I know this' an older video, but as a fellow packrat, you're doing much better than I am with my "collections" .. Always checking these kinds of videos out for ideas on keeping my disasters organized and displayable.
Love the shelves and the general vibe of your room. As for you saying you’re not a poet, I’m reminded of Truman Capote’s line about Jack Kerouac’s On the Road not being writing but typing. I love Kerouac’s stuff (and Capote’s), so just keep writing - or typing!
The gray on gray Royal that you have (11:28 behind your left shoulder) is the typewriter I grew up using in the 70's and into the mid-80's! It was also my Dad's typewriter when he was in college in the 60's. I'd love to get my hands on one again someday!
That would be a Royal Futura 800! They actually made that body style in a few designs including the Heritage, the Tab-o-matic, the Futura 400, 600, Royaluxe 400, 425, 450, and the Royal Aristocrat. (I may or may not have a video coming out on that model in March....)
Sarah this display is so beautiful. I’m slowly catching up on your videos! You have a natural flare for displaying and getting the balance of colour, size and depth.
Lovely, and welcome to your new home! Just a thought: since typewriters are relatively short (at least, the portables), I was thinking perhaps you could “fill” the tall white space behind some of those by simply leaning a tall, squarish typewriter book against the wall behind them. (And it doesn’t have to be a book; could be a beloved record album, a beautiful dish standing on its edge; anything.) Needless to say, I could be wrong.
Hey Sarah, maybe I missed it, but have you done a video on your typing set up? Like what desk and chair you use - do you have a traditional typewriting desk, or a raised chair to get that typing posture? Belated congratulations on the new job by the way.
I'm wondering: are you worried about your typewriters getting dusty? Are you getting covers or just dusting them constantly? PS. That Adler is gorgeous!
Thank you- love my Adler! I am not because I do use them pretty frequently. I cycle through for pen pal letters. But with dust, I can always go in with my air compressor to clean them out
The shelves look great! I have one typewriter that I cleaned up and got working pretty well (and three that are TBD 😂). I've been concerned about dust when displaying it, but now I'm thinking that concern is unwarranted.
Tengo una Olívetti Studio 46, que me salió Gratis . La recogí de encima de un mueble y rodeada de pertenencias de una señora mayor que al parecer falleció . Estaban vaciando su vivienda . Subscrito a tu canal .
So I was thinking about making my own typewriter using simple electrical components to make them more light and compact. I want a typewriter for personal use as I find writing on a computer while easy annoying to print out into a hard copy for safe keeping. And my hand writing is terrible. So when I was thinking of solving these problems the first thing that came to mind was a type writer. But I hate how bulky they are. So why not invent my own hopefully better type writer. This tech has a use and it's sad to see them abandoned by most of the world. So that's why I am here learning about them.
Loving your new set, Sarah!! Thanks for letting us know about Red Flag Poetry too… I love this!! 📬 I have just subscribed 🥰

Nice work!! Your typewriters look prety there. Blessings to your new home. Your videos are great!
love the vid, getting a Rooy typewriter and can't wait to display it.
Congrats!

I use Sam's metal shelves they hold 300lbs each and have wheels so you can change your look on a whim and in less than 20 seconds.
Fantastic video. ❤❤The shelf decor. So just one question…. ‘Are you a scrapper? “
Nice Job! I love the idea of journaling a page a day. Using a typewriter makes it into a ritual, thus more in depth and thought out!
Absolutely love your chair.
Me too!
I know where you inherited your collecting/hoarding desire from; grandpa Bob. He kept everything!

All good suggestions
You my dear, are an inspiration!
I'd say the only thing missing from the new set is a small end table for your coffee.
you're absolutely right!

What a great idea!
My ‘white whale’ is a Cherokee typewriter. They made a few, but the one I’ve seen is a Selectric font ball.

Dust can collect over time for sure- a quick dusting or covers can help!
☕️❤️
Great video!

what is the small red wooden typewriter sitting on a teel box behind you, it looks super cute
THAT is a typeatune! Check out the video on my channel from a few weeks ago with "Typatune" in the title.....
You're looking buff. You must be doing a lot of typewriter presses.
What typewriter books have you collected? Or you recommend?
There's the cold hard type series by loose dog press- really fun! They're all stories from collectors

I wish you luck on your endeavor! You may be able to find a thinner word processor to use for parts or as a starting point
What is that typewriter novelty that I see above your right should? It's red.
There's a typewriter music box that's on the shelves in the beginning
@@JustMyTypewriter Okay, thank you! Love, love, love your videos...Hey...Didn't I write that song???lol
Came for the typewriter content, stayed for the dry jokes
Hopefully it's a good mix of the two
