to create my own weird little path. I celebrate the Wiccan holidays but I name them differently. For example I don't like the term Mabon, I prefer Autumn Equinox because the Welsh Mabon God doesn't resonate with me.

She also told me witchcraft and Wicca was the same thing, so I was questioning if I could call myself a witch for a little while.

    I’m a Wiccan, but I’m also an atheist. However, I keep deities, but just see them as personifications of different characteristics and forms of nature. I have three main deities: the Earth Goddess (compassion, femininity, kindness, tranquility), the Horned God (strength, masculinity, protection, power), and Athena (knowledge, wisdom, intelligence). I refer to these ideas as the deities for simplicity’s sake and invoking their names helps me invoke the sense and energy of the above characteristics. Those are my main three but I’ll use other ones if I need their specific energy for a spell. So I don’t believe in a higher power, but I use deities’ names to invoke specific energies for my spell work! I’d always felt drawn to Wicca but stayed away because I didn’t believe in any higher power, until I found out it didn’t matter. Everyone has their own way of practicing and there is no right way.
    🙂 Blessed be y’all

      Listening to coast to coast radio and someone on the show talks about the ancient Gods as really supernatural beings that are both extraterrestrial and dimensional beings that go around the galaxies in this dimension and in other dimensions to help civilizations or educate civilizations and then leave or move on but eventually return to see our progress. However one of these beings has a mental issue according to this person on coast to coast radio such as multiple personality disorder suffering this disease in some forbidden zone in somewhere in the universe or other dimension that these beings tell each from experience not to enter but this being, Enki, is what he is called thought he can prove them wrong and come out of this forbidden zone unharmed. Didn't work out. This being according to the guest on the show stayed around or continued to influence behind the scenes of our world and is the God of our current religions and also is Lucifer as well because he suffers from multiple personality disorder. Maybe this guest of the show is on to something because I often thought of the biblical God as having multiple personality disorder because of the contradictions with this God.

    I have always been drawn to wicca. What I found interesting is that I didn’t choose my deities. They found me almost without any effort from my side. (Like I did try to find them, but somehow they helped themselves.) What’s more interesting is that they are from different pantheons. Greek and Nordic. Also even when my god and godess chose me, I still believe in every god and godess in any pantheon but Apollo and Freyja are just something like my “main ones”. And that’s what I love about Wicca so much, it’s about freedom 💚

  • @courtno787
    @courtno787 7 ปีที่แล้ว +51

    That's interesting! I've always hesitated on what my religion is because of the deities. I don't believe in any deities and I believe nature itself is the higher power (and that science is what's used to explain nature's phenomena); I used to call myself Atheist but I've strayed away from that because of the stigma/community and whatnot. (Plus I believe in other things that most Atheists tend not to believe in). I've always been extremely interested in Wicca as well, finding that many of my beliefs line up with it, but didn't call myself Wiccan because of the deities. I still don't feel comfortable putting a label on my beliefs at the moment but the idea of the deities expressed as an embodiment of nature is really helpful.

      Hailen Ace Jews from my knowledge follow Yahweh the "old testament God" which is kind of an odd statement. Basically Christians follow the same God but we believe in Jesus as our savior and do as he says. Most Jews do not. They follow like the rules of Leviticus aka kosher. Some Christ followers believe Christianity is no different than their jewish brethren. Just a fulfillment the last chapter, completion. That's the general answer I got.
      And I'm interested in norse mythos due to my roots, only reason I'm here. Just curious about the culture.
      P.s. Allah is the Muslim god. All three religions are abrahamic and middle eastern. They're of the same origins. I'd be happy tp explain what abrahamic means if you're curious.

    3:56 -4:50 I totally agree with what you first said about feeling unsure about worshipping an actual God/Goddess as a new witch. As a former Christian, I felt unsure about the Christan God how real he was, or if he was just a concept taken literally, and the history of it all, so I always felt confused. Your explanation here made so much sense to me and helped to clear things up. Thank you!

      You should primarily focus on the great commandments of Jesus, to love the divine, to love your neighbor and to love yourself. You could even focus on his parables like the good Samaritan, the lost sheep, ECT. And remember what Jesus said about the fruit of the holy spirit and how to recognize a good tree from a bad tree. You will get a good idea on how Jesus and Wicca could work in harmony together. Apply these with wiccan principles and you are on your way to Christian Wicca.

    I think its really important and helpful that you make these videos because for young people it can be hard to learn and find information about Wicca. Also when people are leaning a religion they usually have people helping and teaching them. You being a young Wiccan and being newer to the religion and still learning it makes people feel like they have a role model of sorts to help them along in there journey, while you yourself are also still learning and going through your own spiritual journey.

    How do Wiccans feel about sex? Because I understand it's a nature-based religion, so are Wiccans against birth control? And do they view sex as something special that connects them spiritually to the other person, or do they view it as 'just sex'? I know it would also come down to personal opinion but I was wondering if there is anything in the Wicca faith that talks about this.

    • @harmonynicee
      @harmonynicee  7 ปีที่แล้ว +72

      Miss54321GOOO honestly I feel like it's personal opinion, were not against anything really, we don't believe in punishment after death we follow by one rule 'if it harms none do what you will'. Just because we connect with nature doesn't mean we can't use contraception. Again the sex thing is a personal thing, I think everybody should do what they want, if it's enjoyable and makes people happy then it creates positive energy.

    • @harmonynicee
      @harmonynicee  7 ปีที่แล้ว +61

      Miss54321GOOO we use and work along side nature but it doesn't mean we bow to it, there's nothing in Wicca that states, you can't use this or do that. That's what makes it different from everything else, there's only one 'rule' to follow.

      I've studied for around 9 or ten years now give or take and sexuality (not the act of but rather appreciating the sacred nature of sexuality) is a huge pagan practice. Even the "great rite" in rituals where the joining of the God and Goddess is represented through the joining of the chalice and the athame, is a representation of our gift of sexuality. (Disclaimer- if you find yourself in a group that is forcing you to do anything you are uncomfortable with, they are out there, please just leave. Dont worry about leaving the circle, just leave.) It's most celebrated at Beltane which is a celebration of the fertility of the Goddess, the Earth and... well us. The May pole that we have used for years and years and years is. Well. It's a huge penis. *shrugs* during the rite, the men will carry the pole and bury it into the hole that the women will dig and bless (we get to pour our fertility energy into the hole!) which is called the yoni hole. If you ever get the chance to experience this I say GO GO GO!!!!! It is soooooo incredible.
      While this is an amazing celebration I will say this with the disclaimer that our community is very very exceptional with the safety and well being of ALL of our members and we take that very seriously. Yes. Couples use this event to enrich their sexual lives together. You may head past a few campsites and hear some. Well. Yeah. :D However! We are VERY VERY serious about consent and safety. Find a community that also takes this to the utmost importance.
      But most importantly, I think anyone in my community would tell you this- practice in a way that makes you feel safe and fulfilled with or without your local community. So essentially, we don't have the same shame policy of sex and babies that other Faith's carry with them (and I personally think that its abhorrently wrong to nurture shame in people for being HUMAN). Hope this helps!

    I see the gods and goddesses as spirit guides. I feel that some were actual people while some are personifications of nature. No matter where they came from, I see them as a way for guidance and will refer to them for advice.

    I totally want to see a video about the different types of Wicca! Like some of the other commenters, I really connect to Wicca, but don't have a lot of information to go off of and don't know where to start.

    I am drawn to Wicca.
    But I am also drawn to Shinto.
    They are similar in some aspects, but Shinto comes with a pantheon, where there is a Sun Goddess and Moon God. So it is reversed from Wiccan beliefs.
    Shinto is a Japanese religion.
    I need some help.
    Can I do or merge both practices?

      Yes you can, many wiccans worship all kinds of goddesses anyway and as long as both the teachings of Shinto and Wicca do not clash or better yet, fill the hole of unclear questions for one another, they can be joined together.

    I’m a new Wiccan (VERY new) but I’m not that new to paganism, but I felt a draw to Wicca. Your Enchanted Endeavors videos have helped me more than you know! I can’t imagine researching and learning everything that you know now! (Btw I definitely felt most drawn to the Celtic gods but I could see myself believing in all of the gods as well)

    I'm on the start of a journey it's really lonely I believe in witchcraft and I'm naturally clairvoyant (it's not very strong) and my experience with tarot is really rewarding but I don't believe in polytheism...I just feel the one unknowable infinite Creator...also I'm a huge fan of Jesus despite his opinions on witchcraft he's my radical-compassion proto-communist political activist idol. Idk anyone else who feels/believes the way I do.

      Actually, from what I've learnt, Jesus was pretty cool about that stuff and didn't discriminate against anyone. It's only been his followers that have done that. Again, this is what I have learnt and other people may have learnt about this differently.

    Love you! I love these educational videos in Wicca, thank you for fighting the ignorance around this wonderful belief system. It's literally one of the most gentle belief systems and it's so misunderstood by the media & general public.
    There are Christian Wiccans too though, so there is like a subtype of Wiccan. They kind of juxtapose a bit, but you can practice both Christianity & Wiccan, as long as you don't practice witchcraft or the divination side of things. But there are so many different paths in Wicca now that it's hard to keep up, and of course it varies from person to person - Also I'd love to see an enchanted endeavours episode on the types of wiccan

    i just was reading, saw the word "raven" jump out and i felt shivers down my spine. i searched up "god represented by raven" on google and it was apollo, who i was already thinking about as a deity. do you think this was a sign from apollo, or just a coincidence?

    I'm so happy I found this! I felt like I couldn't be Wiccan if I didn't pray and worship a deity in the way christians worship their god. Obviously I'm new to Wicca but the region immediately resonated with me. I'm between your belief that the gods and goddesses are personifications of nature and that they were once alive and our now spirits.

    How do you feel about Slavic Pantheon, cuz logically it seems like it would belong to Wicca aswell, as it is just another civilization representation of the "nature gods" . Any info about that?

    Scientists can now prove that witchcraft is real and works as far as all of us being energy and being able to manipulate the energies of other people and things.

      @The King of Nature you could very easily look into what science has proven in that area. You are choosing not to. You don't get to tell me about my experiences especially when they are backed by science. If you believe differently, good for you. Just don't go pushing your beliefs on others. I've told you that the information is out there. Go discover it. I'm not going to do the work for you and I'm not going to debate you on it. I have no desire to do either. Enjoy your journey. This is where our interaction ends.

      @@crissogno but hang on, you were the one who made a claim, the burden of proof always falls on whoever makes the claim not the one who is trying to disprove it. Your argument sounds like "I read this one article that says this thing, but I won't show you this article you'll have to find it yourself." People would be more convinced of your claims if you had the evidence at the ready, free to present

    Yes yes yes!!! Please, i need a video about wiccan paths! I'm just starting off with Wicca and I feel really connected to the Norse Mythology, as well. I heard that there's a Wiccan path that's going into that direction but people kind of seem to be making fun about the "Norse Wicca" a lot (which I wouldn't care about because I feel like most of these religions that are either very old or that are inspired by old religions are quite similar and could be combined very well. The fact that people make fun of certain types of Religions is in general really annoying because...everybody is different so why can't everybody's belief be a little different. After all a Religion is something personal....)) AANYWAY I would love to hear what you'd have to say about different paths of Wicca
