Today I watched Roger Stone address the Oxford Union on February 13, 2018. To the students at Oxford Stone is a relatively unknown and I was curious to see how they would interrogate him in the question & answer period. Roger made a good speech and if you had no personal information about the subject he did well. Roger claimed that Trump won because many Americans have lost faith in the duopoly of Rep/Dem hegemony in our system. I agree! Our politics have become a skewed game controlled by moneyed interests and politicians are largely unscrupulous in their adhering to their promises and rhetoric after their election. I agree! This is why Trump won but I believe he would not have if opposed by Bernie Sanders. People who wish for a more progressive, science-based, humanitarian government interested in data-driven solutions were faced with the same old, same old or an ignorant rich guy who they viewed as a loose cannon who hated someone they hated. the strong appeal to our ancient Ids won out over the more recent angels of our better nature. Hillary supporters are still venting their harsher natures to me! Roger used several words and phrases familiar to me as a relatively old voter with emotional content like "front group". Stone tried to make Assange a fellow traveler which he is not! stone says whether Russians aided is immaterial but clearly, it is not because we have black letter law making such involvement criminal. In the end, Stone discusses immigration and strong enforcement of borders. He does not mention enforcement of the laws we already have concerning employment of illegals. This is where illegal immigration could be accomplished most effectively and cheapest. Trump and Stone don't go there because that is where the rich don't want them to go. If you enforce the laws against employing illegals you upset their donor base and thus they offer no real alternative to our oligopoly!

I've looked forward to this. I thought he was quite restrained, but devastating in his analysis. I felt the questions were luke warm, except for the 'drain the swamp' question, which was interesting. Stone has a great sense of humour and I find very personable and on the classical liberal side. He's a very clever spin man, but playfully discerning. Enjoyed his speech, but a wasted opportunity for questions.

Today I watched Roger Stone address the Oxford Union on February 13, 2018.
To the students at Oxford Stone is a relatively unknown and I was curious to see how they would interrogate him in the question & answer period. Roger made a good speech and if you had no personal information about the subject he did well.
Roger claimed that Trump won because many Americans have lost faith in the duopoly of Rep/Dem hegemony in our system. I agree! Our politics have become a skewed game controlled by moneyed interests and politicians are largely unscrupulous in their adhering to their promises and rhetoric after their election. I agree! This is why Trump won but I believe he would not have if opposed by Bernie Sanders. People who wish for a more progressive, science-based, humanitarian government interested in data-driven solutions were faced with the same old, same old or an ignorant rich guy who they viewed as a loose cannon who hated someone they hated. the strong appeal to our ancient Ids won out over the more recent angels of our better nature. Hillary supporters are still venting their harsher natures to me!
Roger used several words and phrases familiar to me as a relatively old voter with emotional content like "front group".
Stone tried to make Assange a fellow traveler which he is not! stone says whether Russians aided is immaterial but clearly, it is not because we have black letter law making such involvement criminal.
In the end, Stone discusses immigration and strong enforcement of borders. He does not mention enforcement of the laws we already have concerning employment of illegals. This is where illegal immigration could be accomplished most effectively and cheapest. Trump and Stone don't go there because that is where the rich don't want them to go. If you enforce the laws against employing illegals you upset their donor base and thus they offer no real alternative to our oligopoly!
